It happened today. I was offered 4280 for my car. They advised that they come get the car and as long as it runs then I get paid. That was the only voices stipulation . The video from the owner on the website stated that the offer given is what I get paid . The video also says that I get paid before I send the title due to them having the car in hand ( usually people send title first keep car but either or works ) they made me send the title then they were going to pay me . Well they lied . I paid to have it brought over an hour away. Then after all they changed the price and gave me 1000. Which I could not afford to go all the way back and get the car. They knew that.Business Response

Ms *****,
The vehicle you are trying to sell us is in very bad shape. (2 images attached). Apparently it was in a collision on the drivers side and used doors of a different color were installed. damage to Left Front Fender is unrepaired. The vehicle scored a grade of 1.3 out of 5.0 possible. We are perplexed as to why you take issue with the price change? With several thousand dollars in repairs needed to make the vehicle commercially acceptable and sellable, the $1000 offer we made is quite generous. To make things more interesting, you posted a screen shot of a text communication admitting that you towed the vehicle in to our inspection site. We asked that the vehicle is driven because we *** to know that it operates and is drivable as designed. At this juncture, we are going to elect not to purchase your vehicle and we will be happy to tow the vehicle back to you at no cost. We enjoy very favorable ratings on BBB and ****** because we try very hard to conduct business in a very straightforward and transparent manner. Our website pricing is favorable and based upon vehicles in excellent condition - free of damage or mechanical issues. While many sellers are contracted at original offer, we do adjust for excess wear & tear and damage. The adjustments we present to the seller are not binding and you have the option to proceed or have your vehicle promptly released back to you. We will be in touch immediately to provide a status on the transportation.
Best of luck with the sale!

My 2 Corvettes, (VIN # ***************** and VIN# *****************) were picked up buy Car Buyers *** on March 6, 2025. Mr. Banks,
We dropped the ball here - so sorry for the headaches! You will be funded by wire today. In our defense, it is company policy to hold funding until the titles were received in our home office. The titles were received on Thursday March 27 and the bank wire should have happened Friday, March 28th. We are terrible sorry for this delay, we have never been accused of non-payment or default in 13 years of operation. Please email us at ******************** if there are any other questions.

Offered my truck to CarBuyers. They were friendly, but noted that they put me on a robotext that told me they EXPECTED to see my car at Manheim car sale in **********. As instructed, I left the truck at ******* in **********, **. The sale did not bring what I wanted, so I went and picked up the vehicle. No big deal. But I discovered that my ashtray was missing shortly after leaving *******. Texted and emailed CarBuyers. Sent them a picture of the holder with the missing ashtray as soon as I discovered it missing.Someone purporting to be from Carbuyers called. He agreed to compensate me. I agreed that he could simply have an ashtray delivered to make me whole. He agreed and I considered the matter resolved. No response to texts, emails or calls since that day.Business Response

Mr. Friday,
Our automated pricing tool generated a pre-inspection offer of $3308 on January 2nd, 2025. After you completed the virtual inspection we adjusted down to $1500 based on your representation that the vehicle is running and driving. After accepting this adjustment, we had difficulty getting a transporter to your area (remote location) and you found a hauler that would move the vehicle to our facility, but the transporter you suggested advised us that the vehicle DOES NOT RUN. With ******* miles, the vehicle is worth scrap value if it is inoperable and the offer is $300 and we will transport it for free. If you had represented the vehicle honestly, there would have been no misunderstanding. Not sure we can help you further **** but the offer still stands for $300 if you can't sell it elsewhere.

I am rejecting this response because:1. I had to line up my own transportation, it wasnt hard.
2. Car didnt crank that AM while was on the phone with your company.
3. I never spoke or saw a transporter.
4. I still dont have a title back.
5. Youre system keeps calling me regarding the sale.
6. Whatever, he said she said. Im not the only complaint on BBB, we are all correct and every response from you is defensive.
7. You told me 3 days ago over night title, standby for tracking number.
8. Again I call this AM and Im being told its going out today via regular mail.
9. I was told that the reason youre company would not next day air it was because I gave a one star on BBB.Awesome!
be warned!! Everyone stay away!!!!

I am writing to address a recent experience with CarbuyerUSA, which I believe constitutes both deceptive business practices and a breach of contract. On November 10, 2024, I used ************ platform to obtain an offer for my 2024 F-150 Lightning with ***** miles, which was valued up to $55,188. I was contacted by *******, who assured me that due to the trucks new condition, I should receive the full offer. I completed a virtual inspection, submitted photos, and was subsequently informed by **** that everything looked good and I would receive the full offer. He instructed me to drop off the vehicle and even offered to cover my **** ride home, though I declined.I dropped off the truck on November 15, 2024, and was told payment would be processed after delivery. On November 19, 2024, I purchased a new vehicle and reached out to *********** for the next steps. The following day, *** called and informed me that the offer was being reduced to approximately $51,000 due to the truck lacking a sunroof and leather seatsfeatures I never indicated or photographed. *** also claimed market conditions had changed and **** halted production of the model, which I acknowledged but emphasized was beyond my control.*** offered three choices: accept the lower offer, allow the vehicle to be auctioned, or retrieve the truck. I requested a compromise of $53,000, but he declined. On November 26, 2024, I received an email with no further details, only a boilerplate notice that my vehicle was available for pickup. This conduct constitutes a breach of contract and a textbook case of promissory estoppel. I intend to pursue legal action if this matter is not resolved promptly.Business Response

ALL OFFERS to purchase are (STI) Subject to Inspection. An OFFER is NOT a contract or guaranteed purchase price it is an "up to" offer which is the most that CarBuyerUSA will pay for a particular vehicle in perfect condition. This offer is subject to change based upon multiple factors including but not limited to; condition, configuration and color. Market factors could also impact final pricing like manufacturers incentives, vehicle production changes, recalls and other market forces. We do not execute a binding purchase contract until after a final post inspection assessment has been performed and presented to the customer for approval. In this case, the complainant chose not to accept the final post inspection offer and the vehicle was promptly released to his custody. There is no obligation by either party contractually.
No further assistance will be offered.

I received offer for my car for about $9500 AFTER sending dozens of detailed photos of car, vin, title, etc. They said based on pics & all info provided this quote would be true so they picked up my car on 11/6/24 to take to ******** facility for inspection. They reached out to me 11/8/24 with results of inspection which included excess B.S charges. $55 for each individual permanent stain on each seat/roof/trunk, etc. when in fact the stains WERE NOT permanent & half werent even there. They then lowballed offer of $3200, I said NO & that even the ***** dealership near my house offered me 2x that when I took my car in person previous week. I asked when I could pick my car up & they said I couldnt pick it up until they emailed me a gate pass. I called, emailed & left voicemails for 4 days telling them I had never received a gate pass to be ignored. I finally got a hold of the manager on 11/11/24 who said hed send the gate pass asap & then proceeded not to send it until that night when they were already closed. I drove an hour to said facility on 11/14/24 based on hours/lot info they gave me on the gate pass to be told my security guard my car wasnt in that lot & the lot my car was in has different hours and already closed. I called, left voicemails, etc. again all day & the next morning 11/15/24 until manager finally answered saying hed send me the correct info just for him to send the same exact wrong info 3 more times. I finally told him this was ridiculous & they could deliver my car as I wasnt going to drive another 2 hrs wasting ********** when they couldnt tell me where my car was, he agreed & said my car would be delivered 11/18/24. It is now 11/19/24 & my car has still not been delivered, they have had it almost 2 weeks & ignore all my calls, voicemails and emails. I threatened ************** as my lawyer said this is conversion of property & now supposedly it will be delivered today! I guess well see as at this point it truly seems like theftBusiness Response

Ms. ********,
Your car has been returned to you at our expense. We towed your car in for free, and returned it for free. This was done as a courtesy as our partner facility was 36 miles from you. With respect to the condition, the vehicle has 4 accidents, structural damage, and $7000+ in chargeable excess wear & tear. We made our offer without images or consideration of condition as we always do. Until we physically inspect, we have no idea what the true condition is the pictures give us a general idea of any outlying conditions. We have attached imaged of the structural damage, interior stains (permanent) and there was also a significant amount of rust on the undercarriage which compromises the structural integrity of the vehicle. The original offer was adjusted based upon the severity of the condition and the vehicle graded poorly (1.5 out of 5.0 possible). You chose not to accept the adjusted offer which we can appreciate, but your account of the transaction was not forthright.
Best of luck with the sale.

I am rejecting this response because:Yes I FINALLY have received my car which contained trash inside it such as drinking containers, etc. which is absolutely disgusting and ridiculous! And no delivering my car back to me when your company could not get the lot information and pickup times correct is NOT a courtesy as it was YOUR Responsibility to provide me with accurate information. So with the gas and time I wasted trying to get my car back it was owed, lets not kid ourselves. Also there is a big difference between accidents and damage reports, so why dont we tell the truth. My car has 2 MINOR accidents and 2 MINOR damage reports for which no work even needed to be done. You people lie and stretch the truth to fit YOUR agenda and take absolutely no responsibility or accountability for anything, its no way to run a business and probably why not that *** looked for them I see you have SO MANY bad reviews doing similar things to other people. As I stated a ***** dealership (notoriously known for lowballing) offered me 2x what you did WITH doing an in person inspection so yeah I definitely think you people are a bunch of crooks and will scam every ***** out of people you possibly can. FOR CLARIFICATION, I ONLY received my car back after being ignored and pushed aside for 2 weeks when I started threatening lawyers and police!! You should consider yourself lucky you returned MY PROPERTY because if I decided to sue I think we both know I would win with the absolute h*** you people have put me through!!!! You soulless corporate monsters will come up with any excuse possible as I stated to not take responsibility for YOUR s**** up!! So please lets not pretend like this wasnt a power play to get my car for 2x less than I know I could get for it and have been offered for it. Yall do this on purpose so people finally get fed up and just take your B.S offer. So I reject your response as YOUR account of the transaction was not forthright!!
Sincerely,
