I had the similar story only this time it would only cost $4,500 and if additional yards were needed it would be $45.00 a yard vs what he typically would get $85.00 a yard. I outlined the area to be paved and confirmed several times it would only cost $4,500 and he said yes which would also include removing the old blacktop. In addition I insisted that the blacktop stay 1 below the garage floor. The blacktop is now even with the garage floor, he created a swale to take care of the rain and the way its designed will flood an area up against the foundation. I told I cant even wash my car he said wash it up by the street. He only removed maybe a 20 long by 5 wide area of blacktop. Now the whole driveway is higher than the foundation. So, to enter the house I will need to add a step down and then a step up. Plus add drainage and a sump pump. After what he call it was completed he hands me a bill for $13,950.00, plus he wanted the check made out to him and not his company. I almost had an heart attack. I said I dont have that much money in my checking and he said make a transfer (now hes telling what to do to get paid in full) Obviously Im very upset, then after the sealer was dry, I checked out other areas and its a mess. He did stop back and said none of my ************* to be corrected and I would have to wait until it rains before doing anything in front of the garages. Plus he started to argue with me and dropped some F words. He said hes gotten several jobs on my street because of his job. Plus told me not to discuss the deal I got from him!We are in the middle of a remodeling job on our house and have used several venders. All have been excellent to work with and have exceeded our expectations until now. I would not recommend Just Blacktop and *****************

I have recently dealt with Just Blacktop. Joe **** advised he could spread asphalt for $30.00 yard as he had some left over from his current job. He came out and verbally told me about 100 yards. Which would be about $3000.00. I had no idea how much 100 yards would do. He had me sign an intent to work at $30.00 yard. They left and came back out a few days later I was not home and they started working. Not much was done that day, they came back out the next day. Again I was at work. When I came home and was leaving to go to kids soccer I asked him how it worked if I was to go ahead and pay now. He said I could wait until they finished. I asked to go ahead and let me pay for what they did. At this point the only price idea I had was $3000.00. He came back and told me they put down 349 yards and we owed$10370 but reduced it to $1000.00. I asked him how. Glad I stopped him at this point. I told him I had $3000.00 and I would have to talk with my husband. We did the calculations width x length x thickness and got a totally different yardage. I asked him why he would not give someone an actual total being to do our whole driveway would have been over $30K. Very upsetting. They tore up my driveway and yard. I am now going to have to pay someone to fix. We paid him $7000.00 and asked him to fix the driveway and yard and we would pay the rest. He has not completed this but it threating to put a lein on my home because I have not paid him the last 3000.00. Today topped it off and really upset me. We have more than $3000.00 in damage to our drive way and replacing sod. I would not use this company at all.
