Gift card was purchased on Golf Now for $100. There is no small print or footnotes that states gift cards can only be used for certain purchases. Currently gift cards can only be used for hot deals instead of booking any tee time. For any business, gift cards have a 1:1 to cash, so gift cards should be used to purchase any service. I would not have purchased $100 in gift cards had this been made aware to me during the transaction. Golf now should be required to state the limitations of gift cards, it is an unfair business practice.Business response

I am rejecting this response because prepaid tee times listed in the terms and conditions makes it appear that you can book any tee time with the gift card. It does not and now the gift card is useless for the person who purchased it. I want a refund and the gift card invalidated.
Sincerely,
*******************Business response

Prepaid teetimes are as they sound; they are bookings on GolfNow that require a prepayment. Prepayments may be just the convenience fees, a deposit, or the full greens fees. This varies course by course on our website. If a value is due upon arrivig at the golf course, or any purchases made while at the golf course, are not covered by GolfNow Gift Cards. Additionally, as stated in our Gift Card terms, Gift Cards are not debit or credit cards. Gift Cards have no cash value, there are no credits, refunds or exchanges, and they may not be redeemed for cash (except as required by law).
The consumer has agreed to these terms when they purchased their gift card. On our site, a checkbox that again links our terms and policies is provided and is mandatory to complete the transaction. If our terms are not agreed to, the purchase of a gift card can not be processed.

I have an **************** card that I use once in awhile I noticed there was a charge to golf now.com and I didn't even know what this website was so I went on and I found out it's a golf reservation website. Well, I have never even gone on the site and there was a charge to my card so it seems to me something is going fishy on with this website. I immediately called **************** and they are taking off the charge and sending me a brand new card because someone clearly got my information. I called golfnow.com and ask them about the charge and they said I had to open an account with golfnow.com in order to find out what a joke!Business response

Thank you for bringing case #******** to our attention.
From the email address provided by the consumer, we have located one recent booking for ********************** booked on 6/11/2024 for 6/12/2024. While the consumer did not use GolfNow directly, the course uses our software to power their teesheets, run their websites, and/or utilizes our point of sales system for purchases made in the club. As a result, bookings for this or numerous other courses may result in a charge reading GolfNow. However, if the consumer is not the one who made this purchase, normally we would recommend following up with their financial institution. However, the consumer has stated that they have already disputed this charge, so there is no further action to take.

I am rejecting this response because: I was never told there would be a reservation fee for this golf course. The real inconvenience for me is that I thought someone stole my **************** credit card information and was starting to charge on it so naturally I canceled my card and I have a new card coming with a new number which is a serious inconvenience for me for that reason I do not accept your response

golf now is a tee time finder for golfers they charge you a fee for setting up tee times for you .In april of this year i made a tee time at a golf course on a saturday afternoon for the following morning . the i watched the news and they said it was going to frost so i cancellwd the tee time and made another later that day ( if it frost on the course you cannot play until melted) well golf now charged me for the earlier tee time because i did not cancel within in time limit wich is you must cancell 24 hours before tee time to get refund my problem is that when i made the tee ***** on saturday afternoon there was no way i could cancel 24 hours before because there was not 24 hours between whe i made the tee time 4:30 saturday and the actual tee time was at 9:00 am sunday so i did not have even 24 hours to cancel any way but i cancelled and made a new tee time so i paid double to play the course because they would not except my earlier cancellation even though i showed up an paid for my golf later that day after frost melted once again i could not give 24 hours notice when there was not 24 hours in between when i made the tee time and the actual tee time so golf now charged for the cancelled tee time even though i showed up and payed later 0Business response

Booked a tee time on apr 9th by accident (meant to book a different course) and cancelled immediately afterward. Saw something that said it was refundable as long as it was more than 24 hrs before the tee time. However, I later saw that I got a credit not a refund. I contacted support about the issue and was told by a ******************* that the mention of a refund is mentioned in "The confirmation of the tee time after booking you get all the details." admitting that this "refund" policy is hidden away and not prominently displayed. I explained that a refund and credit are two different things and that I had no use for a credit as I'm soon moving overseas. He continued to be rude and unhelpful, saying that I had to "give yourself time and read everything when booking tee time." *********** that is hiding behind fine print when conducting business is acting dishonestly.Business response

Thank you for bringing case #******** to our attention.
The consumer used GolfNow to book a Hot Deal reservation. Hot Deals are owned by GolfNow, are 100% prepaid online at the time of booking, and are nonrefundable unless the course is closed. The trade-off is Hot Deals are discounted from what the rack rate would be and qualifies for promotional codes, account credits, and ******************** gift cards.
While the Hot Deal policy may not be posted plainly across the site, it is still available to be reviewed prior to purchasing the round. It can even be viewed before confirming the player count and again on the checkout screen before any purchase is made. Additionally, these policies must be agreed to before a round can be purchased. On the checkout screen, a checkbox must be selected. The checkbox also links our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and Tee Time Policy. If this box is not selected, a booking can not be completed on GolfNow. The consumer has agreed to our policy and their reservation does not qualify for a cash refund.

Capitol One case *************** Hello, my name is ************************* I was told to use the golf now app to better schudule tee times to golf. Upon doing so I went to the turkey creek golf course to play and realized that something in the app defaulted to the wrong date, so I paid at ************ for the golf date of March 28th (photo of payment attached) upon figuring out the mistake I call the 3rd party booking (GolfNow) upon calling I was told the only way to refund is to get the money back as a credit onto the app. I told the representative that I was no longer going to use the app because I was in happy with it and that I would like the money returned to my card, they stated that it was not possible for them to do so, and I told them I was going to dispute the chargers with my credit card company and here we are. Addition information , called and got the refund finally started after a month of waiting and waited the 2-5 business days and still havent received anything. Called back and stated that they needed proof again due it saying that it was sent on there end. Thank you *************************Business response

Thank you for bringing case #******** to our attention.
We would like to start by stating we are unable to view an f the files the consumer has attached in regards to this case.
Their reservation was refunded in full by our team on May 1st, 2024. Refunds do generally take 2-5 business days. As this period has elapsed, we recommend the consumer follow up with their financial institution. The consumer stated they would dispute the charge and if this process has already begun, it may be interfering with the refund we have processed. Or if the consumer has changed their credit card, this would always inhibit it as we can ONLY refund to the original payment source.
Thank you.

I called to cancel and the representative told me I had accumulated enough points to pay for the next years membership so I accepted. Then they billed my Paypal account for the membership two weeks ago which I just noticed today. This was a totally deceitful deal.I tried to contact them and can only get a computer that can only book or cancel a tee time. When I say representative, it hangs up on me.Business response

We ask if the consumer has a second GolfNow account. The one under their provided email does show a membership. However this membership was purchased on 3/16 via autorenewal, not a couple of weeks ago. Additionally, the consumer was a GolfPass member before. Our loyalty rewards points can only go towards the purchase of the GolfPass if you are new to GolfPass+. Since the consumer is not new to the program, their points are exclusively redeemable on discounting teetimes. Lastly we do not refund memberships purcahsed beyond 30 days and when the benfits have been used.

This company is STEALING money!!!!!!! Do not do business with them.We made an online reservation to play LPGA International on March 21, 2024. There were 6 of us. We arrived at the golf course, and each paid the course fee separately. On April 2, 2024, Golf now charged my credit card $252.40 for a no show. I have called to get my refund but was told they have no way to refund money with their system. I have never dealt with a more dishonest and unethical company in my life.Business response

No show charges are processed and decided by the golf course. The charge on a sttatement may read GolfNow due to courses utilizing our point of sales system. We do not hold influence over who is charged or refunded for no shows. We recommend the consumer speak with the course directly as only they make these decisions.

I am rejecting this response because: I have spoken to the golf course. They checked the tee sheet for that day. They said we all showed up at the correct time. GolfNow currently does not possess the ability to charge a no-show fee. We are not present at the golf course locations to attest if a golfer has or has not played, nor do we hold any sway in the decision making for reversing or charging no-shows. Only our point of sales system is used in this, which is why a consumer may have GolfNow appear on their statement. Again, GolfNow is not capable of charging or reversing a no-show and this is wholely up to the course.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: I understand what you are saying. But telling me there is nothing you can do is a poor excuse on your part. By your own admission, the point-of-sale software is yours. Even if you cannot give me a credit, I payed you money for your services. Could you at least call LPGA to intervene on my behalf?I have called them, and they point the finger at you. When I talk to you, you point the finger at them.

After speaking with the golf course, we believe this is what casued the issue:
The consumer booked a 3some via the mobile app. It is all that is showing on our system. It was for 1:52pm on 3/21. The course informed us they see a 1:30 3some also under the same last name as the consumer. As this reservation does not show in our system, we believe the consumer booked 3, borugh 6, and informed the course they will pay for the 3 indiviaully there. The consumers paid and played. Later it was probably seen as odd to see the consumer name for both teetimes. The course potentially lost record of the payment, so the consumer was charged a no-show to make up for the 1:30, in spite of all those players paying individually.
We have sent the consumer an email for the Director of Golf for LPGA ************************ Our best recommendation currently would be to have the members of the 1:30 3some provide screenshots of their billing/charge for the reservation, as well as showing they paid for the 1:52 as we can see. When the consumer shows that all the players have paid, the director of golf may be able to provide more assistance. If this route is not fruitful, our next recommendation would be to dispute the charge with their financial instution.

I entered into an agreement with Golf Now for a yearly subscription that is valid until February 2025. I used the service to purchase a tee time using the policies and procedures stated on the Golf Now website. I purchased the tee time based on recommendations made on the Golf Now website. This tee time was for two players, for 18 holes played and completed on: 04-24-2024 at *********************** in *********, *******. These reviews and recommendations were totally false. It definitely appears that Golf Now is using false reviews on golf courses in order to make profits. Also, Third party users are posting reviews under alias user names to improve the ratings on their golf courses. This should be stopped immediately! Good customers, including myself, are being duped into thinking they are purchasing tee times for quality golf and are being ripped off! No more anonymous reviews!!Business response

Thank you for bringing case #******** to our attention.
The consumer states we are utilizing fake reviews in order to make profits. The consumer also listed billing adjustment as their resolution. This reservation was not prepaid. All the proceeds were due at the course and went to the course.Consumers of GolfNow are free to sign in and leave reviews for golf courses and GolfNow is not the only website to permit anonymity in their reviews. Our privacy policy recommends that consumers do not include any full names, email addresses, phone numbers, physical addresses, or other personally identifiable or private information in their reviews.
On GolfNow, the consumer is able to filter reviews. There are numerous settings, including filtering by handicap, age bracket, or even if they recommend the course or not. We do recommend the consumer utilize the filter to better personalize reviews. This will allow the consumer to find information about courses they may consider more relevant to their booking decision.

I am rejecting this response because:
Im referring specifically to the course description that you provided prior to me booking this round on your website. The description does not apply to the course that I purchased on your website and the fees I paid to utilize this service.
after reviewing other course descriptions I see that this is a pattern and that you are duping customers into paying for an experience that they are not receiving.
If the description would have been truthful I would have never booked a round there and there wouldnt be any issues.

Reviews on GolfNow are written by consumers. Descriptions such as policy, yardage, or other general course info is added by a Market Sales Manager. These individuals are similarto a Regional Manager as they oversee several courses. The *** is in communcation with the course and information is added to our website as the course sees fit after discussing with their respective ***. Information for a course on GolfNow is listed because a course asked for certain information to be listed. GolfNow does not add information with the intent to decieve our consumers.
