I have been trying to get Greensky to clear my account from collections on my account. I have initiated and paid a negotiable amount on account and paid it over two months ago. I have made several attempts to get them to clear my account. It is still showing a balance and late fees. I wish for them to close this account and show a zero balance. I paid the amount WE NEGOTIATED on. I would not recommend this business to anyone.Business response

We apologize for any inconvenience the customer experienced. We contacted the customer by phone and via email and he was unresponsive. The customers account is closed. An update will be submitted to the credit bureaus to reflect the match pay settlement as agreed. GreenSky offered up an autopay setting for a loan, which I took on. Twice now, has the minimum payment of the loan changed and:- I was not notified of this change - My autopay amount was not adjusted to reflect the new minimum payment As of May 2024, GreenSky charges a $39 late fee for loans late 10 days. For the last 3 months, I was assessed late fees over a minimum payment change of 47 cents (that apparently has been the case since August 2023, which I also received no communication on).Notifications sent from GreenSky only disclose the minimum payment I have committed to, but do not show the minimum amount that is due. Unless I go into the platform (which I haven't as that's basically the point of Autopay), there is no way I would have known this until I got a called (after 3 months of fees assessed) to discuss with a rep.This lack of communication and automation, thankfully has done very little damage...but with the new late fees, one could only imagine others who get surprised with this.In my "desired resolution" I am asking a refund, which is simply to remove the late fees assessed so far.Business response

GreenSky contacted the customer and reviewed that he was on a promotion.As a result, his minimum payment changed at the end of his promotion. The customer set up autopay for a fixed amount and therefore needed to change his fixed amount when the amount due changed. The customers monthly statement included information about his new monthly payment. The customer stated he set up auto pay so that he did not have to review his monthly statement. He requested to have the late payments fees waived. As a courtesy, the customers late payment fees were waived. The customers AutoPay is now set to Minimum Due, so his future monthly payments will automatically adjust when the minimum payment changes. The customer is satisfied. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.Though this does resolve MY case, I did make suggestions to the company to improve their communication. Despite the weird nuance of their autopay feature, the issue still stands of a lack of reasonable communication, including short payments, "late" payment notifications, or any proactive, clear notification of a change in minimum payments. No, buried in a monthly statement doesn't satisfy notification criteria of "your minimum payment is changing." Even student loan financers offer more courtesy - especially if there is no short/late payment notification to follow up.
So, still work to do.

I have repeatedly contacted Greensky about my loans (I have 2) through them, with little or no response.The loan payments and finance charges Reported on Accounts are sloppy, misleading, confusing.I have told them in past they are not recording my payments on account.Today I find NO payments recorded on account for past 2 months: June + July.Instead they ADD usurious finance charges which should Not be added, as this loan is in "promotional" period !Business response

GreenSky reviewed the customers accounts and determined he has two accounts with us. The customer reviewed his payment confirmation numbers and found that it was the same on both payment confirmation emails he received. GreenSky determined that the payment he made in **** was applied correctly to one of his two accounts. The customer confirmed the payment amount was only deducted from his bank account once. ********************** went over the payment history on both of his GreenSky accounts to ensure all other payments had posted. GreenSky also explained that we show the accruing deferred interest on his monthly statements, however, the interest will be waived if he pays the purchase amount within his promotion period. I received a bill from greensky saying I owed a bunch of money I'm not aware of and I feel like I'm being used due to my sickness and me being elderly. This isn't a way to treat a customer. If proper documents can be provided I want to see where I signed for this loan. If not I want to rid of this debt please.Business response

GreenSky reviewed the account and based on our records the account was activated from the customers email. We spoke with the customer, and he confirmed that he was familiar with the merchant and inquired about them cleaning his gutters. The customer stated that the merchant told him that they did not clean gutters. The customer also stated he did not apply for or authorize the GreenSky loan because he was in the hospital. The customer was advised that we would need a police report to continue our investigation if he did not authorize this account. We are waiting for the customer to provide the requested report. The merchant provided GreenSky with of a signed contract that stated they would clean the gutters and a payment authorization form and stated they provide the services. Other provider applied for a loan through Green Sky for dental implants . The job was never completed even though they promised so . Now they are saying they can not do anything about it and still paying them for something that was not done because dont want to mess up my credit . They are connected with health providers to scam people at high interest rates . $Over ****** later plus interest .Business response

GreenSky called the customer, she refused to verify her account information for security and disconnected the calls. Previously, the provider was notified of the customers complaint about the incomplete dental treatments. The provider confirmed that the customers dental treatments were completed and they offered to contact the customer about her complaint. While we do understand the customer is not satisfied with her interest rate, our records indicate the customer activated her loan on 1-13-2022 and she authorized the merchant to process the transaction to her loan. I was offered 0% financing for my Pella doors. The rep and contract concurred with the offer. After 6months my payment went up $10. I inquired with the online chat because you cannot talk to a live person and was told to read the key terms which states the introductory period ends 6months from loan agreement. 2.08% of balance during purchase with does not to exceed the unpaid balance? But the truth and lending disclosure picture I included clearly states the payment schedule with no mention of an introductory 6mo period. If that were there intention to add (2.08%) it should be disclosed on the payment schedule.Business response

GreenSky spoke with the customer and explained that the payments during her promotion period were calculated based on the aggregate purchase amount. When the promotion period ended, the remaining account balance was divided by the remaining months for her loan, causing her monthly payment to increase. GreenSky confirmed the customer has a 0% interest loan and the customer has not been charged interest on the loan. We apologize for any inconvenience or miscommunication the customer experienced during the sale of the project. GreenSky reviewed the customers account and confirmed that the customer signed a contract with her merchant authorizing the financing of the GreenSky loan and made payments on the loan as well. The customer has previously been provided with her loan documents and payment history to validate the debt owed. GreenSky has an obligation to report accurate account information to the consumer reporting agencies in compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act and will not be able to remove the account from her ********************** reporting . GreenSky has attempted to reach the customer to advise her of the status of her account but she has been unresponsive. I entered into a contract with Patio Enclosures on 6/8/24, which I canceled within the 3 business day period. I mailed the cancellation notice on 6/10/24 via **** Express 2-day, signature requested, with a scheduled delivery date of 6/12/24 by 6:00 PM. It was received by Patio Enclosures on 6/13/24 at 11:45 AM. I do not control **** delivery, however, it was received and signed for by a "PS" (signature illegible). GreenSky was cc'd regarding the cancellation by email. They emailed me on 6/11/24 stating "Per your request, we have closed your account effective immediately. You will receive a closed account letter by mail in 7-10 business days," which was sent by "Your Customer Advocate, FS." I have not received a closing letter; all I received was a packet from GreenSky stating "Congratulations on your project with Green Day Improvements, LLC **********." Patio Enclosures received a deposit of approximately $3,636.52, which ********************* of Great Day Improvements reassured me on 6/10/24 that "The deposit has been reversed." GreenSky neither had nor has a right to receive any payments since this contract was canceled by me. I want this matter closed out; all 3 credit bureaus notified that this was closed at my request; I want the open credit limit of $12,122.00 closed out since this was canceled by me; I want every company involved in this transaction to cease and desist calling, emailing, texting, or contacting me in any way (other than to advise through the BBB that this matter is now closed). I will not do business with companies who receive and send money to which they are not entitled and to which I am under no obligation to pay since my contract was canceled. My Notice of Cancellation was mailed at 9:25 AM on 6/10/24, the first business day after signing the contract, Saturday is not a business day. I do not control the ****. Patio Enclosures received the cancellation; this matter needs to be closed once and for all. You cannot legally force a contract on anyone!Business response

The account is now closed with a zero balance. GreenSky has reached out to the customer to advise but she has been unresponsive. I am rejecting this response because:They have not provided proof that the credit bureaus were informed that I no longer have an open credit account with them or any other company(ies) involved in this matter. I do not wish to have a credit report pulled on my personal credit file showing that I have open credit available of $12,000+. Please provide proof that the credit bureaus (all three and any of which I am unaware) have been notified that this was closed at my request and that there are no negative consequences on my part.

GreenSky was able to speak with the customer and confirm that a request was also submitted to the credit agencies to remove the tradeline from her credit report. The customer was advised to allow up to 30 days for the change to reflect on her report. This has to do with a loan from them for replacement windows from ********. The contract gives me 1 year to pay off the loan without interest, but they are still changing interest on the loan.Business response

GreenSky was able to speak with the customer and he confirmed that the merchant did explain an interest free plan to him, but he decided to go with another plan instead to give him more time to pay off the loan. GreenSky confirmed with the customer that making payments above the minimum amount due each month will assist in making the balance go down faster. The customer was satisfied and did not have any other questions or concerns. At GreenSky we strive for excellent customer service and will continue to improve our process.Customer response
