My family booked ****** club unit *************************************************** through booking for the week of Christmas. It is managed by Distinctive Beach rentals and Vtrips. Woke up Christmas Eve covered in CONFIRMED bed bug bites. They did move us to another condo through ****** that was disgusting. We checked out Christmas morning and drove 10 hours home. I just received my belongings and luggage today..3 weeks later. They literally shipped my suitcases as is and now they are filthy. I received a partial refund..I asked for a full refund. The lack of customer service and respect from the staff is unacceptable. ***** this company.Review from katherine K

We rented a condo on-line through Vtrips/Distinctive Beach Rentals at ******************************************************************************************************* The week prior to our arrival we spoke with an agent to discuss entry code for unit, security gate pass, etc. The day prior to our arrival we received door code, security gate pass. The morning of the arrival we received a text stating if unit was ready before 4 pm we would be informed. When we drove to our building, it was boarded off and no entry was allowed. We were confused so we contacted Security who came to meet us immediately. They informed us there was a renovation project going on which is a year long project and that all owners, *** members, etc. were well aware of this project. The building we rented started in October and would not be completed for about 2 months. We contacted Vtrips/Distinctive Beach Rentals immediately and they said our unit is no longer available and we needed to move to another unit...they moved us to unit #*** in an adjacent building which was subpar. Manager informed us that it was the only unit available and we could stay there or get a refund and fly home. Upon closer inspection of the unit, we noted a lot of issues - holes in wall, not cleaned, new windows installed that were not finished, slider door not locking, ice maker not working, stains on carpets, etc. We contacted the rental company and they said they would send someone for the ice maker the next day - no one ever showed our entire stay. The other items they said they would address after we left. We spoke with the ******* on the renovation job on Monday morning as well as a few home owners and security staff. Vtrips/DIstinctive Beach Rentals kept telling us that the *** did not inform them of the renovations or any delays - however, we found this to be a lie. We were informed that they have had a lot of issue with Vtrips/Distincitive Beach Rentals.Review from Annette C

COASTAL CUTIE - BED BUGS!!!Our Coastal Cutie weekend experience. At bedtime we found bugs, identified as bed bugs from an app, on the bunk beds. We packed everything up and left at 1:00 a.m. I called the after-hours number for Silver Sands Rental. The gentleman I spoke with was very nice but not helpful. I called the next morning and spoke with *****. I was told maintenance was going to check out the property and they would let me know what they found. After several hours, she called to tell me they tore the bed down and nothing was found. I told her we had photos of the bugs on the bunk beds. She then said, Oh, I will have them check the bunk room. My thought was, why had ALL rooms not been checked. ***** never called back to confirm or apologize, I just received an email saying I would receive a refund 5 10 days later. We will never use a property managed by Silver Sands Rental - Vtrips again. Vrbo was great in their effort to help resolve the issue. They refunded their service fees immediately.Review from jack j

The cabin looked great until the roaches started coming at when opening up doors. The windows in master bedroom the blinds didnt cover the windows 2 inches on both sides. The gaming system down stairs didnt work. When we contacted someone no one showed up . We left a day early and stayed in a hotel because of the bugsReview from Ann S

My confirmed beach condo reservation was cancelled by Distinctive Beach Rentals, also known as ******************* operating under VTrips. Other reviewers have had the same problem. There are multiple complaints about their company at the Better Business Bureau. I wish that I had known this before devoting a considerable amount of time, choosing the perfect 3BR unit at *********** Breakers for our 4-night family reunion. I booked on May 8 for June 7 arrival. They notified me on May 24 that they needed to cancel my reservation with no reason given. This caused our family a major problem, scrambling to find a suitable replacement during the high season.I finally discovered that the Breakers condo association does not allow rental of less than 2 weeks for the 3BR units what kind of responsible leasing company offers a unit for rent on VRBO, Booking.com and multiple similar websites for anything less than the required minimum time? Distinctive Beach Rentals availability calendar across multiple sites showed several June bookings of much less than 2 weeks each at the time of my notification; these were all apparently cancelled, because the calendar cleared shortly thereafter. The very professional, established leasing agent with whom I found a replacement unit informed me that Distinctive has a less than desirable reputation. Congratulations to those who chose this company and had no problemdo yourself a simple favor and choose a different leasing company to avoid a potential headache.Review from Shelli S

My family and I recently rented the cabin Dreams and Streams in **********. We had a horrible experience with this rental. We were only at the cabin for a couple of hours and noticed our dog was scratching a lot. Upon inspection of her we found multiple fleas on her. After calling the phone number left for issues, we were asked to send pictures. We did and got no response. I called the number again because it was now about 1000 pm and we were not comfortable staying in this cabin. I again was told they would submit the claim and get back to me. In the meantime we found additional fleas on the floors of the cabin and even found flea bites on my son's lower leg. Still not hearing anything back we finally packed all our belongings up and left the cabin to find a hotel. It was now 1100 pm and we were left searching for a hotel that had availability and would take a dog. I called the service number a 3rd time and was told pest control would be to the property the next morning. I expressed my frustration and told them we were no longer staying at the property. We were contacted the next day and were informed of 2 cabins that were available for us to pick from. The cabins were both only 1 bedroom while the first was a 2 bedroom. The switch was seamless, which I appreciate greatly. We were reimbursed for the difference in cost of the 2 cabins but I requested for compensation of our 1st nights stay in which we didn't stay at the flea infested cabin. I was told management needed to be contacted for this. I have not received any reimbursement nor have I heard from your company at all. Notified 1 hour before arrival that air conditioning was broken. We were told it would be fixed. When it wasn't fixed, we were told we would be refunded for the days we didn't use if we wanted to check out early. At the point Vtrips stopped communicating with us so we disputed the charge with Amex, who for some reason sided with Vtrips. We've now been charged for 5 days of a stay in which we weren't even in the house. It was 87 degrees INSIDE. We had children with us. They KNEW the ac was not functioning because the **** company that did show up (and didn't fix it) told us they had been out 2 days prior.Review from Melissa M.

f I could give this company a negative 5, I would! We have rented a home for July, 15th - July 19th. Unfortunately, Hurricane ***** has hit, one week before our vacation. I have a friend who lives on the same street and they have been told they will be without power for 2 weeks at the earliest, homes are missing roofs, etc. When I called to ask what the protocol is and if our home was in any condition to stay, I was told I would find out 1-2 days before we check-in, as this is "a day by day process."We were told we will not receive a refund because this is an unforeseen circumstance (if they have to cancel). I understand not receiving a refund if I cancel, however, if they cancel, I should receive a refund or be moved to another property.I am in a situation where I am unable to plan another vacation because they are unwilling to work with me, unwilling to check the property, unwilling to contact the owner, and told me they would contact me ***** hours before my 4 pm check in time.Their customer service is terrible! Zero stars!Cancelled trip 10 days before my vacation. They did not clearly state that *************** has a seven-night minimum requirement, which they say has been in effect for years. I have been renting in ************************************** for years and NEVER had this issue.Their answer, others are not following the law but they are.However, I have rented *************** beach homes from them, and I have never stayed a minimum of 7 nights.No care, no resolution, not their problem.VTrips Response

Terrible experience with Jackson Mountsin Rentals! Mice droppings in the pull out beds, kitchen was dirty, and several rooms had no hot water for the entire stay of 3 days! We called every single day and was told someone was in the way. Never showed up! We had to literally pack our stuff and take it to someone else’s room to bathe! Spent over $2000 (over 800 in unexplained fees)for 3 days and they want to offer us $80 for our inconvenience! I’ll be contacting a lawyer because this is fraud! The entire place needs updating and not to mention some of the tvs didn’t work. We were fine with that but no hot water and mice droppings is absolutely unacceptable! Lastly there’s a carpenter bee problem in front and the swarm definitely kept us running just to get in the cabin!We stayed at Pine tree Lodge!VTrips Response
