The Safeway at *************************************************************************************************** is terrible. They have a hard time opening their business at the posted time and they will not honor a posted price when they stock a whole shelf wrong. This business doesnt have good ethics and should be reported to weights and measurements.Review from Lataya S

1302 s 38th street cashier was Raul Let me start with I'm new to tacoma wa never have I ever been in this store let alone had rude customer service . I am a african American woman I punched 8 items. Raul did not say hi or speak to me he did not tell me my total or look st me when he handed me my recipt .but he sure did speak to the woman behind me and he told her his 91 year old grandpa died and acknowledged her she was white. I am contacting corporate for this stores racist employees and I'll make sure to write more reviews on this store after seeing 8 employees not doing their job 2 employees on the floor on the phone instead of helping customers it's like a free for all in the store what a disgrace. And their wouldn't be a now hiring problem if your employees would get off their phones and do their jobs . I won't return to the store . 0 starsReview from Cori H

FreshPass is a waste of money ! They list items they dont have and then substitute it for their own brand. They text you and say they will let you know if somethings out of stock but they dont. Theres no opportunity to cancel an order if they dont have your items. Twice instead of getting my order I received a bag with ONE of their branded items in it (and still charged for bag and drivers tip). This is nothing but BAIT and SWITCH. They have all these grocery items listed for sale on their website but they dont actually have them ! This has got to be illegal !Review from Amanda H

A couple of nights ago I went to Safeway with a $10 gift card I was given. I'm a big fan of the just for you up and the amazing sales you guys have every week so I was going to be able to get a good amount for the $10 and it was very excited because me and my fiance are going through a very hard time. When it came time to check out the sales didn't come off with my card number and neither did the coupons I had clicked on the app I tried to tell the cashier this and she rearranged one of the items and answered with this is the price do you want it or not. She had already begun conversating with a woman behind me I felt very embarrassed and belittled and when I tried to show her on my phone the sales price and coupons she got upset and continue talking with the woman behind her so I asked her politely to please just remove the items above $10. Her and the lady she was speaking with both started laughing and talking in Spanish. Which was humiliating. I ended up walking out of there with a box of crackers I paid $6 for instead of the $1.99 sale price and a couple dollar items when I should have walked out with good amount. I know that to get the prices corrected and the money put back on to my gift card I will have to go to the customer service with the receipt and my phone showing all the information which should be no problem but at the same time I have extreme anxiety about going to them for help because I do not feel like being looked at as an inconvenience or embarrassed like that again. I worked for Safeway several years back and customer service we were taught was supposed to be out main concern. All the Safeways I've been to in the past year actually I've had similar experiences with but mostly with the security who more than once came at me with what could only be labeled as sexual harassment. I love Safeway and hope they get employees that represent them betterReview from Kathy T

Not only do you have to waste your time clipping coupons online but half the time you can't even do that because their website is down. I've encountered problems 3 times in a short while. The last was just yesterday and today. I tried to log in, it wouldn't let me. I knew my password was right but changed it anyway thinking that might help. It said it went through but I still couldn't log in. Tried it again, no go. I called "customer service" and got someone who was very nice but I could barely understand a word he said. He tried a few things with no luck including sending a link to change the password from his end, and it didn't work. In the end he agreed the problem was not with me, and said he would send a report to the IT people. This morning I tried again and got a message saying they were having technical difficulties. Tried again tonight thinking it must be fixed by now. Nope. This same thing happened last time. If Safeway is going to force you to waste your time clipping coupons to save a buck or two, they need to get their page fixed and keep it fixed. Better yet stop forcing people to go through this c*** just to get your price. If you're going to give a discount, give it to everyone.I'll be doing all the shopping I can now at the locally owned store, it may cost a little more but in the end the frustration will be gone and I'll be a happier shopper.Review from Alexander C

I was fed raw chicken that was fried from the deli department. It was not cooked at all and I have various images. I ate some and felt sick and had to take a day off work. I went back to return the chicken and was told I would be contacted and I was greeted by ************************* who was very rude and did not even apologize. They denied the claim because I did not go to a doctor was her explanation. I got a letter in the mail saying my claim was denied because the chicken was not raw. They lied to me over the phone and did not submit the claim correctly. DO NOT EAT AT ANY VONS AS THIS WAS NOT THE 1st time is what the employees said.Review from April M

Being disabled and unable to drive, the closest grocery store to my home with delivery service is Safeway. I am a regular shopper there, and have been for the past five years. Last year, I decided to try the fresh pass and use their delivery services. From the very first order, and I believe I ordered from them probably half dozen times. I have not had one delivery without an issue, (i.e.,bad produce, moldy bread, incorrect items, and freezer burned items). Ive received slimy bad smelling bagged stirfry vegetables, a package of hotdog buns that were coated in green mold, freezer burned beef ravioli ( the package was blown up like a football) and dented cans. Just about each and every time, I complete the quality rating at the end of my delivery and I email the company, yet all I ever get in response is that I have been refunded my money. The money is not the issue, its the fact that I cannot get fresh items from. a grocery delivery service. I paid $14/month for a service that was horrible. Theres been no accountability from Safeway. My last order had a head of green cabbage, when I ordered head of iceberg lettuce! The crappy part about all of this is that I dont get the items I wanted, I get is my money back, and I cannot drive to pick up the items Safeway messed up on. I wonder if Safeway realizes they have disabled customers who use their delivery service out of convenience for not being able to drive. I feel like Safeway doesnt care one bit about its customers satisfaction, nor does it believe in delivering quality items. Ive contacted Safeway a few times and have been told a district manager will contact me immediately, but that was months ago and no one has contacted me yet. If you are reading this review, I hope you stay far far away from Safeway delivery service.Review from Pamela P

I had a recent problem with a delivery I was supposed to get between 7-9 pm. On Jan.3rd. 5 after 9 I get a message saying it can't be delivered. Now my delivery was free because this was my first time using the service. Also ***** off my 1st time use. Well it said I could still get a delivery on Saturday the next day, just pick a new time which by the way it was a **** charge. The whole reason to do the delivery was to get ***** off and free delivery so of course I am beyond frustrated at this point. Any time I picked it kept saying error so I called customer service and talked with ***** and he got my money put back on my card on Monday today the 8th. I will NEVER attempt to use delivery from Safeway again.I will stick with Amazon fresh for delivery. I will still shop at Safeway still. It's a shame their delivery is so horrible! ***** is an asset!Review from Justin H

I was leaving the Safeway in **** yesterday afternoon. I paused briefly to look at my receipt to see if I received all the discounts (it was wrong again but that is a whole other story). Frustrated, I shoved the receipt back into my bag. A young lady named "Kimber" working near the front suddenly yelled "I SAW THAT!! WHAT DID YOU JUST PUT IN YOUR BAG?!? SHOW ME!" All the customers (during Christmas rush so it was super crowded) turned and stared. One person started recording on her phone. I was humiliated and had to go see the manager with her. Once we got to the see the manager, ****** blatantly lies and denies ever accusing me of stealing!! The manager, ****** was not helpful and sent ****** on her way without repercussion. The Store Manager, ************, took me outside and stated that he can understand that I am upset and that he would be as well if it happened to him. He then says that he would offer me a gift card or something to compensate but I told him I don't want monetary compensation, I just want ****** to be disciplined. He then says "I would understand if you never wanted to come back, wouldn't blame ya!" Wow, this is the Store Manager?!? I will never step foot in this Safeway ever again and will tell everyone I know that this store is atrocious.Review from AA S

I had an embarrassing moment at the pharmacy recently, I was ask to say out loud where I would place the cream and how many times a day, in front of the three other people around me, Im pretty sure this is a HIPAA violation. The woman who checked me out , she my insurance wont pay unless I said it verbally. My ******, twice a day. I have a yeast infection. There was a male pharmacist, and male behind me waiting, and another male to my side, and another lady near by. Our insurance companys have Waaayyy to much power!??. What else would I do with this anti itch cream? I asked , she said she just has to ask. So stupid, and embarrassing. I think blurting that out in front of the store is bullshit!!! Thats a private matter I feel I should have even taken around the corner behind the screen or something., where they give vaccines. Anywhere else.
