This is my second complaint on ******* a Cashier at Store 790 Dir *********************** Main *********************************************************************** On 05/18/2022 @ around 15:18 I came into this Safeway store to buy a sitter home 4 pack wine I got in ******* line because there was no one in his line. ******* scammed my wine I than again for the ***** time told ******* that I am non tax obligatory, ******* than got on the phone and called for a manager for approval but there was no manager available to assit because the manager was on his lunch than ******* asked another cashier who else was in charge right now and the cashier told ******* that he did not know. So ******* continue to hold up the line until a manager calls ******* back on the phone and ******* proceeded to tell him that I the lady is back again for the none tax on wine, the manager tell ******* to approve my status for the non tax obligatory ******* responds back and ask the manager oh its ok? I can doit? ******* than says alright than hang up the phone. Now there are still others in line as this is taking place so ******* than attempts to punch in the code but all of a sudden he acts like he doesnt remember the non tax obligatory code/ tax exempt code after that ******* than ask the cashier that has his on line going on if he can help him because he doesnt remember the tax exempt code as I stated above earlier that this is not my first run in with ******* about the non tax obligatory just about maybe two weeks ago ******* gave me the same problem but way worse about me being non tax obligatory two weeks ago he yelled at me and got in to a very unnecessary argument with me in front of other customers only because I told him that I am non tax obligatory he even refused to rang up my items I had two weeks ago and he told the manager to rang up my items because he wasnt serving me.******* has been discriminating against me because of my non tax obligatory status.

Last night I went to Safeway in Pleasant hill where I patiently waited with another women for 10 minutes for someone to come give us the alcohol behind the glass. One the store clerk/employee arrived she opened the case and handed the white lady her alcohol. The lady put it in her cart and pushed off. So now it's my turn I show the lady what I want she grabs it and holds it as if she was scared straight and said I have to walk it to the front. WAIT HEAR ME OUT I had no issues with her walking it to the front since items that are locked up are usually walked to the front my issue was why didnt you also walk hers to the front. The employee mentioned her item was only $20 (but it was still locked up) yours is over $20 so I cant hand it to you. Not only was I embarrassed, mad, shocked and hurt I felt like that was some racist s*** so I said to the lady I feel like this is some racist s*** you handed the white lady her alcohol and let her go on but here I am a African American and you are guarding my alcohol bottle with your life i asked to see the label and you wont even let me hold it to do that like im going to run with it. She continued to blame it on the price different $20 vs $40 however they were both locked up in the same cabinet so please make it makes since i am a weekly safeway shopper i pay for the freshpass and some safeway should be ashamed of the rules they have applied that was definitely some racist bull s*** I will no longer be doing buisness with safeway after this

My favorite memory of Safeway was the day a lady ran a stop sign, nearly hit me, I told her to slow down and to stop at Stop signs for the safety of the workers.......and then she calls the store, complains and I'M the one who gets in trouble, because my yelling at them may make them not want to return to shop there anymore.Customers/money > the lives of people who work there, according to Safeway. Absolute cesspool of ethics.

This ************ ******* says you pay 99 a year and you have free delivery - however, they charge an excessive amount for 'fees and taxes' for every delivery. I had a 91 dollar order and was charged ***** in 'taxes and fees'. Since we live in ******* with no sales tax - it's at least 17 percent for 'fees' - and this doesn't include the driver tip. This on top of dropped orders, orders not delivered - it's been terrible and I cannot even cancel my ******* now.DO NOT BUY - Instacart might be a little more expensive - but they don't play these kinds of games.
