We bought a Certified Preowned (***) car from Hodges Mazda. The *** checklist showed all 160 items were in good working order, with no mention of rust or significant rust. 3 months later the car started making noises. The Hodges Mazda mechanic inspected it and (on video) said, "the whole front end is deeply, terribly rusted." The left brake caliper was frozen and destroyed the pads, rotor, and other parts because the rust was so bad. They wanted us to pay $7,700 to fix it! The *** report looked as if someone just checked all the boxes as "okay." If they inspected the underside, as required by the *** process, they couldn't have missed the deep, pitted rust. Upon further investigation we found the car came from ** where they use salt on the roads. First, they said it was our fault. Then they said it was only surface rust. Surface rust wouldn't cause the extreme extent of damage. After a long and distressing argument (and their repeated denials) when we asked for their attorney's information, ***** Sale, the **, and ****** *********** (Fixed Operations Manager) relented and agreed to fix it at no cost to us. ***** Sale also agreed to reinspect the entire car. While doing the repairs they found the same damage to the left side and the cost increased to over $12,000. Clearly it was never inspected when it was certified. When they "reinspected" it, as they committed to do (with a handshake) they only inspected the finished repairs in the front end. That was not our "verbal" "handshake" agreement. After the meeting with the **, we confirmed with ****** *********** and ****** ********, in their lounge area, that it would be a new *** checklist. After 4 emails they haven't given us the report. Now they're ignoring my emails. We want the new *** report as promised. If not, we will continue to escalate our problems. My trust in Hodges Mazda is gone because if their uncooperativeness and continued evasion and reluctance to be accountable for their mistakes.

TLDR- this dealership will literally try to s**** you over and do whatever they can to not have to pay for their f*** *** and absolutely do not give a **** about you as a customer or your vehicle. Attached is the inspection video from the quality work done by Hodges that was discovered by the better dealership ??Took a 24 Mazda3 in for its first oil change with less than 1000 miles. This dealership mustve wanted to have to do warranty work on a blown motor, as when they did the oil change, they opted to not only forget to put the crush washer on the drain plug, but they also only hand tightened the drain plug back in the oil pan.The car had approximately 450 miles put on it post oil change, when there was a very blatant oil leak coming from under the car. Oil level was drastically low compared to what it should have been at for recently having an oil change, so it was towed to the nearest dealership, as I wasnt going to drive it with approximately a quart or two of oil in the motor. The dealership sends me the inspection video of oil just all throughout the underside of the car and all over the place and the key things that this dealership neglected to do properly, as its literally their job to do this right. The dealership told me what it needed, I contacted Hodges and they contacted the other dealer to see what they could do to fix the issue. Everything was set to have them pay for the oil change and then tow the car to be able to clean it and then deliver to my home; but instead, these incompetent people decided they were going to try to use MY service agreement oil change to pay for the oil change, and when they were told no to doing that, they were going to send someone to DRIVE the car in the state it was in 12ish miles away, with basically no oil in it. Stay clear of this disastrous business. They clearly dont give a **** about customers or their cars.

I inquired on a car on a Tuesday, upon learning that it is available, I asked about trading in two cars from out of state. The salesman told me that would be no problem, they have a team that could drive my new car up and my trade in's back down and that I should go ahead with the credit application. I submit my credit application a couple hours before close, heard I was approved and moved onto the next day, my salesman was off so no word on Wednesday. Thursday evening comes and I get a call that I may have to find other financing, not a big deal. I got an approval through my credit union and all was well. That's when the dealership went back on their word that they can no longer bring me the car, and that I would have to drive both 7+ hours to do the deal. After back and forth due to the lies stated above, we agreed that they could ship one of my cars down and I would drive the other, not ideal or what we agreed on before a credit application, but acceptable terms. That was on Saturday, come Monday I communicated with my salesman that I am signing loan documents and the check is in the mail to them to pay for the car. No response for a few hours, then I received a text that stated "I just got word that a friend of the owners came in about an hour ago and bought the vehicle. Since they were a friend we ended up selling them the vehicle." I made sure to ask if the rest of the dealership knew that car was SOLD with the loan funded and money actively on the way to the dealer, and the salesman responded "It was yes. The customer came this morning and is local." All in all, I was coerced into applying for financing on a car under a lie that they could bring me the car, and then after I secured my own financing and send them the money they sell the car out from under me because a friend of the owner walked in to look at a SOLD car. This was an all around terrible experience. Never deal with them.

I bought a Mazda CX-9 in 2013 from Hodges Mazda and I've been very pleased with the vehicle. I've been using the dealer primarily for oil changes, as I've had a regular mechanic who has served me well for 25 yrs. My passenger door would not open after a friend changed out window motor. I took it to the dealer for an oil change & have them fix the door after a quote. I was quoted $831.33 to repair a bent cable which could be done with replacing the actuator. If they did the work the $159.98 labor to diagnosis the problem would be applied. They couldn't do it that day as they had to order the parts. I said it seemed high, so I needed to think about it. I got a 2nd quote, and they fixed it in 45 minutes and charged me $126. They said when the new window motor was installed the cables were reversed. They corrected the cable placements and said no other parts were needed, and the parts they ordered would return. I was planning on possibly buying another CX-9 after this one, but I will not step foot in this dealer again. In my opinion it's a repeat of the 15K checkup. If memory is right, they wanted about $275 to make sure everything was okay after purchase. I said its a new car under warranty, so I expect it is fine. When I took it to my regular mechanic for an oil change, he said when he changes the oil, he performs the same bumper to bumper checks and doesn't charge for them. I'm very loyal to those I purchase from but not in this case. I find Hodges Mazda unethical and dishonest. I drive 50 minutes to get my vehicle serviced. I would have had to wait for them to order parts and make a return trip. They would have not only taken my money, but my time which I resent, when they could have made the repair at the time of the oil change. Total cost of my visit for an oil change and quote to repair the door was $313.64 which is the most expensive oil change I've ever received.

Unfortunately, I have to put service on the same level with sales- very bad!!!!. And its horrible practice lately .Not just the fact that the people in service are changing all the time , but the prices are changing and are higher then mostly anywhere else. Not counting that such a big organization Is ACCEPTING CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS but CHARGING YOU 3.5% on the top of the bill. ( This is a new practice) YOU HAVE TO PAY CASH , if you dont want to (basically)! be overcharged ,.Its unbelievable.Soon they will introduce a mandatory tip- this is the direction this dealership is going.I am sure I will find a better Mazda service , with better practices.Anywhere else will be faster and better. They are opening a store in ************.STAY AWAY!!!!!I cancelled my appointment with them , now and forever.Dont go there if you want good and customer oriented service.

I appologize you feel that way ********************, however, we research weekly the market on servicing vehicles to make sure we are right in line with what the industry charges for services, as for the charge for using the credit card, you do not have to pay cash, you can use a debit card or write a check. I talked to the service writer that helped you and they assured me they told you this. Merchant fees on credit cards are increasing all the time and we made a decision to incourage customers not to use a credit card but to use any other means to pay for their service.

They sold me a lemon and refuse to make it right. I have had to replace the water pump, MAF sensor, Camshaft sensor and it still doesn't run correctly. This has all been in a matter of months. It has spent more time sitting than running. ***************************** does not return my calls or emails. They are a shyster outfit. If I were you I would avoid doing business with them.

I purchased a car from ********************* they are partnership with Hodges Mazda in ************ off ********. I had a warranty and took my car for ** repairs three times. The last time they kept my car a week and now the ** is not working properly when it's on my car overheats. I took pictures of my car which returned with a replaced part that apparently was broken. I was told to take the car to Hodges because that is the place *********** takes their cars. I had to follow up with the manager and the customer service is awful and my car is still not fixed and my warranty has expired. This would be my fourth time returning my car and I have tried to contact other leaders for help and failed return, therefore I am stuck with a lemon that I purchased with ** problems and promised it was fixed and now a complete run around.
