      replace door that they bought and installed in our lanai . the storm door is disintegrating. cannot be closed the company refuses to do it . wants me to pay for a new and install another for $2000 they said it is out of warrantee.. the door manufacture says the warrantee is for 10 years.. not one year

      I am aware of this customer. We installed windows and an ******** storm door on his home.
      Our warranty is for a period of one year against defective products and labor on all of our projects. The customer was informed of this at the time of the sale,  and he has been informed that he is well outside of his warranty through my company.
      We have informed him that the manufacturer of the door (********) will warranty any defects in the door. However, he is responsible for filing the claim for the door, not me. I have a suspicion that his door is being damaged by sprinklers, or even more likely, it has been damaged by hurricanes and storms. So I believe the homeowner knows they wont give him a new door because of this. 

      As far as the $2,000 quote that we gave him for a new door, he is also being dishonest about that as well. We did give him that price, but it was for a 2 prime door with a deadbolt lock that will hold up better to the apparent abuse that his door is receiving. It will not be the same door. He had the option to purchase this door originally, but he opted for the less expensive storm door. 

      We purchase storm doors through THE ********** in bundles of 12 or more, so individual receipts are not available for the doors. But every door has a serial # on it and we can provide the install date of the door for the customer to provide to ******** for the warranty. (The homeowner has this info already)
      Usually I am willing to help people and work with them in situations like this, but this customer Mr. ***************** is very rude, and very entitled. He badgers my employees on the phone, and even though he knows his project is out of warranty, he still expects me to fix it for free. For me to install a new door out of my pocket just to be nice is $1000 after all of my expenses. So its not really the logical option. 

      I have personally spoken to him twice for over 20 minutes total, and he has spoken to 4 other employees of my company. 

      I owe this man nothing, but I am willing to give him the information he needs for his ******** warranty. Outside of that he will need to pay for my services. 

      ******** will only warranty the door, not the labor to install it. 

      Again, several people have spoken to this man, and he simply refuses to believe that we wont give him a free door. He believes he is *********** that, and he is not. I install hundreds of these doors per year, and they never ever disintegrate. There is an outside force causing the door to fall apart and I believe the homeowner is concealing it.

      I am rejecting this response because:all I was asking for was replacement door  ***** called me and used the f word and he was the one that was rude I am now dealing with the manufacturer of the door I planed to install the door myself  I just thought it would good business if he could have helped. Instead he was the rude one I didnt use filthy language as he did

      Thank you for confirming what I stated in my original response. You were out of warranty and still expected a door replacement from me. I appreciate your honesty and confirming that so everyone who sees this will know. 

      Yes, I did use the * word with you. You called me every single day badgering me constantly about a project that was out of warranty. I told you over and over again that you had to file a claim with ******** for your door. Which you told me you actually did, but for some reason you were still calling me to get a new door installed. Your wife was in the background of the call calling me an "asshole" for not giving you a new door. So, I got frustrated and said, "This is f****** ridiculous." I did not call you a name or insult you in any way. I'm sorry you got so offended. 

      I honestly don't need you to accept the resolution because you have no reason to complain in the first place.  

      I work hard and provide excellent service and honor all of my warranties that are in date, and I will not be bullied by entitled people who think the deserve a lifetime service from me just because they hired me for a small project. You should be ashamed of yourself. 

      Anyone who reads this should know that this is a meritless claim, and the main reason I don't give in to this man is because I refuse to be bullied. He thinks that by leaving a bad review, he will get what he wants. Unfortunately for him I am a parent and I have learned how to deal with this kind of behavior. 

      Everyone sees what you're doing Mr. ****************** and no one cares.

      I had precision aluminum & remodeling come to my condo for a free estimate to get sliders for my lanai then we started talking about bathroom remodels Darrin showed me pictures and I showed him pictures of what I was looking for ,he talked me out of a pocket door in the master he said it would be a lot of $$$$ I was happy for the advice, that was 5/16 so signed to contracts with him 1 for sliders and 1 for bathrooms gave a deposit total of 10500.he said he would send me a list of what I needed the next days never heard back from them till 5/26 and was told he emailed me the list he never tidbit ***** didi was told that **** be here on 5/31 he canceled I changed my day around For him...he came on weds to do demo in the master I told him what I spoke about with Darren and Darren sent me a picture and **** said thats not what he was told ,he called the office and said Darren would be down tomorrow, also **** did not have a permit to start..the growth and management for collier county said no work could be started I'm in a condo complex ,which ***** told me that wasn't true I offered to do a 3 way to the permit office, after **** left I felt un easy I called there office spoke to **** told her to cancel ****** coming here, and I wanted to cancel the bathroom contract and she ***** would have to call me about that,***** told me if I cancelled they were keeping deposit,cause I didn't cancel 3 days after I signed the contract I had no intention of canceling til all of the confusion started ,they came here 3 times 1-free estimate 2-to start a demo without a permit 3 for a appointment that I cancelled, he said go ahead file at the bbb "I have a good working relation with the bbb" I will send copies of the bldg codes and all text and emails ,between ***** and I,it was horrible I am a senior on disability ,I don't feel like I have to pay to cancel, he has kept a 1000.when 1st happened I said put the bath money towards the bal and send bal.to me there contracts are confusing

      Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/06/28) */ This is a very clear-cut case that can only be responded to with very clear and legal documentation. 1) The homeowner called us to her home to enclose her lanai with acrylic windows, a contract was written for $9,500.00 and a $3,500.00 Deposit was paid to order the windows. The contract is very clear stating that the price is $9,500.00. Mrs. *** has claimed that the price is $8,500.00 because the estimator did not write the final payment on the work order, he simply wrote the word "done". Meaning that the final balance is due when the job is done. This does not mean that the final balance is deducted from the agreed upon price. I will attach a copy of this work order to this response. It is signed by the homeowner AND she paid the deposit. It very clearly shows a total of $9500.00 2)After signing the contract for the lanai project, the homeowner asked if we remodel bathrooms. The estimator responded with yes, and she subsequently had him write a contract to remodel (2) of her bathrooms. This contract is very clear on the scope of work and was signed by the homeowner. The total price of this was $23,400. A deposit of $7,000.00 was paid for this separate work order. So, she paid a total of $10,500.00 to Precision Aluminum and Remodeling Inc. in deposits. 3) Mrs. ***' windows are on order and the job will be completed when they arrive, we are simply waiting on them. They are paid for, and custom ordered and cannot be cancelled for any reason. I HAVE ATTACHED THE WINDOW ORDER 4) On May 27th (Thursday) I called Mrs. *** and told her that my installer would be there the following Tuesday (May 31st) to start remodeling her shower. I did this to make sure that she had ample time to pick out all the tiles necessary. She said she was very excited and that sounded great. I have email correspondence showing this exchange. On Tuesday when my installer arrived, Mrs. *** began telling him to do work that was not included in the contract in any way. The extra work she wanted was to tear out a wall in her bathroom (requires a permit, engineer, and electrical subcontractor because it is a commercial condo unit), and to install a header beam to hang a barn door. Our estimator had discussed hanging the barn door for her for free, but never discussed building a header to hang it from. Nothing about removing a wall or installing a header for the barn door exists in her contract. It was at this point we pulled our installer from the job and began discussing the project with Mrs. ***. We explained that we were happy to do the extra work, but she was not charged to do it and we would have to charge her. She claims Darren sent her a photo that shows the wall being torn out, but the photo Shes referencing was sent to show the way the tile would be installed. 5) Once we told Mrs. *** we would not do the extra work for free, she said she wanted to cancel the bathroom project. It was at this point I explained to her that the estimator on the project gets paid only after the project passes the 3-day cancellation period, and that he had been paid already. I also explained that my installer was paid for the day to come to her home already. After explaining this I agreed with her on a $1,000.00 deduction from her deposit of $7,000.00 6) I told her the other $6,000.00 of her deposit will be applied to her window contract, that has a $6,000.00 balance. So, no refund was necessary, and her window project is now paid in full. This is company policy in situations like this, because the existing window project has a balance owed, and we can't allow the cancellation of the bathroom project to be used as leverage on the window project. 7) After this was agreed upon, she then began to email and say that the contract for the windows is incorrect, and that the price is $8,500, instead of $9,500 because the final balance wasn't written in. This is simply not true and is very clear Mrs. *** is trying to get out of paying the $1,000 cancellation fee on the bathroom project. 8)After several phone calls, emails, and texts I explained to Mrs. *** that the agreements were final, and I was not interested in any further discussion on the matter. Her Bathroom project is now cancelled, and her window project is paid in full, her windows will be installed as soon as they arrive. I legally DO NOT have to allow her to cancel anything. I could hold her liable for the entire bathroom work order, but I'm not. I will not lose money out of my pocket for a cancelled project. I am happy to let her cancel, but she must pay me for what I have paid on the project. 9) Her original bathroom project DID NOT require a permit. It was a cosmetic remodel. We were not changing the shower pan, plumbing, or any electrical. But she tried to call the BDP and pressure me to let her cancel because the job was supposed to have a permit. Her idea of the project would require a permit, but that simply is not what was included in her contract. 10) I am including copies of her contracts so there is no confusion, there will be the handwritten and the typed version of each. You will very clearly see nothing about a barn door or wall removal. I will also include copies of email correspondence as well. IN CONCLUSION: I WORKED WITH MRS. *** PERSONALLY FOR WEEKS TO TRY AND STRAIGHTEN OUT THE ISSUES. BUT WE CAN NOT DO WORK FOR FREE, AND THAT IS ULTIMATELY WHAT SHE WANTED. I AM STILL CONTRACTED TO DO THE LANAI WINDOWS, AND PLAN ON INSTALLING THEM AS SOON AS THEY ARRIVE. SHE HAS NEVER COMMUNICATED THAT SHE WANTED TO CANCEL THAT PROJECT UNTIL THIS COMPLAINT. THE WINDOW PROJECT CAN NOT BE CANCELLED AT THIS POINT. I HAVE BENT OVER BACKWARDS AND ALLOWED HER TO CANCEL A PROJECT THE DAY WE CAME TO START IT, WEEKS AFTER HER CANCELLATION PERIOD. I DO NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ANYONE, AND IN THIS SITUATION, I AM THE ONE THAT SOMEONE IS TRYING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF AND I WILL NOT ALLOW IT. THANKYOU AND HAVE A GREAT DAY Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/07/07) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) 1-Darren never emailed me .2-**** cancelled the morning of may 31,he came on june1.(3).- yes I signed 2 contracts(4)I gave ***** the phone #for collier county growth management (5)Darren did send me a picture of what I thought I was getting.(6)I did not look at the contracts until June 1st.(7)on June 1st **** came to my condo to start the demo of my shower.(8)**** and I went over what I thought I was getting, he was aggravated not a me because of the confusion, he also certain people shouldn't do contracts for remodels and this happens a lot. **** also said that there is no such thing as frameless shower door that was on my contract.(9)the 2 contracts that I signed the schedule payments were set up different.(10)the shower had a deposit-payment on start date payment when tile goes in and bal due when done.(11)the slider payment schedule was deposit, payment on start date bal due when done.(12)Darren told me once the doors come it only takes a day to installs do I give a payment in the morning and a payment at the end of the day?(13) on June 1st you sent a non permitted(permit in hand) worker to start a job that needed a permit.(14)I got an arc form from the condo association,and they said I need a permit.(15)July 5th at 11:30 a.m. I met with *** ***** at growth management,he is the residential plans reviewer for naples.he confirmed that a permit was needed for the original contract.(16) he said the only tile that is exempt from a permit is floor tiles will send a copy of exemptions that he gave me.(17)*** ***** also a shower is not consider a fixture because it has no shut off valve,a toilet and a vanity are considered fixtures because the have shut off valves.(18) I signed the contract on may 16 your company had plenty of time to get a permit.(19) I like how you didn't send in your response to my email about the bbb and an attorney helps seniors, your response was threating and I felt like you were trying to bully me into not contacting the bbb or council.(20) your contract was voided when you decided not to get a permit and follow collier county codes.I will attache the picture that Darren said he never mega copy of exemptions from the county and your email response .I am sending documents separate. You signed legally binding contracts and claim that you did not read them until weeks after you signed them. It's simply not logical. As I told you. I believed we did not need a permit for your bathroom remodel. If it turned out that we did, I would happily apply for one. But the permit to do the wall removal that you added after the fact, WAS NOT included. It requires an engineer and an electrical subcontractor. Not getting a permit has nothing to do with the contract. If I would be in violation for doing work without a permit and without a license, then it would be voided because I'm not legally allowed to do the work. But I DO have a license, and I can easily get a permit if one is needed. So, the contract is still very much valid. This is all I have to say. No refund will be given. When the Lanai windows arrive, I will install them. I HAVE ATTACHED THE EMAIL CHAIN THAT YOU REFERENCED AS "FUNNY". ALL I DID WAS TELL YOU THAT IM NOT AFRAID OF YOUR ATTORNEY OR BBB COMPLAINT. I have proof that you sent a worker here with no permit to start...your response "if it turns out we need a permit, which I don't think it will we would get one" so that tells me you never checked to see if needed a permit or not is it.. your practice is to start a job and then get a permit??? I know you are licensed doesn't me can start a job without a permit.you are not legally allowed to do that.The codes for growth management are quite detailed, and finally what are you talking about email chain that I named Funny that is not true I never named it ,you must have,,,also when the sliders come I prefer someone other than you to install I don't want you on my property after the Nasty emails and phone calls.

      Feb 24 I contacted precision aluminum for new screen a frame ,they wanted $200 down payment ,paid, told it would be 2 weeks before start. Waited for them to start ,nothing, I canceled, they said they would have my check on Thursday, nothing, called an was told it would be Friday, nothing again. Called on Monday an was told I waited to long to cancel, don't know how long is long , and now they won't refund my deposit, this is a veteran owned company an I'm a senior and a veteran, is this the way they treat people

      Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/03/30) */ Mr. ***** signed a legally binding work order with Precision Aluminum and Remodeling Inc. on Feb 24th, 2021. It is clearly stated on our work orders and in the law that legally you have 3 days to cancel the project. After the 3 days materials for the project are ordered and employees are paid to organize the project. Mr. ***** did not contact us until March 24th, a month after signing the work order. He did not send a cancellation in writing or in an email. He claims he cancelled via the phone. But we have no record of this. During the current climate our lead time is 4-6 weeks for install. Mr. ***** was made aware of this at the time of sale. Mr. ***** received a cheaper price from a Handyman inside his community and decided to have him do the project before we could get to it. This is a breach of contract and is penalized by the forfeiture of his deposit, as it is not fair to ask my employees to give back the money, they were paid to organize the project. This is a very clear case of Mr. ***** not being truthful about the details associated with his project. He claims he was unable to get ahold of anyone about his cancellation, but this is also untruthful. His work order has several contact points, please see below: 1) The Address of our office that is 10 min from his house, open 7am-4pm M-F 2)3 different phone numbers to call 3) A website that has a "contact us" page where it emails the owner directly 4) An email address for the estimator in charge of his project (He emailed his estimator several times about details regarding the project, but never about cancelling) HE DID NOT USE ANY OF THESE POINTS OF CONTACT TO CANCEL HIS PROJECT. Precision Aluminum and Remodeling Inc. always prefers to do the work that we are contracted to do. In this case Mr. ***** hired a separate, unlicensed contractor to do his project, while being under contract with us. It would be unethical for me to take money away from my employees that have been paid because he decided to breach his contract. He was unable to provide us with the other company's name or provide a work order with this other company. I don't know what else to say regarding this matter, he was told 4-6 weeks from the start, and is saying that we told him 2 weeks to try and get a refund. He very clearly got a cheaper price and decided to try and get out of his other obligation even though materials were ordered, and employees were paid. This is an illegitimate complaint, which is why I am personally responding to it. Mr. ***** needs to take responsibility for his actions. Sincerely, Caleb C.
