    I bought this genetic testing that cost me $245.60 and this isn't even accurate especially the info that says who I am related to. And I just found out this company was sued for lying. I'm so upset. I am going to report them to ************************.

    Completely false information resulting from a DNA test. None of the traits are accurate - at all. They said I am 1/3 Irish. My family has done extensive genealogy research and weve never had an ancestor from ******* or *****! Ridiculous. This is a scam and I want my money back.

    Paid for a DNA testing kit some years ago. My information has changed quite a few times in between then and CRI Genetics seems to be trying to coerce people into buying more services to see more of their own DNA. At first I was predominantly Caucasian, now I am predominantly African. I am requesting my raw data now and the company continues to tell me they do not offer that service and they will escalate my request to their research team. I saw online that this has been happening for over 3 years. But, if CRI Genetics can give your DNA to a 3rd party for research purposes, then why can't I have my own raw information? Or, give me the 3rd party's information, and I will contact them myself. I am simply requesting to have my raw DNA. I am willing to go through whatever security checks but I would like to have my data asap. It is mine, after all.

    We value the privacy and the confidentiality of your DNA information and our security is only as strong as the weakest link. One of our top priorities is to minimize any possibilities of a data leak. We have an extremely small number of staff with access to your raw data. Please be informed that some DNA websites accepting ******** can be used for data mining. This is an obvious fact because some DNA testing companies are being accused of sharing their customers' information with pharmaceutical companies without the customers' knowledge or consent. This is what we are trying to avoid here. Your DNA information is susceptible to Data Mining and our Patented Algorithm being compromised at the same time. ******** download is one of our future plans. We are trying to establish a connection to a relative DNA Database and possibly in the future, we can offer it.     I ordered a standard DNA package through CRI Genetics. They returned results that didnt align with my blood parents and siblings. I questioned them about it and asked for a retest and was told a retest would take 8 weeks. At that time, I submitted a sample to a competing lab, and the results were in line with my familys results. I have contacted CRI multiple times and cant get a confirmation that a retest is being done. I suspect my original sample has been contaminated. In my most recent communication with customer service, the representative asked for my expected heritage so they could look closer. This leads me to think they are wanting to send doctored results that will align with the competing lab results. I spent more money with *** to get results that I cant believe in, and I feel they have behaved in a way that isnt professional and has no integrity.

    Paid to have testing done and was hoping to find out some additional information on allergies or sensitivities. But considering the information that I could verify by looking in the mirror was laughably wrong, wildly wrong, I can't trust any of this information as more fact based than your average horoscope reading. Got hair color, eye color, hair texture, basic ancestry, freckles wrong. Told me I didn't have a wheat or gluten allergy that was hilarious, wish I could have told my body that the last time I ended up on the ** after eating the wrong thing. They never sent an email that I received saying the results were even ready, I just realized it had been a long time and went to see if there was anything saying it was delayed, lol and behold there's the results, and the option to pay them even more money for made up nonsense! Maybe they do a good job guessing most of the time, but yikes. There doesn't seem to be anyway to leave an actual review for this business, so I hope this helps someone else not waste their money.

    The company misrepresented the full scope of its services by not divulging prior to purchase that many of the results would require an additional fee to view. I was not made aware that several of the tests I received were locked and I would not be able to access them without paying additional monies. (Example photo of locked results included with letter of complaint to the company)I was also told that they were unable to process one of the tests I paid for and I would need to submit a request through customer service if I wanted it repeated. (Photo included) It was paid for, yet not received.The most disturbing part of this companys actions occurred during a phone call to request a refund. After receiving and reviewing my report, I noticed several inconsistencies in the results. I took screenshots of these (included) so I had proof to contest the findings they reported. During my 37 minute phone call with the company, the representative deliberately and intentionally altered the information I was contesting during the call so that it would match up with my expressed expectations, fraudulently revising it to reflect a change in the ancestry report from ****************** to ****************** (photos included with more available upon request) They claim to provide accurate DNA results, however after receiving my results they then state that these results may or may not accurately reflect my actual health conditions. (more photos of contrasting results available) As per a follow up email I received, they are now quoted as saying When CRI Genetics scientists put together your health and trait reports, we make predictions based on the available information. However all the health indicators they provided were either completely inaccurate or locked and required additional payment to access.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    I have photographic proof that confirms my original results were indeed altered by somebody from your company (photos included). The first image is the original result I received and the second image is the one your company altered to reflect the countries where my ancestors actually resided.  As you can clearly see from the original version I received vs the version your represenative told me to go back and check, the countries in question have been completely changed. According to the original report I received, none of my ancestors came from ******* or *******. I happen to know for a fact that several generations of grandparents aunts uncles and cousins came to ***************** from these countries. When I shared this information with the customer service representative, he told me to go back and check again. Sure enough, the results had been altered and now reflected both the Ukrainian and Belarusian countries. Both versions are attached in photosI also reached out multiple times directly to CRI genetics, however, nobody responded to my inquiry until I filed this report with the Better Business Bureau. Your company also failed to mention that I would need to pay for an additional subscription to view pertinent result information. This was not divulged until AFTER I received my results.

    I am happy to send you several screen shots of the results in question if you provide me with an email address and name of the person to whom I should address it, however this does not infer that I am no longer requesting a refund. There are just far too many discrepancies with my order that Im not interested in having CRI rerun them. Between the lack of transparency in what I was expecting to receive, the inconsistencies in the original results I received and the missing information I paid for and was told ** have to contact customer support to rerun, I really dont have much confidence in your product and just want my money back. This was a very disappointing experience, to say the least.

    The transaction was on 9/7/24 for a total of $119.87. I purchased a DNA test kit based on reviews found online (******************************** being one of the websites). After researching on the CRI Genetics website, I found a statement that stated: ************** is YOUR property and we treat it as such. You can choose to download the information yourself and you can even instruct us delete and destroy all of the information we have." Since I had never heard of the company, this made me feel more at ease, since I thought I could download the ******** and upload it to other services to compare the results. However, after receiving the report, I could not find out how to download my data. I asked a representative for help via an online chat, only to find out that they do not provide raw ******** downloads. When I questioned why they stated the aforementioned on their website, they stated that when they said "You can choose to download the information yourself" they were referring to pdf reports of what they displayed on the website, not the actual ********. Since I felt that statement was misleading, I requested a refund, but they refused since they provided the results in the guaranteed time window. It was after this experience when I did further research and found out the websites containing the reviews that I based my purchase on are owned by CRI Genetics themselves. In addition, I found many users that reported receiving verifiably false results. I also found out that they had already been in a settlement with the *** concerning some of these issues, yet they are still engaging in these false advertising practices.

    I had cancelled the subscription one year ago.     The main complaint I am sending this for is the false advertisement of a sale without actually having one, the base price of their flawed dna test is is $89 for the "ancestry+traits" or $109 for the "ancestry+health" but both are constantly on "sale" foe those prices with the "full price" changing, currently the "ancestry+health" has a full price of $349, and a couple weeks ago it was $699, they change this every couple weeks.They also give incorrect results, I know for a fact that one of my grandparents is about half native American, I should be about an eighth, but instead, I'm Spanish and eastern slavic. And for some reason, almost everyone gets some small amount of Punjabi Indian, which implies they don't correctly clean their equipment, which is a health concern

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is good enough, a refund means I get to spend the money on something else.

    I really do hope you learn to properly clean your equipment and stop pretending like you have a sale going on when you don't.

    Ordered Kit from CRI on July 6th. Rather excited , great website. Two weeks go by and while i get e mail from them telling me how to return a kit i haven't got . Write them. Get " Since our last update, the order is still currently in transit" Wrong its hasn't been mailed , good try. 17 days in your warehouse? I asked to cancel my order. I got the standard cut and paste reply you see here on BBB, from them, but they would cancel my order if I didn't want to wait 2 more weeks and get a amazing 25% off. ( on what i dunno) 24th of July, I get "While the shipment and handling fee remains non-refundable, I'll ensure the refund process is as smooth as possible for you" . How they can charge me for shipping and handling of something they haven't mailed is beyond me. So i write back, please refund. again. Send again 2 days later. No reply. no contact .So here we are, 25 days later. I'm out ****** CDN, and I really don't expect it back from this shady company as i still have received no reply since the 26th, my last attempt to contact them, they just went quiet. I hope my tale of woe will convince others NOT to trust ***, I don't know if their shipping and handing department is simply a utter shambles, or they are out of stock, but their "Money Back Guarantee: is non existent . Shop around avoid CRI. Wish I would have read BBB before i got into this mess wont ever trust CRI again. Nor should anyone else.

    Its a refund of $ ***** not the ***** it cost me but without BBB I'm sure this would have taken a lot longer if at all. Ironically they contacted me a day after contacting you with a refund.
