An app that I regularly use to monitor credit score, Credit Karma had a notification that I had a great chance of obtaining personal loan to consolidate credit through Lending Point. I completed the applicaton and was given approval. I signed the contract with the loan agreement which provided the APR, finance charge, and amount financed. The website asked for my bank account information to set up for ACH deposit of the loan and withdrawal for monthly payments. The date of deposit for the loan was suppose to be April 17th. The day before the deposit was scheduled to arrive, I receive email from Lending Point stating they couldn't ***** the loan. This company did a bait and switch. They collected all my personal information, banking information, employment, and credit report which had score over 700 and misleading customers by providing fake agreement and not honoring it.Business Response

To the **************************** Lending point, First and foremost, I am truly disappointed with the response I have received from your department. I spoke to your representative after I was late making the June-2022 payment and I was assured by your representative that this payment "WILL NOT BE REPORTED MORE THAN 30 DAYS LATE". However, in March-2023 Lending Point quality assurance department reported my payment late for July-2022 and August-2022. Resulting in me being reported ***** days past due on my payment history with the 3 credit bureaus. I have an open case "********" with a representative of lending point and got no resolution. I will be advocating for the mistreatment and inaccurate reporting your department is putting on my credit report. Please, someone from your department needs to contact me to resolve this matter.Business Response

Thank you for reaching out with your concerns. We have reviewed the account in question and have concluded that the credit bureaus have received accurate information. We also reviewed all communications and listened to the phone calls and can confirm our team did not state that your late payments would not be reported to the credit bureaus. LendingPoints policy is that we report accurately to all credit bureaus, and thus do not remove or delete late payments for goodwill. In your signed loan agreement, you were advised and agreed that LendingPoint would report information about your account and payment history to the credit bureaus. I have a loan with Lending Point. Lending Point is a predatory internet loan servicing company. When the loan was established, it was to have the payment deducted from my account, which I do not like. Four months ago on the payment date, the payment was returned for insufficient funds and I logged and made a manual payment, thinking next month Lending Point would start deducting the monthly payment. Now after four months I have discovered that Lending Point has not deducted any of my monthly payments nor have they emailed me to tell me that they are no longer deducting my monthly payment's. The only email I received was that my account is now 155 over due when I though all along they were deducting their payments. I have called Lending Point three times in the last 10 days tp figure out what is happening and have them bring this account up to date because of their lack of communication. All three times that I have called, the representative was rude and actually argued with me and when I explained that Lending Point has not emailed me with any information about them not deducting my payment, I have always been put on hold for ever. No one ever came back on the line. It seems that Lending Point has extremely poor customer service and they try to incur late fees on customer accounts on purpose to generate extra revenue. I have called to get this account current but I cannot find any one helpful or can talk plain English.Business Response

Thank you for reaching out to us with your concerns. We checked our system and do not have an application with your name, address, or email address. This appears to be the work of bad actors using our name to contact innocent consumers with a promise of a loan in an attempt to access bank account information. We are not affiliated with these bad actors and are actively working to shut them down. In the meantime, we suggest contacting your local police and submitting an internet crimes report to the *** at https:www.ic3.gov and taking all appropriate steps to protect your identity, including calling the credit bureaus. Thank you for your informing us so we can continue our efforts.Customer Answer

On July 13, 2022, LendingPoint received a loan application with your name and personal information through the online portal. Upon receiving the loan application, we verified your name, date of birth, and social security number.
You also provided LendingPoint with your Navy FCU account statement to verify the account where the funds would be deposited and automatic payments would be made. We were able to verify the account was open, active and belonged to you.
With the application, you also provided a copy of your ************ identification card to confirm your identity.
After verifying your information, we approved the loan application and funded the account with a deposit into the verified Navy FCU account on July 14, 2022 .
We would like to note that the identification card provided during the application process matches the one you provided to LendingPoint on January 17, 2023 to support your initial claim of ID theft. The verified Navy FCU account was used to make three of the five payments made on this loan. In addition, a LendingPoint representative spoke to you regarding the application prior to funding and the loan after funding at the same telephone number provided in your complaint.
Based on our review of your application information and the documents submitted with this complaint, we can confirm your personal identity was correctly verified, and the debt is valid.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: on December 27 of 2022, all three credit bureau TransUnion, Equifax and Experian conducted a investigation in identity theft accounts on my credit report and all three bureau concluded that identity theft did occur and removed lending points account from my credit reports. However lending point is refusing to closed this account wit a $0 balance.
Sincerely, I did not apply for this account with LendingPoint even though you have a picture of my ID and a bank account, (that is a joint account not just mine) does not dispel the fact that this loan is not mine. Furthermore on January 4, 2023 I sent u a certified letter certified number ******************** requesting to be supplied with a copy of the application to open the account bearing my signature and any other transaction records to me as a identity theft victim to prove this debt is mine to which is my right under FCRA 605 B(f) and 615(g). Ti which my request went unanswered. On January 11, 2023 I emailed Lending point at their main email address and I also emailed ******* at his email address regarding the verification of this account and the above mention information to which I was again ignores. Its been approximately 60 days with no investigation after requesting one on 01/04/23 to which this is also a violation of my rights under FCRA 623b2 and 611a1.
