      I signed up with ADT because I was leaving on a deployment and wanted the peace and mind of my home being protected. I got back 9 months later and decided I didnt have a need for a security system anymore so when I went ahead to cancel I come to find out I had signed a 7 year contract. I was unaware I was signing in for 7 whole years. I was shocked. This was about 5 years ago. I dont live in the house where the system is installed and I dont use their services but I still pay monthly to ADT in full. There hasnt been any way to get out of the contract. I wish I had read the full contract instead of trusting the the salesman/installation person. I would stay very clear from the company. They are overpriced and do not have your best interest in mind.

      I have been an ADT customer for 20 years (in *********) and was very happy. when we were moving to *******, my Tennessee agent who is amazing helped me select the right security system for our new home, which included 4 ****** Nest cameras.The local technician who came to install it informed me that he could not install ****** cameras because there was no power where the cameras were going to be installed. He then informed me that he can offer an alternative and replace the ****** Cameras with Wisenet system. What he did not tell me was that this was CCTV. Despite the fact that it was going to cost a lot more I agreed to have it installed.Within a couple of days, I knew these were not very good quality cameras as they continually buffered and often needed to be rebooted.I called customer service and explained the situation and was told that they will need to send another technician to check the system and make sure we cannot install ****** cameras. So, the technician came and confirmed it could not be done. I also explained the issues with the Wisenet system.Well, I did not hear back this time either. So, I called again and was informed that even though the cameras I was sold were not working properly and even though I was not fully informed about the system, I did not qualify for six-month return policy. When I asked why no explanation was given, was simply told it is the contract. So, I had another company remove the cameras and install proper security cameras.I paid more than $1,400 for something that belongs in he trash.But it gets worst, I was still being charged monthly monitoring fee for cameras that ae not being used. So, I called and asked to cancel the monitoring charges removed for cameras removed from my account. I was told cancelling this will result in $623.81 penalty. So, after paying $1,400 for cameras that I can't use now they want to charge me $623.81 for monitoring the cameras that they are not really monitoring!! Can't make this up.

      My gosh, don't even call, A bunch of lies and traps. Quote you on the phone taking a hour of your time, send tech out, then the price jumps up and you don't get what they say your gonna get and takes over half a day to get rid of them, then they come back with a lower price. They are a Joke, lies, in trap you and they don't call back. It's all a rip off. The cameras they have are the same you can get from Amazon plus the ones ADT have only shown up to 30feet at night when you can order better ones on ****** with longer range and 90 percent cheaper in price.WARNING?? Run, stay away.

      Hello BBB how are you letting ADT rip us off like this. They have 2800 one star reviews!!! How long before the ** getting involved for these atrocious lies and deception. Please read the 2800 reviews and do something about these scam artist.

      If I could give them a negative score I would. Do NOT do business with them. I was a customer for more than 10 years. I called 5 times to cancel my service. They never cancelled the service and sent me to collections. I have the dates and times that I spoke with their employees and their employees failed to do their job. This organization is incompetent and a ripoff. They want their customers to pay for their employees mistakes. Avoid them get a ring camera!

      Ordered ADT late March 2025. They installed the next day and told me I had 72 hours to cancel. I did so because the service did not work. Called ADT 3x times and they said they would be out to fix it the next day. They NEVER showed up and the service STILL does not work. I never had a chance to use it! Now they want $1800 for services that never worked and forwarded it to a collection agency!NOT going to pay it!

      Ive been with ADT on and off for quite some time now. Im trying to cancel my service because Im SELLING my house which is more than enough of a reason to cancel without charge. I bought an investment property and now I dont need ADT anymore. No one informed me of an early termination fee. When I first inquired about ADT, I was paying much lower than what Im paying now. Every year the monthly price goes up. Did I mention my camera constantly stops working every other month ? What security am I paying for. Theres always an issue with the camera especially where Im at. Whether the wind blows the camera off the mount or the battery constantly dies. Id like to cancel my service free of charge. The dont update you on rate increases or anything.

      I am extremely disappointed with ADT. Multiple representatives assured me that my system supported voice command, which was a key reason I signed up. After installation, I discovered this feature does not even exist. This is not just misleadingits a safety ***********, less than two months later, Im being told I have to pay for a system that does me no good. I plan to return the equipment and cancel my service, but I should never have been misled in the first place.ADT needs to take responsibility, provide accurate information upfront, and resolve this issue without charging customers for their mistakes.

      Disgusting company. Made it impossible to cancel then continued charging us. Then sent us to collections. Never ever work with ADT.

      I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding my most recent experience with ADT, a company with which I have maintained loyalty for well over 20 years across numerous residences while moving with the military. While I have experienced issues in the past, nothing compares to the magnitude of this latest incident.Recently, we had an issue with a window sensor and scheduled a technician to come out. Upon arrival, the technician discovered that one sensor was connected to two others, requiring all three to be replaced. This was understandable and acceptable to me. However, during his inspection, we also discovered that our system had not been monitored for the past couple of years despite our continued payments. This alone is deeply troubling and raises serious concerns about ADTs reliability and integrity.Because of this, we decided to upgrade to a new panel and sensors. While the technician was working on the installation, his manager repeatedly called him, pressuring him about going home for the day. At this point, my panels were already removed from the wall, and my home was left completely unprotected. The technician himself expressed concern about leaving my alarm system incomplete and vulnerable, but management insisted that he stop working regardless.I was later informed that the individual making this decision was **** *., described to me as the local office manager in *****. I was told that he does not approve overtime, and therefore, my homes security was disregarded so that the technician could leave. In my opinion, this behavior demonstrates a complete lack of compassion, empathy, or responsibility for customer safety. It is unthinkable that a manager would leave a long-time customer without an alarm system, a situation I am confident he would never accept for his own home.This is *****% unacceptable on every level. After more than two decades of loyalty, I feel deeply disrespected and unprotected.
