1 starHorrible company! I recently moved from NJ to PA on 8/23/2024 and after not having a car for over 6 yrs, purchased a new vehicle. I opted for Travelers Auto Insurance because it was the most affordable and paid for the full coverage 6 months policy upfront. When speaking with the initiating rep, they assured me it wouldn't be an issue using my new PA address, while working to transition my NJ license. Unfortunately, the dealerships in PA were saying differently, so I had to switch to a NJ policy. Call Travelers back and the next rep is telling me it can't be done and I would have to cancel the policy. Fine. Cancel it. This is the very next day, mind you, 8/27/2024. I ended up having to go with Progressive, way more expensive, but it had to be done. Fast forward to today, 9/10/2024 and I have been calling Travelers about my $1500 refund and getting nowhere! Friday they said I should see it Sunday, Monday at the latest. I call today, Tuesday, and they said they put a hold on my refund, per company policy -without telling me- in the event that I decided to renew my policy and the only way to get my refund was to dispute the charge with my bank or wait for a check. DESPITE THE FACT THAT I PAID WITH MY CARD, WHICH IS STILL FINE AND ACTIVE!! Scammers!! Do not waste your time with this company!!!Review fromGerald O

2 starsThis insurer kept threatening non-renewal and sending rude letters regarding purely cosmetic, non-insurable issues. Mind you, our home and property is one of the nicer in the neighborhood, so we always have a bucket list of improvements and maintenance. We moved to State Farm with no further harassment.Review fromBryce K

1 starI was a big fan of Traveler's for my auto insurance when I was the victim of a hit and run. I am thankful they came to my rescue when the other driver was caught but discovered to have no insurance. However, for my housing needs, they cancelled me due to lawn debris during a fence replacement project. The project, which required brush and panel removal, was permitted by the city but was abruptly put on hold when Traveler's conducted a random inspection of my property. Due to the looming cancellation of my policy, I have lost months of progress on the renovation. I have honestly felt held hostage by this company and regret the time and energy I have spent to meet their demands. The irony is that all of the upgrades would have made the property more resistant to fire, but they would hear none of this. Shop elsewhere if you can.Review fromGinger S

1 starMy homeowner's claim was auto-denied by "just a desk adjuster" Lindsay N**** without any review, inspection, or even a verbal conversation. That is pretty illegal. I made a complaint to Traveler's, Josh B***** took over, yet he has no authority over Lindsay or the department she works in, and not only did he do nothing at all to resolve the issue she caused, he also doesn't return phone calls and he sent me 2 emails ridden with pathetic excuses for his lack of ability to perform his job duties. I have since found a new insurance carrier who is a true carrier and not a formality (in other words, I'm insured with a real company who doesn't lie about offering coverage in case a claim happens). I cancelled all my Travelers policies due to being forced to work with the Inept Josh B***** and Untrained Lindsay N****. Dear Travelers, best of luck in your success considering people are now starting to notice your illegal claims and underwriting processes.Review fromMaria T.

1 starTraveler's through ***** bundle. Decided to change our homeowners insurance for a better rate. Sadly had to deal with ***** because Traveler's would not assist because ***** was the go between. We were advised that an inspection would be done of our property. Received a notice of issues to address, uneven roof and woodstove needed inspection. Travelers stated a roof replacement would need to be done. We advised our financial situation was tight and we could hire our own inspection of the roof and would provide feedback. We were advised by our roof inspection that yes the shingles were worn but no leaks of roof and roof would be good for 2 more years. We also had our own inspection of the woodstove and it was ok but had a few issues. We received a cancelation notice and refund check from Travelers my guess because we were not meeting their standards. We were informed by ***** that the refund check was standard practice and if we provide what was required the policy would be updated and the refund check would be void and the policy would be active. We constantly contacted ***** with no response. Left voice messages and emails. We decided to get a loan for the cost of the roof to be replaced $15,500.00. We had the weekend to have the job done and it was, we met the deadline date. We provide proof of cost by email along with before and after pictures and informing we decided to do away with the woodstove. The chimney no longer exists in the pictures. We attempted to contact ***** and Travelers of our situation with no satisfaction. We were still canceled. Sadly this is the way some business treat their customers. Definitely a lack of customer service by both companies. We decided to do all we can to inform others to avoid both ***** and Travelers so that they avoid what happened to us. Sadly no decency and lack of consideration to the customers ??Review fromDon A

1 starI was driving on the Interstate when one of their insured 18-wheelers loaded with rebar for freeway construction changed into my lane without looking. I slammed on the brakes but still impacted the truck at about 65 miles per hour. My car was demolished and hurled 30 feet into the retainer wall. The driver stopped about 1000 feet ahead, never came back to see if anyone was injured or needed help, and then lied to the highway patrol, and said that I just rear-ended him, Fortunately, I had a witness, a woman driving behind the truck, who worked for Cal Trans, a state transportation department. Never an apology. The accident occurred in a poor area so a jury trial would have been useless. I had to have three operations, a double disk replacement in my neck, surgery on my lower back, and on my left hand. Also, about 16 MRIs and about 25 cortisone injections, most of which into my spine. My medical bills were around a million dollars. The insurance company and their lawyers know that my lawyer would take 40% off the top, which at a $1.8 million settlement would be $710,000, leaving me with $90,000 for pain and suffering, physical therapy (my back and neck are still not much better and my hand hurts constantly) and any future medical costs. The policy was for $11 million per accident. I have lost close to 2000 hours of work as a result. I now have constant headaches, dizziness, and trouble concentrating. If I need another surgery it will cost upwards of $50,000 and physical therapy costs $100 per hour. And who knows what else I will need for future care. In the end, I will probably wind up owing money with nothing for continued pain and suffering. But I guess insurance companies get away with whatever they can. But tell me why, with a one-star consumer rating, does the BBB give them an A+?Review fromLaura W

1 starAwful customer service. Also asked for my adult college children for their roommates name and date of birth! Isn’t that a violation of privacy??Review fromTroy M

1 starUsing unofficial drones over my house violating my privacy as a home owner. We have a wall for my own privacy which means I can be undressed in my backyard and it not your business . Its no one business whats in my back yard. Checking on my cars in my backyard is none of your business. Sending out a letter to me requesting information about my cars is none of your business. Your letter stated that my roof roof may have a leak, and that is not true. If I had a leak, I would have filed a claim. This is the way **** goes after folks that have paid off there houses. ***** can not be trusted. Review made by Troy MorganReview fromMesha B

1 starIf I could give no stars I would! I am so disappointed in the service I have received. The first issue. I turned off my autopay for my annual payment only to still be charged. I got in touch with a rep and explained the situation and was told I have to turn my auto pay off 9 days prior to my payment. I informed the rep that I did not get that notification, otherwise I would've never turned it off if they were going to take it anyway. Since it was still pending on my end, he stated once it cleared, the amount would be refunded to my account. Well 2 full days passed, and I got back in touch with them only to be told that my account won't be refunded until 8/24, per their policy. I was never once told the date, I was told once it clears, funds would be refunded. Now I am out of pocket until I get paid again because of their mistake. I am highly dissatisfied and now have to try to dispute these charges with my bank.Review fromJustin W

1 starThese people suck so bad it makes Geico look good. I have never had so much trouble with an insurance company. First thing they did was deduct $2500 from me because of a previous four or five months before this tractor-trailer rubbed up against my car and took the paint off so they deducted $2500 cause I didn’t get it fixed, I’ve never seen that before they take forever after they get the title to issue the check which they weren’t supposed to issue a check. They were supposed to sell me because I don’t have an address right now because I’m in the middle of a divorce, and I got pushed out of my own house because of the judge . She’s refusing to answer my phone calls. She’s refusing to answer my emails to the payment they did last time. Oh no, we can’t do that on top of that for some odd reason my wife owns half the car which she owns none of the car first she thought there was a lien on it , I paid cash for this five months ago you know what I didn’t get the value of the car first had to point out that they were putting it as a standard Ford Mustang turbo not the premium and I was like oh that’s a premium turbo made adjustments the adjustment 1000 bucks I’m sorry that’s a $3000 option. Had to have them completely pissed off because I’m tired of dealing with email. Whatever happened to picking up the phone and calling the customer I’m sorry. Do you want me to stop payment on my payments? Maybe I should just not pay you for a while. See how you like. I bet you cancel me real fast but it’s the same damn thing I want my damn money so I can go get my car trying to tell me then they’re not gonna extend the rental either, I’m sorry you haven’t paid my money yet so you must extend the rental you’re not gonna put me on foot. You suck you suck harder than my ex-wife which is hard to beat. #TravelerSucks Insurance company think they can get away with whatever they want dealing with the wrong person.
