My father, a disabled veteran, purchased a vehicle from this company and had it delivered to him in ******, **. He has PTSD and rarely leaves his home. He had phone conversations with them that the car was in good working order. We would like a refund and them to pay the shipping of the car from **** to them and the money my dad spent on fixing the first set of problems we found with the car. The car has since sat in our driveway as we have tried to get them to remedy this issue. They sent all paperwork to me to sign however I was not the purchaser, my dad was. He did not sign anything pertaining to this vehicle.Vehicle was purchased for $4300 plus $1220 for warranty and car delivery fee oPaid $1220 via venmo and 4300 via bank check Car was delivered to ********************* on February 3 ********************* took it to Tire Kingdom for an oil change and tire rotation for $88.65 On February 7 ********************* took the vehicle to ***** Auto to have it looked over. They found that it had an engine leak, needed brakes and had no heat which is needed for Iowa *******. That all cost an additional $1844.81 We arrived in ******* from **** on February 9 and left with the car on February 12 While in ******* we drove around and the over drive light came on and we took it to ***** Auto they said it might be a transmission issue but they were not a transmission shop and didnt know for sure.About 4 hours into our trip the check engine light came on. By the time we made it to **********, ******* we stopped for the night and had it looked at in the morning.February 13 we took it to ORielly Auto Parts to see what the codes were reading and it came back that it was the transmission. They suggested we take it to ************** Brothers and we took it there and they read the codes themselves and said the transmission was shot and that it needed to be replaced. They said they didnt recommend driving it especially since we had 900 miles left to get home. I called the warranty company and talked to **** who said they would only cover up to $2000 for a transmission and they would need to send adjusters out first as we had only had the car a few days. We had to stay another night while I tried to figure out how to get the mustang to ****. February 14 found a car company to deliver the car to **** for $756 and had to rent a car for us to drive back home for $403.84 The car was delivered on February 16 and was taken to J&K Auto to look at the car and give an estimate for new transmission. That estimate was for $4500 for rebuilt and $6500 for new. We also called a well known transmission shop and got a quote from them for $5500. We began trying to contact Standard Auto via phone, email and ******** messenger and they would not return calls for several days. We finally got in touch with *** who still has done nothing about the car. We sent letters to *****************, owner and they sent a letter back saying we must have done something to the car and that we signed a document that we would not take them to court, it does show my signature, however, I was not the one who purchased the car, my dad ********************* was. They had the wrong person sign the paper work. We would like them to refund us the money for the car and pay to have it hauled back down to their store, and pay for the repairs that *** had done to the car.

I am rejecting this response because:

Yes, my father thanked you until we found out that it was a bad car. The warranty said they would need to send out a tech because we should not be calling them for a warranty issue just days after we received the car from them, plus the warranty company said that we received the lowest warranty and that it would only cover $2000 toward a transmission, and our quotes for a transmission were between $5000-6000. (The warranty said, that would even depend on if they would cover it after the inspection since it was only days after buying the car). We ended up canceling the warranty as it would not even cover the needed repairs and the warranty company has said you received the funds on April 16, yet here on May 22 you still have not given us the refund for the warranty either. I know the warranty compnay has gotten involved with your lack of sending out the refund on a timely manner. You also do not repsind to calls or texts abou the warranty refund.

      Sincerely,

I purchased my vehicle on 10/24/23 from Standard Auto. When I purchased it the sales manager, *** reported the oil had been changed, it had new brakes, new filters and a tune up. I purchased the vehicle with the reassurance from Ray these items were completed prior to purchasing. I even wrote it down in his office and had him repeat it so I had it wrote down correctly and my daughter who was with me could hear it. Within less than 24 hours from purchasing the vehicle, the service engine light came on. I contacted *** Immediately and he said to take to Auto Zone and it was most likely due to putting gas in the vehicle. I did take it to Auto Zone and they would not remove the code. I added the document from Auto Zone. I attempted to do everything and more *** told me do to. Put premium gas, buy a new gas cap etc. The light did not go off. On 11/7 I brought the vehicle to *** with my daughter and he said it was just a malfunction with the bulb and removed the code. I did ask him if the code would come back on, he reassured me it wouldn't. Within an hour after leaving his shop the engine light was back on. I attempted to contact him by text, he did not respond. (I attached the screenshot of all the convos). On 11/9, I took it to ************* to get it diagnosed and they reported it had no oil in it, the brakes and rotators need changed and needs a new catalytic converter. I texted *** and asked him if he changed the oil. He said yes. Clearly nothing was completed as *** said.If you review the reports on this shop under BBB this seems to be his thing to just turn the code light off, sell the vehicle, then not respond- leaving customers in a really bad position. I understand the vehicle is sold "as is" and I purchased the vehicle as he told me those items were newly done. Therefore he should be responsible to complete the necessary repairs, including the oil change, tune up, brakes/rotators. He also said he ordered the grill panel and I have never received it.

Good Morning. We sell all our vehicles AS-IS. When the vehicle left our property it was in perfect running condition with no lights on the dash board. A few weeks later they contacted us about a check engine light. I offered them to come down and let us scan it. Instead they took it to a mechanic and they said it was a gas cap. So the customer changed it and then it came on again saying its something else. Custom said O2 sensor is now the issue the mechanic stated. I do apologize for any inconvenience but it was sold as is. Thank You.

They sold me a car and promised to stand by there cars if anything is wrong they would fix it I drove off and a light came on immediately I called the salesman and explained the situation He also sold me a warranty under false pretenses and said it would cover my issues. They are putting me off and not resolving the issue The salesman has lied to me several times promising a resolution and is just wasting time I have proof of all his lies and tricks on my phone

All our vehicles are sold as is. Also signed for multiple times on our paper work. We told the customer about the issue to her and her husband and we gave them a very fair discount to fix the repair. Wasn't causing any issue of driving it was only making the tire light be on. We even sent her the link for the part so she could repair it cheaper than the discount we gave them. Sorry for any inconvenience.

I am rejecting this response because:

The person who responded is lying

I have text messages with proof

the discount was done during negotiations

The salesperson told us he would stand by his cars. The tire sensor issue is the least of the concerns and he knows that. He told me to buy the part and that he would get someone to fix it. He kept pushing off scheduling that supposed appointment for over two weeks. The other issue which I called about not even two hours after purchasing the car (I have proof ) The car wont go past 20mph; I brought it back and he test drove it and knows exactly what I am talking about. Its about the safety at this point.

He gave his word that he stands by his cars which he promised over and over again when he was trying to sell it. I asked if I could bring it to get checked out prior to buying it. His excuse was that his plates wont go past the parking lot. But not to worry he would stand by any issues. Now I know why he wouldnt let me get it checked out. He even told me he has a family and knows the importance of safety as he knew my daughter would be driving this car. Liar!!

i dont want people buying from this dealership. They will be lied to it to make a sale! Everyone I talk to says that when they have bought cars from dealers, they stand by their word and car. Especially if the issue was presented the day it was purchased like I did. Again I have proof on text and with his response. I asked to speak to the owner several times; he never gave me that information. For all I know he is the owner.

      Sincerely,

I purchased a car advertised in Car Gurus for my daughter in ******** from Standard Auto of Tampa on March 16, 2023. I was assured that the car was reliable and safe. I was lied to. The car was making a noise so I took it to three different mechanics and was told by all that the car was in an undisclosed wreck doing extensive damage to the undercarriage. Estimates are $5-6000.00 to make it safe to drive. The dealer said I bought it as is and want do anything to remedy the problem. I relied on the seller to be honest and trustworthy but not the case. The car is in my driveway and I cant do anything with it. I am 74 years old , a veteran, and expect businesses to be honest.

I am rejecting this response because: I've had the car for this long because it has been in several different mechanic shops trying to find someone to work on it. I have attached my original letter to the dealer and some estimates for the needed repairs. I would be willing to work with the dealer on the repairs and get the car in a safe condition to sell. I cannot send this car to my daughter because of existing and future repairs needed. The dealer had to know the extent of the damages if he indeed did put new brakes on the vehicle. The car is in my driveway and is undrivable.
The estimate from ****'s auto is for parts only. I am waiting for the labor quote.

On 2-11-23 I purchased a 2014 *********** from the dealorship. I did not purchase a warranty. On 11-22-23 the engine failed in ****** **. The service ******** had it taken to advised me that the engine in the car was not the original one and had unknown miles on it. If I had been informed of this on the day of purchase I would have refused to buy the car and would have bought another or at another dealer. The purchase price I paid cash for was $7,096.00. After many calls to the dealer that went directly to voice mail I returned to the dealer ande was not able to see the owner who was not present. My salesman suggested he would talk to the owner about putting a warranty on the car and having it repaired under said warranty. On 2-27-23 the salesman text me a message that the owner was unwilling to remedy the situation. I believe in ******* I have the right to reject the car due to the misrepresentation on the motor am entitled to a full refund within 30 days of purchase. Their failure to present to me the car fax report I requested and they claimed they had was also a concern. Being a senior citizen should not give anyone the right to misrepresent their products.

We do apologize for and inconvenience with the vehicle. We offered a warranty to you as you were purchasing the vehicle and you refused. All our vehicles are sold AS-IS and signed for multiple times on different papers. The Carfax history report was handed to you as you were waiting for the salesman to finish the paperwork. You drove the car on a test drive for over 15 miles also left it running to check for over heating. We do not know what happed or what could have caused any issue as you took it and contacted us multiple days later. Also our staff as they made sure the vehicle was ready and noticed a couple bulbs out and we handled that for you also. Again sorry for any inconvenience. Thank You!!

Hi my name is *********************** and on 10/20/22 Thurs I was sold a used 2011 Jeep liberty Sport. and financed through ********************** from Standard auto Tarpon. The car had check engine light on I've asked numerous times for carfax report before and after the purchase. THE dealership will not GIVE ME A COPY even though they said they would many times asked infront of witness too. Dealer also agreed to repairing vehicle after I paid 211$ for a diagnostic test from ************************* mechanic about the check engine light. Heater core and reverse solenoid were to be replaced on transmission. The heater core had broke on the car that it left it undriveable and had to be towed to their lot the same day. The first week the vehicle was purchased it was sent to their mechanic from when we towed it and i never saw one receipt for repair that they claimed was $950 paid for by them to make this right. They won't answer my text messages about the repairs they did or the coolant leak my car still has going on oh and this week on thurs 11/10 vehicle got stuck in reverse and shut off in a public parking lot. very terrifying, had to call family for help. I've took the car for a quote and carmax on 11/12 they are only offering $2,000. why is this car marked up so much **** $ and now costing me over $11,000 and the financial bank will not get me any of my info/documents on a warranty I was sold extra for. No carfax report. No one cares about the car or the customer. just the cash which. I had to put down (2) cash payments 1. $500 2. $200. I now have huge problem and my first $313 car payment is due 11/20 and I'm extremely unsatisfied with the deception. I will be paying my loan and staying away from these predatory pricing/companies. I do have all phone logs/texts pictures and finical document receipts stored. I just want a resolution/response about the previous repair that was completed on the vehicle and my car fax/ history report they need to provide that it's my right. thank you

Ray, No way! how am I satisfied right now if you have not returned my responses in regards to the repair? I have sent the texts log with you not even responding on any of the days Ive messaged you in regards to the Jeep repairs. Wheres the carfax report? Why you hiding it? Why cant I have what I purchased that you said you had for me the last 3 times I asked for the documents!? The customer survey of the smile face you received was because you said I needed to finish that with the receipt. The happy face was in regards to the down payment I paid and my plates being put on. Which great job you really know how to prey and take peoples money!! The car still having the same repair issues does not make me happy glad you think I am . I will be leaving ****** reviews and call whoever I need to get my point across. Lets make this make sense. I guess I will need to proceed with my family and need resume with a legal aid what a headache, Best wishes.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/12/10) */ He inspected the car thoroughly and test drove it. That was also done again by him the next day and the car was in great condition both days. If there had been an issue with the car any of these two days, it would not have been sold. During the time that the car was here it was being taken care of very well. We did try to offer him an extended warranty during the day of the purchase and he refused, therefore the car has been sold AS IS, without any warranties on the car and it has been signed on.
