Bought a new home from Century Homes in April 2022. Having trouble with insulation and driveway. These have been an issue from the beginning. The service representative has assured me that these would be fixed and have sent contractors out on numerous occasions only to look at the issue and leave. One issue is freezing pipes in the shower of the master bathroom. On the latest visit by the representative (April 3, 2025) two wholes were cut in the ceiling of the garage to find the problem. I pointed a thermometer gun at the pipes and it read 43 degrees and the representative said yeah thats to cold! Then the representative sent me an email stating that its not the builders problem as the home has met code!Another warranty item is that the driveway is not sloped correctly so when it rains water puddles and also goes into the garage. The service representative has assured me that this will be fixed but I am still waiting. There are numerous other issues I have had with this home such as on the first floor SE corner bedroom the wall temperature has read 65 degrees while at the same time the ceiling of the second floor NE bedroom read 84 degrees. When the contractor came out his response was that everyones tolerance is different and that the temperature variance is acceptable. There are two circuit breakers that keep tripping so I cannot use multiple outlets. The door bell went out and the front door lock is not working properly which the last two has happened right after the warranty has expired

.There was an issue with a draft and insulation in the garage, Allied came out and so did Golden at some point.  Century submitted an invoice from Steel T Heating for this address recently too, it was an aged invoice for ***** *********, for an HVAC inspection.

Century also had a ticket from November 2024, Met with ****** with PCF and homeowner to go over water pooling in his garage. We tried a skim coat and it did not work. We will be replacing one stone in his garage and the first stone in front of his garage as soon as the weather is warm enough.

Another open ticket from ***** ********* dated 03/20/2025, Fill cavity area above garage.  ****** has already been paid to Allied.  Work was not completed. Original Ticket number  1040302

The customer relations team will be reaching out to the homeowner to review.

I am rejecting this response because:

The items I question have been ongoing for 3 years.   Contractors would come out to only look at the problem then leave, wasting my time to make arrangements for me to to be there with nothing to show for it.   The last time the insulation person never bothered to show up!

I will be satisfied when the work is done properly and everything is in working order!

      Sincerely,

A couple months after we moved in the tub in the master bathroom was running and full, and when we went to turn it off it wouldnt shut off it was just pouring water, at the moment we had no choice but take the handle off the one side to get the water off ( the stem part under the handle was broken and worn completely thats why it wasnt turning off) out in warranty request and they denied it because I HAD to take the handle off, but now the other side ( hot water) doesnt act right either, after using it will randomly pour water up to 10 min after turning off. They refuse to acknowledge this and want to blame me, they wont even come look at it. Secondly the drywall co came to fix the nail pops drywall in the bathroom and the drywall under our electric fireplace. The dry drywall *** stated he tried to fix under the fireplace but there is damage behind the wall cause after fixing it came right back through and looks worse now and that he cant fix it. I emailed and texted Century with no reply, I called a few times and finally spoke with ***** the manager, he literally said nothing expect he tried to help by sending the dry wall people and I should have not let him leave if it wasnt right, I tried to explain the *** said he cant fix it and to let century know, this was 2 weeks ago and I am still waiting on a callback from *****. My drywall shouldnt look worse now, I truly feel they didnt want to fix the tub to begin with because they didnt want to pay labor to remove tile to fix it so they are putting it off on me! I saved the broken pieces, and its still broken.

Tell us why here...Hello, this home closed on 3/22/24.
On 11/12/24 the homeowner submitted a warranty ticket about the master tub. Here is the submission:

The master tub has always been hard to turn the k*** enough to stop the water from dripping, but the other day it would not turn off we tried to turn the k*** and it would click, once we took it off the blue piece was cracked in one spot and stripped.

The above pic shows what I found when I showed up at the home on 11/12/24 between 2-3pm.

The homeowners never called the emergency line nor did they ever call the plumbers or give the plumbers a chance to inspect or repair It. I sent the pic to Northwest Plumbing and talked to *** at ****************** which she stated it is not a warrantable repair as the handle stem had been broken off and they were never notified a repair was needed.

I visited the home on 3/13/25 to inspect the drywall courtesy. The homeowner only showed me a couple of nail pops that needed to be repaired and at no point mentioned any repair to the drywall below the fireplace. The homeowner sent me a pic after the drywall guy was complete saying that the repair under the fireplace looked worse  than it did before. I called ******* at ************* and remodel, the company that did the drywall repair, and she called the technician that had been on site for the repair and he stated that the repair looked great when he was done and had told the homeowner he was complete and the home owner agreed, and he went ahead and left the home. I have not heard anymore from this home owner since the day of the repair

      No further action from Century.

I moved to there **************** in ***********.. they built this project behind a dairy farm. I moved in from another State. Not once was the dairy farm mentioned or the smell. The smell has hindered being out doors as the smell can make you puke.. and the smell gets so bad it seeps into the poorly built house. The quality of life here is only about 20% because you can barely go outside

I am rejecting this response because:  These papers were not given to us at the time of contract nor did anyone tell us about the dairy farm that is right behind my house.  I have emails and the docusign of the purchase contract prior to the signing of this document.  This is a big hindrance and should have been verbally told to us by the sales person and also we should have been presented with this paper work prior to or at the time of signing the contract.

I am filing a formal complaint regarding poor workmanship related to the front door of my home. Since moving in, the door has failed to seal properly, allowing outside air, moisture, and pests to enter the house. This issue was brought to the builder's attention during the warranty period, and while temporary adjustments were made, the underlying problem was never corrected.Despite repeated concerns, the issue persistsnow causing drafts, security concerns, and increased utility costs. Although the warranty officially ended in May 2022, this ongoing problem stems from poor installation or substandard construction materials that should not degrade so quickly.I reached out again to the builder recently but have not received a resolution. I am requesting that the builder make the necessary repairs or replacements at no cost due to the recurring nature of the defect and the lack of resolution during the warranty period.Desired Resolution:I am seeking a full inspection of the front door and frame, and for the builder to either replace or properly reseal the door to industry standardsat no cost to **** attempted to contact your team on the following dates to address this issue:May 15, 2022 Initial concern raised before moving in June 10, 2022 Follow-up email; no resolution provided November 2, 2022 Left voicemail with customer care February 8, 2023 Spoke with representative; promised follow-up, no action taken March 14, 2024 ***************** request through online portal April 16, 2025 Final phone call and email; no response received

I have had multiple issues with the builder and their warranty department since we bought the brand new home in December 2023. Items from our initial walkthrough were not completed, we had two electrical issues from one contractor cutting shared electrical lines which lead to an entire line having to be replaced, digging up multiple yards, multiple items from the 11 month walkthrough were not completed or the work was done was very badly, despite two different contracting companies handling the work. The exterior of my house is now two different colors, which has not been addressed. Contact with the warrant department has been spotting at best and nothing since I advised them of the issue with the paint. I've attached all of my warranty claims so the history is there. I also have text messages that I can share.

      Business Response

      Date: 04/22/2025

The H/O is working in the office today, so we only communicated through text. I went by and got some photos of the back of the home.

You can see the difference in paint color, but this is due to the age of the home and the normal fade.
However, since the issue that happened was already an inconvenience, I told her I would get this paint addressed. I am working on that now and told her to let me know if she has any other concerns.

She hasnt responded since that last message, but I wanted to give an update on the paint issue

We had a new home built in April 2024, by ************ that Century Communities bought out. We brought it to their attention that the sub floor was pooling after a storm. They stated they would make the necessary corrections to the sub floor, before we closed on our contract. Once the contract was closed, and we did our walk through, we noticed that the door was not hung correctly. Once warranty came to look at the door, they found out that the sub floor was not level and off by 3/4". On the back exterior wall, all the windows are not level, the back door cannot be hung correctly because the floor is off, and the ceiling line is not level and follows the un-leveled floor. This has been an open warranty ticket since July 2024. Century Communities came out with their framers and the framers stated it would have to be ripped down to the studs and sub-floor. We asked Century Communities to buy back the house, since they unethically sold it to us and not disclosed to us the issue with the sub floor. I have written to the President of the company trying to get any communication and we are not able to get any type of reply. We would appreciate any help to resolve this problem.

We responded once we received and discussed. Also, every entity that offers a warranty will not allow a 3rd party to repair something and then pay the consumer what the repair cost them without first seeing the claim and agreeing to do so... I feel we had the right view the problem and then offer a solution which is how warranty would work.

Purchased 11 months ago. Worst mistake of my life was purchasing a home through this company. This house has had so many problems since moving in. Every time the repair crews were sent out they'd cause brand new damages and then tell me they're not warranty items. While repairing a warranty item YOU cause damages then refuse to fix the damages?? I haven't been able to get a response from ***** the warranty agent since October last year. I've got water coming in windows, through light switch boxes, doors that pop open, trim that does meet up or go to the ground, door trim that hangs off the wall a solid inch, patch work that was done and never painted, smoke alarms that are defective causing random trips (had to remove it). Regardless of what this company chooses to says, there are multiple existing defects, damages caused by repair crews, and was advised by the agent to not submit certain tickets and hed just get everyone back out here havent heard from him since October.Look at their rating, look at the complaints, DO NOT purchase with this builder..

      Business Response

Tell us After CRM ***** and CM *** speaking with homeowner on today's appointment the 3 main concerns of the home were the water intrusion at light switch in living room next to front door. Multiples doors not shutting properly and all smoke alarms chiming through-out days periodically. CRM ***** has set up an appointment with trim ********* to have the 3 doors adjusted accordingly as well as an electrician to replace all smoke detectors for 4/15. The solution to the issue concerning the moisture collection at light switch is still undetermined but a deeper investigation is taking place 4/17 when siding trade can be on site to determine what is causing the intrusion of moisture. Will update team 4/17 after all appointments have taken place. why here...

I purchased my home in 2023. I recently tried to plant some plants in front of my porch only to find a huge piece of concrete 6ft long and a foot thick. I contacted the builder and was told that they are not responsible for any buried debris or sinkholes. I had a landscaper look at it and was told that it was probably runoff from when they poured the concrete for the porch. Previously I pulled a 6 ft piece of wire from the ground. I paid over a half of million for my home and to be treated in this manner is a major insult

A member of our management team has reached out to the homeowner and evaluated their concern. While this issue is not covered under the Limited Warranty, Century Communities values homeowner satisfaction and has agreed, as a goodwill gesture, to remove or cut back the excess concrete where possible against the front porch. Century Communities remains committed to fulfilling our warranty obligations and providing quality service to our homeowners.

Low water pressure throughout the entire home. I replaced the aerators myself and contacted Century and submitted A service request. The request has been open for three weeks without any response to my follow up messages. They are wanting me to go pay for A filter out of pocket without first repairing the issue.
