On 06/08/2023 AAA offered towing service after advising me that none of their drivers had an available battery to replace my warranty battery. A tow was offered to take my car to one of two of AAA's repair facilities. I choose the closest one to me and I was advised I could ride with tow truck driver. I was further advised by AAA that the repair facility would replace my battery once I arrived; however, they were closing once I arrived and advised changing my battery in the morning. Unhappy with this because I would have either waited till morning for delivery of my battery or had the tow truck driver drop off the car without me. I called AAA who asked whether I paid for my tow before I could complain of the above. I answered yes and AAA advised that CJ Taylor Towing should not have charged me $154 stating they have called CJ Taylor Towing 3 times to advise I'm a plus member meaning I get a 100mi free towing. CJ Taylor Towing is arguing their system shows I'm a classic member, which means I get 5mi. The distance was only 27mi and CJ Taylor Towing is only an independent contractor not AAA who actually sales the membership. If I paid for plus membership with AAA and they have advised CJ Taylor Towing of this then my membership should be honored and CJ Taylor Towing should do the responsible thing and refund me my $154.
