My ex opened an account using my information and they did nothing to prevent this and now I am stuck having to get a police report. Have paperwork notarized and having to do this within a 2 days or they will penalize us. We have never heard of this bank but apparently you can open an account with someone else's information because they don't have security measures in place to ensure your protection. This is wrong and they should be held accountable because they are putting us through the roof. Don't do business with this bank because they will not protect you and will charge YOU for their lack of oversight or vetting.Space Coast Credit Union

This is the worst credit union I have ever dealt with. I was forced to use them thru my dealership for my car loan.They automatically open a savings account for you with $5. After a few months, I decided to put money into my savings and asked for a debit card. Don't ask what I went thru to finally get one. I tried using it and it was not valid. Don't try calling them - it will take-up moat of your day. Finally get thru to a live person and they tell me I can't use it like a traditional debit card! Excuse me? In order to access my money in my savings account, I have to go into one of their branches (closest one to me is 20 minutes by car) OR, I can open a checking account and then I can use my debit card wherever I want. There aren't enough characters left in my review. I could go on!! Find a different place than SCCU!Space Coast Credit Union

Our system requires debit cards to be linked to a checking account for in-store purchases, as they do not support purchases from a savings account alone. 12/26/2023 11:00AM EST I bought a money order (marked moneygram) at my local Space Coast Credit Union branch in Orange City FL about 6 years ago and was told at that time the money orders do not expire. I had forgotten about it until last week and went into the same branch to cash it, which they did. 3 days later I received a letter from Space Coast stating the money order bounced and they debited my savings account and overdrew it although my checking had more than enough to cover it. The letter receive has a substitute check on it and the letter states it can be used like a regular check. I went into my local branch in Orange City Fl (the stand alone location) and was unable to cash the check. The person at the counter was not helpful to say the least and became disrespectful AND would not cash the check. I have been the phone for over 2 hours looking for a resolve. I have been a customer for over 21 years but apparently in this day and age that means very little.Space Coast Credit Union

SCCU is the worst financial institution i have EVER dealt with in my life! AVOID THIS SCAM CREDIT UNION!!! ALL OF THESE ONE STAR REVIEWS ARE 100% ACCURATE! I joined SCCU hoping for more personalized attention. My husband and I applied for a tiny loan for a used RV, $25k to be exact. We have deposits near twice that amount They denied us stating we "were planning to live in the RV". This was incorrect and was info from my adult son who applied months before. Spent an hour on the phone Saturday explaining to a CSR. They stated they added that info to the application. Got another denied email. Called back..disconnected 2x finally reached a human who said the SAME EXACT THING! When we AGAIN said NO and told her our conversation on Saturday she said yes that info added yet the INCORRECT INFO was STILL THE ONLY REASON FOR DENIAL. Went and closed my account. Settling on a property we sold with 6 figures in equity which we were going to deposit. They can't tell my account from my adult son I'm not trusting them with ANY OF MY MONEY.Space Coast Credit Union

Completed an application twice for a credit card with the credit union, after being a member for over 10 years.. I was turned down for too many debts. Excuse me didn't know car and house payments and 1 credit card are too many debts, and by the way are good debts. I recently purchased a home at a credit score well over 700. You must have zero debts with 800+score to get anything with this cu.. very disappointed would like to do business where I bank. I just applied elsewhere and got a 15k!!! Your lending guidelines don't meet the needs of the pple, as you just lost a good member! Will never recommend or bank here again!Space Coast Credit Union

I talked and explained why I am applying for loan to Tommy ****** yesterday. He did not understand that I have more investment and no debt. He rejected my application. He was upset why and how accumulated more savings. Please put people in loan dep that are educated and have more understanding of borrowing and being polite to people.Space Coast Credit Union

1 starI don't know how to explain how horrible this Credit Union has been. I set up a new account giving them ALL of their required documentation for verification. Everytime I attempt to make an external transfer, I'm locked out without any notification. They required additional documentation as proof of who I am from my current bank. After my current bank provides that, they ask for additional info from my current bank which they provided. I'm locked out again two days later. They said it was an error in their system and it wouldn't happen again. Two days later, locked out for the third time in a week. Now they can't FIND my documentation. They have a data base that they are not competent to execute. They will not give out phone # or names of management but offered to have someone call me. They said when the account is locked, I can't receive any of my direct deposits nor can my auto bill pay work. I said I'd remove my money from their bank and open an account elsewhere. They said I could not withdraw my money either. Bottom Line: They hold your money hostage while your bills can potentially go unpaid and cause all the associated nightmares of not having access to your own money. 1 starCompletely wasted my time and lied to me tell me that I was approved when I was not. If you do not make 10 times more money then you need they lie and say you got the loan when you did not get anything. Was doing a virtual closing. But they did not tell me that we could not use a cell phone. This was late Friday. Come Monday all of a sudden I do not make any money and will not give me the loan. 1 starJust left the branch been a member since 1987 home loans, car loans, savings checking acts. They would only loan me half of what I needed for a rv loan. I have 1/2 of that rv loan in checking and savings. I have an equity line with a balance of 15,000 on a 400,000 dollar home. That 15,000 is all I own on my home. I left there bewildered I just can’t believe that happened to me. I payed off a 6 yr 50,000 truck loan in January. Never a late payment. They have lost their minds and banking sense. They have lost me after 36 years. Sad day hope someone running the Circus reads these. Ps I didn’t want to leave a star they made me.
