      I am a delivery customer. The delivery people are always great. The link provided by the store, so customers can respond to order pullers, never works. Consequently, one often gets substitutes that aren't wanted, even though you clearly indicated on the original order request that you did not want to substitute. This last time, yesterday, I called the store and asked firmly but nicely to not substitute the items and that the link wasn't working between the person servicing my order and myself. The supervisor was short with me but said they would comply. I don't receive a printed receipt from the store, that stopped more than a year ago (I order once or twice a month). I usally get the receipt via email before the order is delivered. This time, I was notified with the text that delivery was on the way, that my receipt would be sent after delivery. When I received my order, and finally my emailed receipt, I noted that 4 items were missing from the delivery. I called the store back up for a refund, and to talk to the delivery supervisor, a different person this time, and was told to bring a written receipt to the store and get a refund. I explained that I never get a printed receipt (they should already know that) and was told to come in and bring the phone so they could view the receipt. I am handicapped and rely on paratransit bus to get around, I have to schedule rides in advance. I can't use **** because the drivers do not like helping me fold my ******, so I just cannot get to the store, even though they clearly owe me $12+

      I want into Safeway to return some items i had just bought a couple days prior. As my return is being done we were rudely interrupted by a manager who claimed I just came into that store went and collected the items and then proceeded to checkout for a refund. So in which now says he is calling the police. I advised him that I will handle this situation later being that I was in a rush to prepare for a funeral. So I left with intension to handle that situation later. No sooner than I leave I am pulled over by 2-3 police cars. They got my side of the story along with my 4,5 hundred dollar CASH receipt while im stretched out they have another belmont officer at Safeway reviewing camera footage which plainly shows me walking in and straight to cashier to do my return. Nit only did I have my receipt the items I was returning were not open or anything. As outrageous as that accusation was not only did he embarrass me by having belmont police pull me over like stole something from him that was just straight up discrimination, unlawful accusation, racial profiling at its finest might I add. That was the most horrible encounter I have had with a store manager who probly was a lot younger than me in age than I've ever had in my life. I will not let that go unnoticed. Not sure if it was the dreds in my head, the jewelry I had on or just the comfortable sweats I was wearing that probly cost more than his weekly paycheck. But it was wrong and it was truly a hateful act for that reason I am leaving this review so everyone will know how judgment of character can turn into a situation quick and how the people of ******* look at others that believe me when I say this are just as rich as them but in they eyes people like me are a disgrace. With that being said I am filing discrimination defamation of character and racial profiling against Belmont Safeway on El Camino and *******

      I visit the Safeway in ************* 2020 market st weekly the lines are always long and they give terrible customer service. The manager ****** humiliated me today. This is not my first bad experience with her shes short tempered and rude also. I wont be shopping at Safeway anymore. Usually Im in there 3 times a week spending no less than $60

      I have groceries delivered for my mother once or twice a month, with other stores if items were missing or received the wrong brand it has never been an issue. On June ****** Safeway messed up so I went to mark what items were missing and what were the wrong brand. Two days later I received an email from Safeway saying, my "request" for a refund was denied!! News flash Safeway it's NOT a request. You either refund the money or send someone back out with the right items. I'm not buying the 5-7 days or any other excuse because I've called customer service everyday and while I'm on hold I get hung up on or their darling of a representative can't seem to make it to the phone. Instead of DEI training you should start on customer service. It's adorable that you actually think it's a request. I've been in the restaurant business for over 25 years and if I called my customer a liar, which is what you did, it would have been alot kess then 25 years.

      New digital coupons are a scam. They are difficult and time consuming to access and figure out. They are not equitable for everyone. Food prices should be equal to all. I am having to pay more when I shop at Safeway. The old club card system automatically applied the coupons. The store clerks make you feel like an idiot and the system makes shopping more time consuming and frustrating. They are also not fair for those without smart phones.

      On May 30, 2025 I went out of my way at great inconvenience to take advantage of an advertised deal on bagels. When we got there, we were told that it was an error and not being honored. There was no attempt to offer a discount, raincheck or any other amendment to address the inconvenience. As of today, the ad still appears on their digital ad on their website.This is not the first time this has happened with this store. If its a good deal either they run out or its an error.

      The bakery employee **** ****** is a bad employee. He called me the n word multiple times and had an overall temper tantrum. He spat at me and in my food. He always had AirPods in and is saying weird things into them to what it sound like are his minor friends.

      I could not find a listing for the ******************************************, so am listing my issue here. I have repeatedly used the Safeway app to clip their digital coupons only to have them not be applied at checkout. I will not let them get away with this fraud and make the checker go through each item, showing them the clipped item and price on my phone. One visit this equated to over $48 that was over charged. Another $11. Today was over $16. The people waiting line behind me are not happy, but I am not going to let them get away with not giving the advertised price.

      Terrible! I signed up with Safeway's Freshpass and weekly scheduled delivery. Of four week's, only the first was delivered as promised. It's been a nightmare ever since. Numerous contacts with their customer support results only in unkept promises.

      Safeway offers good weekly deals through digital coupons on your phone but everytime without fail that I attempt to use these coupons there's endless drama. Today as I got in line I was behind another couple who got home last night and realized their coupons were not honored. I like to shop and go but that's not possible unless you are willing to pay more. In December they tried to charge me $98for a 9 pound ham that had a digital coupon for .69 cents a pound. Today I had coupons for 4 three pound packages of ground beef at $8.97 each and 4 one pound packages at $2.99 each. 2 Tillamook cheese with digital coupon $1.99 each and 2 lucerne sour cream members price $1.99 each. I was expecting a bills of under $56 but instead I stood for over ten minutes repeatedly showing them that their register was wrong. People behind me left leaving their groceries where they were. Stop cheating people. It's not worth the frustration of shopping in your store and finally the manager not knowing what to do about the fact that her register was charging me something that didn't add up , she tells me I'll just give it to you for the $55.80. Let me tell you this, they weren't giving me anything but a headache. I was paying for my groceries the price Safeway advertised.
