DO NOT purchase windows from EcoView. their "warrantee" or whatever they are trying to sell you is not worth wasting the amount of time and effort you waste. I ordered and signed an agreement late 2022 timeframe. I was informed that it took about 6 months to receive the windows (no big deal). When the windows came and installed the windows. In the process of removing an old one, they damaged a sill (marble of some kind) but took the "picture of proof" of original damage after part of the window was removed. Which is when I believe it happened. I know the window wasn't damaged because we recently purchased the house and had an inspector as well as us inspect the house. I purchased the windows because of the foaming process they did in-between the windows. While they were installing I found out that some windows did not get the insulation foam because the windows were a "tight fit" into the spaces. Some of the caulking was poorly done where there was a large gap between the window and brick around the house that they thought putting large abouts of caulk would be ok. The caulk simply sagged in the gap and created large holes for rain water to enter my home. I was told they were going to put trim all the way around the bottom portion of the brick to correct that issue, however they only did it under the windows and it looks like horrible. I still have damaged screens that haven't been replaced and one casement window has a damaged locking mechanism, some of the window trim has not been properly caulked while other trim is falling off. I am so frustrated going back and forth that I simply gave up on trying to hold them accountable because every time I get someone to the house it is someone different that "doesn't have the right materials to do the work" and will be back with the correct materials and never comes back. We are still waiting work to be completed I am begging you PLEASE DO NOT WORK WITH THESE PEOPLE AND PUT THEM OUT OF BUSINESS. Don't be taken advantage of!

EcoView Windows installed 2 windows in my upstairs bonus room in March 2022. A faulty exterior caulking job by the installer was not discovered till Sept. 2022 when cracking in my exterior stucco beneath the windows was noticed. As the crack was excavated, significant water accumulated was found below the windows behind my stucco, where a structural beam for the bonus room was contained. Once exposed, water damage and mold on the beam was evident. A water leak detection company confirmed the problem area to be the exterior base of the installed windows where caulking was visibly deficient. I immediately called EcoView for assistance and followed up several times thereafter with no return communications for over a month. In the meantime, I had the windows resealed at my expense and the area further excavated to determine the extent of damage. In Nov. a representative of EcoView came out to view my concerns and afterwards fully agreed that it was a workmanship issue. I was told that EcoView would take care of the costs. I was asked to submit copies of all of my expenses. Upon doing so, I tried to follow up with the representative but never received a return communication despite multiple efforts. In mid-Dec. I emailed *** ******** detailing my saga. *** ******** return emailed me an offer to reimburse me $1,874 dollars, the cost of the windows with a stipulation that EcoView would no longer be responsible. I emailed back asking to reconsider covering at least covering the cost of the repairs caused by the faulty caulking job. Since then, I have heard nothing. To date I have spent $1,075.00 dollars to determine the cause of the stucco cracking below the windows, $375.00 for the water leak detection company to pinpoint the source and now I’m faced with a minimum of $4,425.00 and possibly more to repair/replace the beam because of the water damage. I feel at the very least, the repairs to the water damaged area should be covered by EcoView.

As explained to the customer, after having two different certified contractors, one of which is a water intrusion expert, the degree of damage being shown and claimed is simply way beyond what could have been caused by the areas of faulty caulking in the amount of time the windows have been installed.  They are in full agreement that there has been some other form of water intrusion prior to the window installation that was ongoing for quite some time.  Additionally, the fact that the windows were installed recessed approximately 3/8" inch is the correct way to do that type installation, where it provides a surface to adhere caulk to.  He seemed to think we were supposed to install them flush to the wall, but that would not give the installer anywhere to caulk.  Even though I have full confidence the extent of his damages are not 100% the fault of our installation, I was still willing to refund 100% of what he paid us as compensation for what relatively small amount we did contribute to them.

I am rejecting this response because:

      To whom it may concern.

Regarding my complaint #  ******** concerning EcoView Windows of North Florida I had indicated in my most recent communication that I would consider the matter closed should EcoView reimburse me for the cost of the windows as they indicated they offered.
I’m not certain I would consider the complaint closed as I have not heard from EcoView concerning the reimbursement matter. If at all possible I would like the complaint to remain open until they confirm the reimbursement. Thank you in advance

I hired EcoView Windows and door to install new windows in my house. The company came and measured and made the windows to fit the openings. They then came out with a crew to install the windows. Ecoview then removed and installed my new windows. I was noticing that some of the windows had really big gaps around the windows and opening. I asked for all window requirements and spec sheets to be left at the job so i could confirm that the windows were installed correctly. The window specs were only given to me via email long after i asked for them. I was under the impression that Ecoview would be pulling a permit and having my windows inspected by the city. I was then told that the city would not be coming to inspect the windows because the job was under the required amount for an inspection. This sounded strange to me so I looked into it finding that this was correct but then I was concerned why it took Ecoview so long to get me the code requirements and specs for the windows. I did finally get spec sheets from two different individuals from Ecoview (*****) who works in the office and (***) the install manager. I checked the windows to make sure they were done correctly and they are not close to done per the code. The house is a block house therefor the windows need to be installed with a tapcon screw which would be embedded into the blocked of the house. Ecoview used wood cabinet screws instead of the concrete tapcons. I contacted *** and he assured me that they were done correctly but would come take a look and fix the issues if needed. *** Agreed that when he came and took a look the windows were not done properly and he would have him and the crew back out to fix it. They came and did one window leveling it out and putting a 2by4 under it to close the massive gap in the window. They added some tapcons to a few windows but all the screws are spinning loose in the holes so they aren't properly done. If needed I will hire an inspector to check the job.

      To whom it may concern:

There are two reasons for the customer to see gaps around his windows.  First, it is completely normal for a certain amount of gap due to window openings are never perfectly square like the window being installed, so we have to allow room for adjustment and shimming so the window will operate correctly.  In this case, not only was that amount of gap there, but the customer despite our instruction not to, removed all of his tile sills, which created a distinctly larger opening than what we measured his custom made windows to fit into. When the customer initially asked for "specs" for the windows, it was not abundantly clear what he was looking, but he was told all information was available on the manufacturer's website so he could pick and choose what information he felt he needed or wanted.  As verified by the customer, we DID and always DO pull all required permits and we will coordinate all required inspections when needed.  Once he was clear in what specs he was looking for, we ensured he received them, apparently twice.

The customer did in fact express his concern as to whether the windows were installed correctly, which led to our Install Manager going to the home to verify.  While there, he did identify one window missing one tapcon (which he installed) and one window that was not properly positioned due to the customer's removal of the tile sill (which required us returning to add wood to fill the gap he created) and set the window in the correct position.  Not every opening required tapcons because part of the house is an addition that is made of wood framing, not block.  We used the appropriate screws in every opening.  When we finished making all adjustments and checking all screws, everything was perfect.  If the screws are now spinning, apparently the customer should not have been torqueing on them while "checking", which is what would cause this.  Apparently he has stripped the screw hole.

If he hires an inspector, it will be at his own expense, and he will be responsible for making any corrections, since he has apparently altered our work causing the screws to spin freely and voiding our workmanship warranty.

EcoView Windows left this job in perfect condition and are now due their balance.  The customer was warned multiple times that if he did not pay he would be turned over to collections and that time came.  There is no reversing this or the assessed fees.
