Oak Ridge bought my account from another trash service, ** ******. My account was on hold, but an error in the transaction lead to several months of charges. My property at issue is empty, no home, with upcoming plans to build. At one point I wanted trash cans for the rare trip to collect food wrappers etc, so had them delivered. Then put the account on hold after the summer with the prior company. When Oak Ridge purchased my account, this hold status was not conveyed. I kept getting bills. I called many times for about a year, and each time was reassured that the problem was fixed, and each time a supervisor was contact while I was on hold. Each time I was assured that the problem was fixed. Then I was sent to collections for a paltry sum of $80, now with an impact on my credit score. I called again today, asking for someone with capacity to understand the issue. The supervisor was incompetent and unable to understand my reason for calling (which was to find a way for them to keep my business for when a house is built, like giving me a credit for this amount that I will now pay the collections agency). Or even to apologize for this huge hassle. The point is, they have responded in a reasonable way for any business entity. I'm upset about the number of wasted hours I've spent on hold and on the phone, with no resolution, and their lack of interest in fixing a problem that generated on their end entirely. I am moved to file this complaint because of the impending impact on my credit.Initial Complaint

I canceled our service with Oakridge on August 15, 2002. I had an overpayment of $101.85 and was assured that my refund would be mailed to me. I repeatedly called in September and October to find out where my refund was and was told that it was "approved on September 1, 2022. I have been with Oakridge for many years and have always paid on time. I am at a loss as to why two months in a row, my statement which I have uploaded for your review and shows the credit has not mailed me my refund. I told Oakridge on our last phone call on 9/30/22 that I would not be calling them again and would take my complaint to the BBB, the town times and if needed to small claims court. Please let these documents serve as my proof that they have owed me my refund for two consecutive months.Initial Complaint

Over the past year I have called to notify Oak Ridge that they have not been picking up my trash. They have said they were challenged by the pandemic and were short-staffed on multiple occasions but still charged me for the pick-ups. This happened several times over the holiday season from 2021 into 2022. I've called this summer to tell them this was still happening and yet they were continuing to charge me for service that was not rendered. I now there was a period of time between May and June 2022 that they did not pick up for several weeks. Also, on other pick up days, they have not picked up. I called again to complain but the last time they said that I have to contact the person who manages the drivers and they could not issue me a credit. I called this person, Tom Slattery, and never received a phone call back. I am still receiving bills for services that never happened. I have requested that they provide me with record of pick-ups and they said they have record that things were picked up (they were not!). Today I called again as I received a late payment notification (I am always on time with paying my bills except in cases when someone does not actually do the job) and I had not received any explanation or a call back from the manager. Today, for the first time, they said they were not picking up because the cans were not at the curb. The cans have never been right at the curb but are next to it. They have never indicated they needed to be closer to the curb. I don't have a garage and the cans are literally 5 feet from the curb. They also had multiple opportunities to tell me this and never did. I would like them to show a record of the times they have picked up the trash, otherwise, I can assume they did not. I would like a refund for all the times the trash was not picked up and a correction on the recent bills for services that were never delivered. The customer service has been very unhelpful and this has been going on for months.Initial Complaint

On June 22 Friday 2022, I left my garbage out as I have for 2 years now.. No one came by 9:am I assumed running late. Called girl she said you were Locked out . I said why I paid you 50.00 On June 28 which was for all of July and a couple dollars more ( I owed 48.75) but paid more... She said I owe for AUGUST... I said its not august yet!! She said they locked account and she could not unlock it! I was very upset.. This never happened before I have always paid monthly as I am a senior and use my soc security so pay monthly..IT NEVER WAS AN issue.. They would send a reminder notice and when I called they always said you are fine... She stated they sent me a notice I said I did not get it and have the proof. It came that afternoon in the mail AFTER THE FACT.. saying I owe 47.49? It was the same notice I sometimes got and every time I called As I said girl said I was fine...And another time I told a girl that I Pay with my soc security monthly, she said she'll mark it on the account.. So after two years of no problems that was my payment arrangement!! NO ONE EVER LOCKED ME OUT WITH NO NOTICE . NOT EVEN A PHONE CALL..I called Back Friday June 22 before noon again. The girl then said she'll send me a check for 15.00 I cancelled acct... After thinking about it I called again Wed July 27 I told the girl you owe my money back for two pickups Friday July 22 ( when they did not come-locked out -was paid for) and for July 29 Friday plus the little overage I paid.. She said no we do not owe you for Friday July 22 that you did not cancel then.. I said I did too after you locked my acct and did not show up. How do you think it got cancelled... It was cancelled that day after NO show and my acct being locked so they instructed Driver not to come. I have paid them they need to refund me for JULY 22 FRIDAY as well and for July 29 Friday and the little overage that was in the 50.00 I paid for July.. You cannot talk to management there, there is no way to talk to them..Initial Complaint

We were customers of Winters Brothers/Oak Ridge Waste since 2015. We recently moved and informed them of the change of address. Upon moving, and before they had performed any service at the new address, we cancelled our service with Oak Ridge in favor of another company. Despite performing no services for us at our new address, Oak Ridge sent us a bill for $33.67. Furthermore, they owe us $131.11 from overpayment of our last bill at our last address. When I called to confirm the situation I was told we owe nothing and Oak Ridge would be sending us a check for 131.11. No check arrived.Initial Complaint

I canceled services with the company after they suspended services due to payment problems on my end. And they still have not picked up their containers for one and they are now sending me a bill showing charges for the next three months but have not been picking up my garbage. I have sent many requests for them to pick it up, I have also been sending them monthly payments as to what I can afford to pay off the bill up to the point of suspension of service. I have sent numerous mailings as to them picking up their containers with no response and I continue to receive letters from them saying I am not responding to them to collect payment but yet they have been getting payments from me. I will pay them their last payment for my last bill but shouldn’t have to pay more than expected and I don’t feel I need to return the containers they should pick them up. They are threatening me with court. This is totally ridiculous because they have received payments and they are over charging and I have documentation of all of thisInitial Complaint

I received a letter from this company on 3/28/22 telling me I they have made several attempts to collect a bill for $513.70 , and if they don't received payment in 5 days they will submit this (form) letter to court as evidence I refuse to make payment. First, I've never received anything from this company asking for payment. Second, I have no invoices from this company. Third, I have no record in my files for having used this company. I've attached a copy of this letter. It is inconceivable they would ask me to pay a debt without providing documentation.
