Horrible billing and Medical Records experience in my life, I went through hoops to see if they received the request from my insurance ********** PPO and they said no, after countless calls back and forth weeks later in the end Advent Health had made a mistake on my insurance information. On 3/1/2024 I was literally in ER gave them my ID and even reviewed it with ID on hand so somewhere between there departments processing my information they had made a mistake that can cost me thousands. They dont care because its not happening to them, so much for compassion. Advent Health has put me under so much stress that its effecting my health!! It so basic my insurance is requesting additional information from Advent Health for them to send my Medical Records. such a simple task so they can get paid and it hasnt been sent to my insurance company. Till this day ** still waiting for my responsibility amount I have to pay. I will never step foot in Advent Health again. They are a predatory hospital that can potentially put you in collections and ruin you financially!AdventHealth Response

they sent me a bill of ****** on routine check up. I called my insurance, my insurance said AH was coding wrong so they wont pay for the service. Why I pay for whatever AH's mistake. I called advent health to review my case. After 2 months, the billing department called me and told me my bill was 382 dollars. Why it goes up after the review. ** refused to help me. They put my case in the review again. Let see what my bill will come out this time. I am leaving AH altamont springs, Florida for good.AdventHealth Response

Nonprofit means they don't pay taxes,but they are allowed to make billions of dollars and re-invest the money.I wonder how much tax the *** PAYS? HE'S MAKING A MASSIVE PROFIT @ $4 MILLION PER YEAR.This place is a rip-off! They charged me $1928.50 for Neomycin polymyxin B Dexamethasone3.5 ointment----- online price $12.95 ...... ********* $26.99.I can prove other rip-offs but they truly don't care about caring for people,they only care about $$$$$$$$$$AdventHealth Response

March 16/22 I had a pacemaker implanted at Advent ******** Hospital by ******************. After discharge 03/18 I had sudden stabbing burning pain on movement. Readmitted via ambulance to ER then cardiac observation ****. Episodes of pain persisted on movement and daily lab work indicated persistent bleeding. ************** who placed the pacemaker saw me once. He said the pain and bleeding were nothing to do with his work, the cardiologists would figure it out. After dinner on the 03/22 was feeling horrible, asked the nurse to call the cariologist NOW. Had a stat CAT scan. Both leads from the pacemaker had gone though my heart and were in my left ***** There was 1000+ml of blood pooled Lt. ***** Went via ambulance to Celebration ********. There I had open-heart surgery 03/23. Hbg/Hct on 03/16 - 14.5/43.8 fell to 8.1/23.8, 03/22 at Celebration!Pacemaker leads going through heart is a known risk, that along with the severe hot stabbing pain and persistent bleeding should have been an easy diagnosis. The delay in diagnosis made for a longer recovery period and post-op complications. I know anyone can make a mistake, but to fail to recognize was should have been an easy diagnosis, including the Advent Drs., thereby delaying treatment is frightening. I have all my medical records. If you need a pacemaker, my advice is avoid Advent ********.I know I have delayed writing this review, just needed time, it was all a rather frightening time for me and my family.**************AdventHealth Response

After a Dr at one of their clinics was late by an hour and fifteen minutes and confronted about it. They canceled all further appointments and discharged me from all of their practices. I originally thought they would provide decent care, I was wrong. Contacted their risk assessment team to try and get a resolution to the matter, I was told that their management would contact me, instead I got a call that they had sided with the Dr. and that they would take no action. No one there wanted to hear any additional information from my side.AdventHealth Response

I hate this Business this hospital I have set an appointment several times and I may have breast cancer and I have asked them several times to make a payment arrangement . I hate this hospital I could have breast cancer. i have spoken to April and she is just the worst that there is no empathy whatsoever. They wanted me to pay $156 up front and I don't have the money. I asked to make payments because I am still waiting for my decision from disability which ****** and ****** is supposed to working on and its getting no where.. Because the charge is less than $250 they said that I have to pay the entire amount upfront. When i can barely pay my monthly bills and purchase groceries. After speaking to April several times i became upset and she hung up the phone on me. To have to call back to demand to speak with a supervisor who is *****. Why is this is this state so backwards. I am literally tired of this Hospital and the backwards ways that they treat patients. After not one but 3 strokes I am fed with how Florida treats people here and they treat immigrants better than people that were born in *** . Why can't they help assist I people that are going through Financial crisis When a person wants to make payments arrangements and don't have that amount of money upfront on them. It is a shame that they treat us like this in Florida. Now in order for them to help my out i have to schedule another appointment and then call them back for the 50th time to see if ANYONE would be willing to assist with a down payment plan. This company scammed me and threatened me to sign up for their services. While traveling to ******, I experienced mountain sickness that persisted even after a week in the city, so I decided to visit AdventHealth **************** Meridian on February 8 to have my blood pressure checked. Upon arrival, I was informed that *********** was closing soon and they would take me to the ** instead. When I inquired about the cost, they assured me it would be a maximum of $500. All they did was check my vitals and administer IV medication to alleviate my headache and nausea. During this time, they asked if I had recently felt depressed or had negative thoughts. I said yes, because I had recently lost my job and had been feeling quite depressed for the last few months. They then insisted on transferring me to another mental **, suspecting that I might harm myself due to depression. I clarified that I had never harbored such thoughts and was merely feeling sad. However, they threatened that if I refused to go with them, they would call the police and have me arrested, which I later discovered was untrue. They exploited my anxious and scared state to coerce me into signing up for another treatment. They forcibly placed me in an ambulance and transported me to the mental facility. There, they confiscated my clothes and belongings, including my cell phone, preventing any contact with the outside world, and locked me in a cell. I was later informed that I would have to spend the night. When a doctor finally arrived in the morning, they conducted an evaluation and confirmed I was fine to go home. Later, they sent me a bill for $20,681.90 for the first ** visit and $19,691.41 for the night in the mental facility. After insurance, I was still expected to pay $4,876.58, plus more than a thousand for the ambulance, and additional bills for ** physicians. Never trust these people with your health; they will only attempt to scam you into unnecessary services to extract more money from you.AdventHealth Response

I have never encounter a mental health facility that cares more about an apology than the health of the patient. My daughter is 21 and is going through a lot in her life. She saw a doctor here and then discharged herself from services. Humm...you know that mental health patients don't always make rational decisions and yes she was rude. She was hurting and couldn't see straight. Well, fast forward 2 months. She is ready to begin treatment again, and the office refuses to see her because she discharged herself and was rude. So, you are going to take a patient that has mental issues, trust issues, and more and make them apology before you will consider to see them again. Compound her feeling of lack of trust and worthlessness by someone who is suppose to help. When the patient is crying, feels worthless, and is begging for help, you want an apology?!?!?!?! To make matters worse, the office/same doctor sees her sister. They know us, their lives! How in the h*** to take someone who is at their worst asking for help and turn your back on them. If you are wondering why people commit suicide, this is one example of why right here! Thank God my daughter has a family that loves her and will go to the ends of the find and get the help she needs.AdventHealth Response

I've had more positive than negative from advent health as a whole. ************* care I received during my doctor ************* tests, and procedures have been very good. Those include ******* Stress Test *********** ******* Catheterization 2 times, Heart Ultrasound, and routine check up/follow **** Appointment availlability. Negatives:Lack of information sent in to insurance for procedure/test authorizations. That created delays in approval and sometimes arriving to an appointment requiring special circumstances prior to procedure such as fasting or no caffeine for 24 hours and finding out during check in that insurance had not approved yet. Turnover rate. Just over 4 years with a primary care provider and cardiologist, 2 procedures with a cardiac catheterization specialist and all 3 of them are longer with the facility so I now have to start a history with someone new once again.And lastly, they are a nuisance with all the phone calls, ************** messages as many as 2 weeks prior to an appointment with reminders and requesting pre checkin procedures. Those continue all the way up to the day of the procedure or appointment. I have scheduled an appointment over the phone in the morning and they contact me not even 4 hours later to confirm the appointment I just made that could be a week or more in the future. Overall, I would like to test the waters and see what other affiliations are like to see if the grass is actually greener. Care for patients is good but too many other factors are a deterrent from recommending their business.AdventHealth Response
