What can I add to all these terrible reviews? Thought I was booking online to the motel I wanted and found out it wasn't when it came back they were charging me almost double. Called immediately to be told it was too late to cancel the reservation. Crooks. These people need to be shut down and not get first billing on a ****** search.

Reservations.com switched our hotel choice from a Marriott in Gettysburg Pa to a Best Western OK without informing us. We called immediately to inform them of their error in booking the wrong hotel and was told that they cannot refund our money. All we asked was to have the $435.33 refunded on our credit card.

Thinking that I had contacted my desired hotel directly, I booked and paid for a room for two nights. I was told by the booking agent that all discounts (special funeral rate provided in this small town, AAA, senior, lifelong educator) had been applied and that the quoted rate was in fact the discounted price for this room. Upon arriving at the hotel and eventually checking out, I discovered that no discounts had been applied, that the quoted price was a lie, and that I had overpaid $89.81. When I called the customer service number at Reservations.com for clarification, asking how they account for the discrepancy between what I paid and the printed hotel statement and where the excess funds went, I was simply lectured on my having agreed to pay the quoted rate. "True," I responded, "but I did so on good faith that you had quoted me the actual room rate, which obviously you fabricated." All to no avail. "Is there anything else I can help you with?" was the repeated reply. When I tried to call a second time a few minutes later, hoping to get a more cooperative agent, she promptly hung up even before I could ask my question. Apparently my name and complaint had already made it through their communication network. This is a thoroughly corrupt and fraudulent company, whose business practices should not be tolerated in any state.

I ended up being double booked into the Red Lion when the Reservations.com web platform failed and gave me an "Error" message that the transaction could not be completed. I then called Reservations.com on their phone line to reserve a room successfully. When I arrived at the hotel, they said I had two reservations and had already been charged. I only needed one room, so I immediately tried to cancel with reservations.com but they refused to cancel the double booking in error. I have contacted Resrveations.com customer service on five separate occasions including just after my arrival at the Hotel when the error was discovered and all I get is a run around about how they can't cancel the reservation. This company provides terrible service and is impossible to work with. Their website looks like you are booking with the Hotel directly. Do not use them, book direct or through a reputable travel service.

This crooked company is the worst of the worst. I pre-paid my 2 day hotel stay in Chicago. When I arrived late at night the hotel was sold out - they did not have a room for me. The hotel manager at the Westin was very nice - he helped me find a room, down the road and gave me his contact information. He later forwarded me an email showing that the Westin refunded the room cost in full. Problem is - they sent the refund to reservations.com. Reservations.com refused to refund me. After many emails and several calls I finally gave up. They got paid 2 times and I never even got to use the room. What a sham this company is! Terrible customer service! Beware!

They lured me in online - confirming a $195 refundable rate per night - and then added an extra $152 per night after I entered my credit card information - in "tax recovery charges and fees" (for a total of $347 per night). The fine print on the website said they keep any difference in price, if taxes are lower. Once I realized I had been conned, I double checked the hotel website and found the same room with taxes and added fees was $261 per night (not $347 per night). I called reservations.com to cancel (within 2 minutes of the booking) and they kept a $58 non-refundable service fee (after pushing the word "refundable" at every turn through the booking process). They only told me they were keeping the $58 dollars when I pushed them about my refund amount. This business and these practices should be shut down. EGREGIOUSLY DECEPTIVE. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

They charged us twice for a hotel reservation. We kept calling for 3 months to get a refund of the overcharge, and they kept saying that the refund is on the way. We called the hotel to see if we could get a refund from them, but they said that they do business directly with Reservations.com, so any overpayment refund needs to come from them. In the end, we just need to write off our refund request as a lesson learned.

This company should be closed for deceptive business practices. Like many, I went on to the Marriott website to book hotel reservations and they intercepted by internet search with a sneaky, deceptive website intercept page that made them appear to be the Marriott business. Unfortunately, I booked my hotel reservation with them before I realized that I was using a third party. As I went to modify my arrival date, I realized just how bad they were. Any change would require me to lose my entire trip payment. Marriott was willing to help but this was not a Marriott issue. I think there should be grounds for a class-action legal suit based on the "change dates" they use to allow for modifying the reservations are all in the past. So if you booked a reservation today, you would have had to cancel that reservation two or three days before you made it, for the change to apply. This is fraudulent behavior as it would be impossible for anyone to change a reservation. I would like the Florida Attorney General to investigate this company. Every major hotel change will give you 24 hours to modify a reservation if you have made a mistake - but not this company. 5 minutes after I realized I made a mistake, it was too late. This is a major scam policy. Fraudulent behavior. I think the BBB should take this policy to court in all 50 states or on a federal court to eliminate this behavior. Their call centers are very well educated on this whole policy and are worthless. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. Angry note to follow...

Thought I made a reservation with an independent hotel in Eugene, OR directly with the hotel. Turns out the SEO put the site "hotel name"/reservations.com at the top. I did not see this until I got the confirmation on my ****, with also showed a $37.95 "Service Fee". Called the hotel and they said, unfortunately, this has happened several times. So I cancelled through Reservations.com (a singularly horrible experience} and told the hotel they lost a booking. I then booked with a chain hotel (Hyatt). Reservations.com is a partner of Expedia.

So, I will never use either site again. I had **** block the merchant number for both sites.

This is how so many shadow organizations work. You do something you've done hundreds of times and get screwed. It now means all of us need to take extra time, researching even legitimate sites to ensure they are not part of something like this. As for complaining, it may make me feel a little better, but it will have literally zero impact.

Oh, and like most people referring to this slimey site, I would give it zero stars if I could.

I just made a hotel reservation using reservations.com by cell phone either yesterday (oct 1) or the day before for a hotel in Chicago at Thanksgiving, almost 2 months from now. When I looked up the hotel cost at the hotel website today for the same 5 nights, the hotel's cost was $1000 less. I called reservations.com twice as they hung up once on me. I was very polite, but firm about my request to lower the price or cancel the reservation. They said both times (and I spoke with supervisors) that they can't give me a credit or cancel the reservation because i agreed to the price when I made the reservation. I asked for a fair price adjustment and they said they won't do it since I agree to the price at the onset. I feel they have very deceptive practices and have a very inflexible, noncaring policy. This is very unfair and they will not adjust the price. They know they are overcharging and inferred it's all my fault for agreeing to it, to begin with. When I spoke with Hotel Zachary, they said Reservations.com must have double charged me, but they didn't. Reservations.com just over-charged and won't offer any reimbursement to lower the cost to a reasonable amount.
