This company contacted me 25+ times after my DUI saying that requirements had changed and I MAY be eligible for Ignition Interlock. I waited > 8 months to contact them, and when I did was told to pay $35 and they would schedule my interlock installation. It was scheduled 2 days later. I applied to PADOT for my interlock license only to discover almost 2 months later, that I am not even ELIGIBLE for another 6 months! I have paid them > than $500 dollars, have been forced into additional services, >$75. Trying to speak with a live person is an exercise in futility! I've paid > than $600 for a service I was never even eligible for. They take advantage of folks at a vulnerable time in their lives for profit...and are practically unable to speak with. I have had nothing but problems with this company. I have paid them all of the money they asked/required me to pay. & they are refusing to give me my necessary DMV document that states I have completed my 1 year obligation to have the *** installed on my vehicle. First of all, their breathalyzer machines are faulty. They cause your car battery to drain & vehicle to malfunction & than charge you for it. (Not to mention the numerous trips to mechanic ************* I had to pay for the faulty machine causing my electrical system to bug out.) Secondly, there are random fees that they generate every month. $5 here, $20 there etc. Third, I have completed my 1 year state mandated obligation with them as of Oct. 27th. They are supposed to give you a certificate on the day of device removal from the vehicle. They did not do so. I have called countless times over and over again to get my certificate so I can turn it into DMV to get my license back in good standings & comply with all ****************** stated in my legal case/probation. It is now Dec. 15th, (nearly 2 months). I have called over and over again to see what's going on. All they keep saying is check back in ***** hours. I am stressed out because everyday I am at risk of getting in trouble with law enforcement. I'm pretty sure they won't Pay my legal ********** impound fees if I were to encounter such unfortunate events. If these individuals are doing this to me, I'm sure they are doing it to thousands if not millions of Americans across the country. Why are they allowed to run such a corrupt organization? Required from Hanover Twp and *** that I install an intoxalock in Vehicle. Contract started 11/18/2021 to 11/18.22. Contract ended November 18, 2022. Final calibration completed November 19, 2022. Called the following week of November 20 to check on complaince check and sending results to ***. Was told that complaince check was completed November 21 and results sent to *** on November 22. Called back again the next week because the removal email detailing questions and answers said it could take up to a week to complete calibration. Called back the week of Nov 27 and given the same info. Called on December 7 to inquire again, rep transferred me to Tier 2 support. Didn't tell me why. When the lady came on and I explained why I was calling, she started apologizing that my calibration had not been done. She in turn said she would start the process but would transfer me to a supervisor so she would be aware of what has been happening. Supervisor apologized and said to give it 48 hours. She would contact compliance to rush the data. Nothing all week. Called again on Dec 15 (today). Rep transferred me to Tier 2 support again. Was told the data was pending. After I told him Dec 19 would be a month and nothing yet. I asked to speak to a supervisor again and he told he it could take at least **** days-removal process states 1 week. All they are doing is prolonging process to charge the lease fee every 2 weeks. Poor customer service and ripping off clients. They billed me $40.51 every 2 weeks plus $3.20 processing fee. Since my contact has ended and they have not done what they are suppose to do, they are still charging me (12/1/22 and 12/15/22 of $40.51 plus $3.20. No one, not even the *** or the municipality is concerned about this.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: My final calibration was November 19, 2021. According to the removal email that was sent to me detailing the process, everything should have be completed within 5 days. I was billed December 1, December 15 and December 29. They only waived $40.51 for December 29, but the removal process took place December 20. Why was I billed for December 29. I should not have been billed for December 1 nor December 15. Intoxalock should have scheduled my compliance check and sent info within 5 days according to their removal process. That being said I should not have had to pay 2 additional $40.51 (December 1 and December 15) due to their timing to delay the process and being giving incorrect information every time I called. Shame on them.

Called intoxalock in may for a portable device, instead was given a home device. When contacted about the mistake, as I needed the portable device for my work schedule, I was told that I would just have to deal with it, and that the home device was portable, even though the instructions for it specifically state that it should be left plugged in. Now that I no longer need the device I am being charged a $64.** fee to close my account. I asked multiple times how they can justify charging such a fee to just close an account. Was told mutliple times that they don't owe me an explanation, and I would just have to pay it. Charing someone to just close an account when device has been returned doesn't make any sense.Business Response

On September ************************************************************ my car by a certified technician contracted by Intoxalock. I took my car to the location and left it there with the tech. After about 5 hours I called to get an eta on when he would be done so I can pick up my car but he said he was having some issues with the install and was doing some troubleshooting so its taking a bit longer than expected and he would call me as soon as he had an update for me. After almost ******************************************************* and said he wasnt able to install it Because apparently there was an issue with the device that they received and that Intoxalock was going to overnight another one tomorrow and that I could pick my car up and bring it back tomorrow. So I picked up and I tried and tried desperately that same evening to contact someone in customer service to figure out what was going on but apparently somehow in their system it was showing that the installation was complete and I was already registered as an active account. Even though the device was never installed and no one could resolve the issue after being transferred 4 times and hung up on twice I gave up and decided I did not want to deal with this nightmare of a company and I did not take my car back. Fast forward to a October a light on my car saying engine malfunction came on and I took it to the dealership to get diagnosed and they said someone messed with the wires under the brakes and ended up cutting and trying to tape back together the wires. Only person who has touched my car was this company. I have tried reach out to them with hopes of resolving this, and every last person I speak with is sooo rude and unhelpful! Not only are they saying I owe $80 for a service I never received! They have not refunded me nor are they trying to fix the damage they did to my car! (Customer ID # ********Business Response

Typically for any sort of damages that *** have been cause by an install Intoxalock recommends that the customer reaches out to the service center that did the install to see if there is any resolution they can provide. If the service center is unwilling to work with the customer ********************** can send out a damage claims form and start the process on our end to get reimbursement to the customer for the vehicle damages.

Had service (device) removed and continue to receive automatic withdrawals biweekly for roadside assistance. Intoxalock charged me termination and removal fees to end lease and I sold the vehicle. Contacted company by phone and email to stop these withdrawals. Its not a great deal of money, its the principal. I dont even have anyway of using roadside assistance service since I dont even have access to Intoxalock app because my account is closed. I would never use or recommend this company. I contacted my bank and disputed charges twice, both times the charges were reversed. Something isnt right here.Business Response

In October the device I lease drained my car battery and I had to have it towed to a garage and serviced cost me $250. The problem ended up being that the device was draining my battery and I had to buy another battery and have another device installed..another $150 plus the cost of an Uber for transportation another $50. The company reimbursed me for the towing but nothing else. So I'm still waiting for the other refund of $250.. **************** doesn't have any answers for me when I call I just keep getting the run around.Business Response

SCAM COMPANY BEWARE! Device put on Sept 22, 2022. On Oct. 7,2022 device drained my year-old battery. It took 3 days and numerous hours on hold waiting for customer rep for them to get a tow truck to me, Intoxalock said they would reimburse me for tow and battery. ($375. for battery, $75. for tow.) Instead, they charged me for not calling in a service call (which I did) and never reimbursed me. I continually have problems with the mouthpiece falling off and having to blow a gazillion times to get the car started. Even with new pieces. On November 8, 2022, brought car in for calibration and the device read "return device for Maintenace." There were FOUR other people who had the same readout in the service **** that day. The service company didn't have replacements for us. I called Intoxalock and spent 2 hours on the phone with them trying to find a mobile company to replace it. They couldn't. They tried to get a tow company and weren't successful. The rep told me to try and find a tow company on my own and would reimburse me. (cost me $200) to bring car to my residence and they would mail me a new device. I waited 5 DAYS for the device. I was denied the reimbursement, for no reason, and charged these ridiculous unexplained fees. This company is a scam! You can't speak with anyone but the reps who are trained to say "sorry, you don't QUALIFY to speak to a supervisor and do nothing but give you a runaround rehearsed speech. I want my money for the tows and battery and ALL the fees off my account. I'm all about paying for what I signed up for but will not be taken advantage of. It's been an emotional nightmare. To get my iid device installed they were able to send everything out in a day when the time came for the removal the customer representative attempted to give me the run around and delay my removal date 5 days stating they no longer are able to expedite shipping. I asked for a supervisor and the supervisor said they could for an additional $40. If I dont expedite it Im accruing more charges and if I do I have to pay additional charges. The deceitful ways in which they get more money in anyway they can is unacceptable and unprofessional and a crime. If these such changes were made by the company why arent their customers notified to plan accordingly. If they are made up changes why are those lying to customers and causing undue harm and stress still employed by the company? It shouldnt be a debate or negotiation to get it removed with no additional cost. This device has caused so much headache with Intoxalock device draining the car battery. you have had to charge their car battery after one day of sitting, or for some hours after sitting, even after replacing the battery with a brand new one. I got a violation with "tampering circumventing" the device, resulting in a revocation of my restricted driver's licensecuz their device keeps causing my new battery to die, and when I went to charge the battery or "jump-start" it,I got charged with "Tampering." This is horrible! I had to file another appeal to reinstate my driver's license, but it goes on the my driving record as a revocation, not to mention the financial hardship, There is a lot that goes into preparing for an administrative appeal with the *** or Secretary of State to reverse the decision. This should be illegal and we need to bring this to Congress to change the way that these devices are allowed to operate.I am right now again in this same situation I am recovering from surgery and not even hardly driving so I have to go out and remember to start my car every couple days and I have a new battery and I got the more expensive one and my device has been acting up and I have reported it and they want to do a diagnosis on it and if it dont error that one time chrge me 300 dollars but so I went out to start my car and not only was battery low and had to charge car but no power to car or device at all. never even with my old bad battery have I ever had no power but I did have to charge it all the time cuz of the device sucking the power so I got a violation and am awaitng a hearing while I was sitting on couch recovering from a major surgery and the car was driven twice that month and I was having to get up and go outside to start car just to make sure I didnt have this problem which was an inconvenience especially when I was in a ton of pain and than to get licenced taken and a violtion when doing everything Im supposed to. And today a friend took it to get calibrated and after all the way there and a few tests on way back it started saying blow harder or that message he had to pull over and tried about 8 times than called me and told me he was stuck he tried everything and was blowing as hard as he could and device kept saying too soft in the meantime unknowingly there was a missed retest somehow while pulled over and talking to me than he tried a few more times and than it still said too soft BUT car started and than it went back to normal and he just hardly had to blow just normal again and I got a violation and lockout and 3 hours on phone with intoxalock. This is last straw If I did something I will take the consequence but I am trying to get thru recovery and keep this device happy and its acting up and im getting repricussions for sitting at home and doing what Im supposed to. So not right and should be totally illegal. One other thing they make it so hard to get it out once u get it in I was supposed to have it in for one year and it has been 5 because once u complete your one year which I was unaware of when u go to get it out u have to do all the same things and I have started the process a couple times and each time I end ** in hospital with surgery never fails I have had 6 surgeries in 5 years so that puts me past the 90 days and than Im recovering and than have to go out and try to remember to start my car so I dont get a violation and than I have to start the process of getting new letters again and its a revolving door. It's been almost impossible for me to get it all done I have it all but not within timeframe and I have never had a drinking violation and any violation was their device malfunction which I have many times complained of since I am paying the price for their computer device defaults but they do nothing.Business Response
