I arrived to pick up my car i purchased on line. I had very little to no communication from sales/management until I arrived. No body knew anything. The car was unable to be seen. The car i was told was getting clean and serviced. I dove almost 4 hours from ****** to ************* fl. They had me sign all state/bank papers to " lock me in" assuring me everything will be taken care of the next day and to return then. Obviously i was not going to drive back then return the next day. I had to pay $250 for a room and $40 for dinner as a result of this.I returned in the morning. Was told the car was being serviced and detailed.I walked out in 45 degree temp and pouring rain to transfer my belongings. There was absolutely no way for me to inspect the car. I jumped in the car and headed back to ******. The first thing I noticed wiper blades were bad. I literally could not see while driving in the rain. The car had a putrid oder. The console looked like it was repainted as the finish was crinkled. Interior filthy. The tires are all out of round from never being maintained. Loud. One tire is legally not passable. When i arrived home to inspect further, there is a big dent in left front fender, A large punchure/dent in rear bumper. All of which could not be detected in the rain. This never even had the oil changed. Also with over a 100k the timing belt has to be changed or the engine can be detroyed. This has never been done.I have purchased 4 cars on line with absolutely no problem. This, has been an absolute nightmare. Im so disappointed in the management of Autonation.I contacted my salesman first thing Saturday morning, to him i want to exchange it for another car. Autonation has an exchange policy. I found another Camry Autonation had for sale. Said I will pay the money difference. He told me Im ineligible because i dove more than **************************************************** the middle of my trip home? In the rain? Off of the highway?Business Response

Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention. When the customer arrived to pick up their newly purchased vehicle, the detailing was nearing the end of completion. After voicing their disappointment that it was not completed, the management team offered them a credit for the inconvenience. The customer agreed and took delivery of the vehicle.

I bought a 2015 *** X5 with ****** miles on it from *** of ****** an AutoNation dealer November 22 2024. 2 weeks after buying the vehicle I started noticing some issues. There was a burning smell and light smoke coming from the engine as well as any bump in the road the steering became really loose. Due to living in ******** I called *** of ***** to make an appt. It took a couple weeks to get the car in but I took the car to the service and they informed me a valve cover gasket was leaking as well as both front struts are leaking and all needs to be replaced. We were also told from the service department that this was not a new issue. I was not concerned at first as we purchased an extended warranty from the dealership. However the extended warranty denied the repairs and so we had to pay out of pocket. I have contacted the dealership twice via email regarding this. Was told by them they were going to take the issue to management and let us know. Still nothing has been relayed back to us. I am unsure how this place sells cars that are not in full working order. At this point all I want are the repairs paid for and the extended warranty cancelled and refunded due to it doe not cover anything.Business Response

Dear BBB,
We take customer concerns seriously and appreciate the opportunity to address Mr. ******** complaint. He purchased a 2015 *** X5 from us on November 22, 2024, and later reported issues with the valve cover gasket and front struts. While the vehicle passed inspection at the time of sale, we understand that unexpected repairs can arise.
Although his extended warranty provider denied coverage, we stepped in to assist and offer $2,125.50 toward his repair costs as a goodwill gesture. We also provided him with the warranty providers contact information for cancellation assistance.
Our priority was ensuring a fair resolution while maintaining transparency and customer satisfaction. Please let us know if further information is needed.Initial Complaint

I bought multple cars from autonation but by far the worst experince still suffering from ****** of Arapahoe Autonation. Bought an x5 4 months ago financed by a credit union (outside financing) its been 4 months they have not processed the title or even submit documents to the ***. My bank is concerned about it and asking to cancel the loan or interest will increase. I have reached out to sales, finance 31 times and finally directed me to title clerk, who has not responding at all and now even the dealership. Where is the title of the car you sold! I traded in my 2024 Silverado on November ******, and purchased a traverse. I was told shortly after trading in this vehicle that the loan at ally financial had not been paid. My husband and I told the sales person and the finance person who assisted us in our purchase of this many times. Nothing was ever done to figure out why ally had not received the check. It is now janruary 23, 2025 and I received a call from ally financial stating that we owe over $4000 and are now delinquent over 90 days. I explained to them that the check had been sent by auto nation and that I no longer owned the truck. This has significantly impacted my credit, I now apparently owe on a vehicle I no longer own.I reached out to Autonation to explain this to them and ask what has happened, only for them to tell me they knew the check had been sent back due to being short on what the payoff was and did nothing about it. Again my credit how now been impacted poorly due to this and it still has not been resolved.Business Response

Purchased a 2019 Jaguar F-type on November 2, 2024. It has tha AutoNation 4 month, ***** mile warranty. Basically the car has a software update issue that prevents me from using the Navigation system, voice control and CarPlay, the reason I purchased a 2019 for these features. The dealership assured me repairs can be done by any AutoNation dealership. I live 150 miles from this dealership. The AutoNation dealership in ****************** referred me to the Jaguar Dealer in **********. They kindly did not charge me and could not fix the problem.I have tried to contact the dealership and they have not responded after several emails and texts. I sent them a Certified Letter on January ****** in accordance with Florida Satute Section ****** As of today I have not had a response. I just want them to fix the problem which is covered under the rather vague AutoNation WarrantyBusiness Response

Complaint: 22833963Sorry for other late response. I did not receive the status of the complaint until today after requesting an update to my January 20 complaint to the bbb.
I did exactly as you suggested and the AutoNation dealership, ***** of Clearwater sent me to Jaguar of Clearwater to do a software update.this is a copy of my invoice, stating that a a Software is not going through. There is a possibility of Bricking out Vehiclewhich according to the Service Advisor would render the car useless
I am rejecting this response because of the inability of doing a software update ,all of which should have been done, or checked for before I purchased the Vehicle. Resolution is doing whatever repairs to the software system that is necessary to complete an update. All of this should be covered under the 90 day Warranty that includes all Electrical Systems.

I traded in my vehicle for another vehicle June 5, 2024. As of today 01/13/25 i still don't have my license plates. ??.. From the beginning it has been subpar. I was there for hours. told they would get My new car there by time i got back from getting my checkbook. well it wasn't there. then they promised first thing in the morning. guess what. still not there. so I told them I wanted my car by lunch. so they bring it. I get in it and it's dirty. ?? like wow. salesman said he would fill up gas tank again and get it detailed. I take it in. ****. Just washed and wiped down. it's a Benz. guess that was my mistake buying through them. was told my oil changes would be free. yeah they are not so don't believe that! went back a week in a half ago and another manager "promised " I'd get my lp by Wednesday. apparently a loan on the car hadn't been paid off and so the bank had the title and that it got paid off and they were never sent the title. like seriously.. I'm so unhappy with my purchase and the lack of service I received. I remember when the team would go above and beyond to get your car ready and have it cleaned and just make you feel good about making a purchase. not here. so no i wouldn't recommend them!!! at this point i am just going to see what I can do legally as I paid my ttl and I've gotten nothing!!!Business Response

Paperwork related issues with **************************************** location and the fact that Ive been reaching out since January 8th w/no ***ly. I cannot sign a document stating that I received the car on January 2nd as the dealership still has car & has had my money since 1-7-25 via wire transfer internally within chases intranet. I electronically signed documents initially, cash sale, 1-2-25, then a mail packet was sent with a finance agreement for $328 per month.2nd packet included a finance agreement with one payment, by signing this document I agree to if the vehicle is damaged, destroyed or missing I agree to pay for the car anyway. Section 2 letter A of form #LAW 553-CA-ARB-eps 3/23 v1. This document also states that I agree to arbitrate my disputes vs going to court. I do not agree to that. The ca DMV verifies that this form is not required. 3rd packet includes that notarized statement saying you delivered the car to me on January 2nd, and finance documents that (again) say Im going to pay even if its damaged, destroyed or missing.I called customer service at the corporate office and filed my 1st request for help on 1-9-25. While I was typing this out, I reached a *** at your corporate office. Apparently the first two attempts to reach you failed because the concierge chose the wrong dealership to assign this to??Paperwork and forms completion require accuracy and care this seems to be an issue with this organization.Paperwork Packet #2 (hard copy) was returned by next day air arriving Wednesday. Shipping was scheduled for Thursday between 12 and 2 pm. Dealer did not bother to review documents until my driver arrived to pick up the car, refused to release car & forfeiting my shipping fee of $1k. The dealer finance **** agreed that I can cross out n/a the part about paying for the car anyway on packet #2 via text message I still have.Customer Answer
Date: 01/13/2025
Finally the corporate office created acomplaint someone from tje dealership Called themselves turned the complaint to someone at the dealership who wasnt in the finance department and didnt review the details. He wanted to review the deal and call me back. Instead, the sales *** who has lied or if you prefer, mis-stated facts continually through this process and claims to NEVER have received any paperwork and had no comment of how to proceed. He refused to transfer me back to ****? And said call him yourself.
I promptly called AutoNation corporate back, several hours have passed with no additional attempt to resolve this issue. I did not sign the fraudulent documents which shouldnt be a surprise, no direction on what documents are needed that are not fraudulent or do not apply.Customer Answer
Date: 01/13/2025
**** called and offered $350 towards vehicle transport since they sent my delivery truck away. Automations cost to transport here is $2500, Ive already paid $1,000 $350 after my car is picked up seems less than generous but it is a step in the right direction.
He seemed to be set on me signing finance documents and the form that needs a notary stating I received the car on 1-2-25 that is still in ** while I am here in *******. I wont sign finance documents when I paid in full almost a week ago.
He relented on the finance doc still pushing for the delivered document which can be signed by the truck driver on my behalf no notary if he wants the document before the car is released.
Read him the form numbers that ARE applicable and what I am willing to sign and were back to waiting for the finance manager to call back. Ive been waiting on his call since last Wednesday.reviewed with Finance manager at 615 pm today, he waived the requirement for financing docs to be signed for a cash sale but still insists that I sign and notarize the statement that the car has been received on January 2nd 2025
This is fraud and I cant sign it *My signing the document at a local AutoNation dealership at the time the driver picks up the car is not acceptable to House of Imports
*suggested adding a signature line to the statement of delivery so the driver can sign that he locked it up in addition to me but that was not acceptable
both options are Legal where signing a false statement is not Finance manager says he is returning my money, I am not in agreeable to that optionI want my car without being asked to sign fraudulent documents
why is this too much to ask?
Returning the money when Ive lost $1000 in shipping fees and purchased insurance for the car is not acceptable.

I am rejecting this response because it is vague and non-committal. AutoNation customer service/resources do not seem to have a sense of urgency to resolve the problem. When calling the customer line, the guideline is that your call will be returned within 5 days. My initial calls were unanswered, I do have a *** assigned, based on the communication Ive received, the only contact with the dealership has been by email. A copy of the shipping invoice was requested and sent yesterday morning.
My follow up call from yesterday afternoon remains unanswered, the person taking the message reminded me of the 5 day time frame to expect a call.
The dealership themselves seemed to be trying to help, that is until the sales manager got involved After the others approved the paperwork as we had negotiated, she called me Tuesday night to say she was cancelling the sale.
Im especially concerned about the wildfires affecting future transportation or destroying the car while this issue continues to be unresolved
Sincerely,

Although I rejected the offer made on Thursday afternoon, House of Imports sent the following email to me at 6 pm Florida time which is after the rejection of the offer.
The email indicates a check will be sent to the property that was destroyed by the hurricane. Even of a resolution has been agreed upon, the inconvenience of mailing a paper check when 1. AutoNation has the car I bought so getting to a disaster area from the ********** where I now reside is not only problematic. This knee jerk attempt at resolution without any discussion that includes me or the corporate office with whom I lodged the complaint.Business Response
