On September 28, 2021 I was approved credit from Great American Finance towards a future furniture purchase through Ashley ********** In October 2021, we found the furniture we wanted to purchase yet when we went to make the purchase online the account number provided to us by ******************************************************************** would not work. Since they don't answer the phone during business hours, we went back and forth via email for several days until we could place our orders. Since we have placed our order, we continue to be charged for things we did not purchase in addition to not being able to access our online account in order to make our payments. When we were finally able to set up automatic payments (from their website issues) the monthly payment now somehow changes just enough for the automatic payment (that we do have set up) to not be enough to cover the full amount needed which is marking our payments late and we are subjected to more fees. We've asked several times for the account to be updated but nobody returns the emails and our account is still showing past due and for the incorrect balance. Today I went to go into the account again and now I am locked out of sending a message. This company is a complete joke and has tanked my credit score!Issues:- Wrong charges to our account - Credits issued are not credited to the account - Promotional plans for the account are wrong - One promotional plan is showing inactive - Automatic Payment for minimum payment is not covering the monthly payment (some system glitch of theirs)- Company does not return calls - Company does not answer the phone - Company does not return emails - Website has blocked messages from being sent from online account ACCURATE TRANSACTIONS:Purchase: 10/27/2021 $1303.79 (725006307249)Purchase: 10/27/2021 $301.79 (************)Purchase: 11/03/2021 $246.54 (725006347120)Refund: 11/18/2021 $49.99 (************)Refund: 11/18/2021 $251.80 (************)

This pertains to complaint #******** filed by ******************* with the Better Business Bureau. ******************* contracted with ************************** for the purchase of furniture. ************************** is an independent business that uses many different lenders for customer financing and is not contractually obligated to finance any of its business through any particular lender.

******************* submitted a credit application online via the ************************** website on September 26, 2021 to Great American Finance. Credit was reviewed, credit was approved and ******************* and ****** Furniture HomeStore received notification of the credit decision.

A line of credit was opened in the amount of $3,000.00. Multiple contracts were submitted for furniture purchased on October 27, 2021 and on November 3, 2021. The items were delivered by truck delivery service and ***** in November of 2021 and December of 2021. The total for all purchases was $2,554.64. The contracts provided 180 day and 360 day deferred interest promotions. The terms of the deferred interest promotion detailed on the contracts state as follows:

You are required to pay the Minimum Payment Due on your monthly billing statement each month, including during the promotional period. You must pay more than the MinimumPayment Due on your monthly billing statement during the promotional period in order to avoid interest charges. Paying only the Minimum Payment Due will not pay the Amount Advanced in full before the promotional period expires. If you are delinquent in paying any amount of a Minimum Payment Due during the promotional period or otherwise fail to meet your obligations under the Line of Credit Agreement during any promotional period, we may cancel the promotion, add any accrued interest to your outstanding balance at that time, and continue to charge interest on the balance pursuant to your Line of Credit Agreement.

The first payment was due on December 5, 2021. Payment was not remitted until January 7, 2022. Payments due in February and March of 2022 were also remitted late. Payment delinquency has voided one of the deferred interest promotions. The promotions were offered by **************************. Great American Finance honors the promotions, with the terms as written in the contracts.

The complaint stated that furniture was returned in the amount of $301.79. We have confirmed this with ************************** and have issued a credit in the amount of $301.79 to the line of credit. The adjustment to the balance will be reflected in the next monthly statement.

The Customer portal states I owe a balance when it has been paid off. I have complained numerous times, but they will not fix the inaccurate portal balance. They charge interest before it is owed. I have told them that is/should be illegal, but they will not fix it.

The contract provided a ************************************** effect through April 16, 2022. The promotion was offered by The RoomPlace and honored by Great American Finance.

Monthly payments in the amount of $274.00 have been remitted via automatic payment plan, voluntarily established by ********************************* in November of 2020 using her checking account. In January of 2022, ********************************* elected to revise her automatic monthly payments to $270.00, so that once her final payment is remitted, she will be entitled to a refund of $1.20,taking full advantage of the deferred interest promotion.

Final payment was remitted on April 11, 2022, completing the deferred interest promotion. The account is on hold for thirty days to allow sufficient time for final payment to clear. On May 11, 2022, should final payment clear, the account will be updated to paid in full and closed with a zero balance. The online portal will be updated at the same time. ********************************* will receive a letter confirming that her account has been paid in full and will also receive a refund check.

These people are clearly lying!  I FULLY REJECT this! Again, I only authorized a one time ACH through thier  system I never asked for them to make it an on going. I mail ALL of my checks directly to them every month which automatically deducts the amount from my available balance, therefore a return from my issuing is moot. My amount due every month has been in the amount of $160.00. I have made on time payments every month OVER the amount required. After looking at this companies reviews online it is VERY VERY clear this is a habit for them.  I have several addresses in 3 different states, people are allowed to have other addresses. I want my credit line back and my account back to what was initially agreed upon, or I'm going to stop paying altogether, and take this to court. I have all the documents PROVING they are lying.

On March 30, 2022, we received notification from the Better Business Bureau that they provided our response to *********************, who did not respond and closed out the complaint as satisfactorily answered. ********************* now filed a rebuttal on April 4, 2022. This is our response to the rebuttal.

********************* contracted with ************************** for the purchase of furniture. ************************** is an independent business that uses many different lenders for customer financing and is not contractually obligated to finance any of its business through any particular lender.

************************** submitted a credit application to Great American Finance Holdings, LLC on October 2, 2021, requesting a line of credit for financing. Credit was reviewed, credit was approved and ********************* and ****** Furniture HomeStore were informed of the credit decision.

A line of credit was opened and a contract was submitted on October 13, 2021 for a furniture purchase in the amount of $2,897.93, with minimum monthly payments of $144.90 beginning on November 4, 2021.

The contract provided a ************************************** effect through October 8, 2022.This a promotion and not a requirement of the contract. The contract requires minimum monthly payments, however in order to complete the promotion timely, payments must be remitted in excess of the monthly minimum. Six payments have been remitted on November 2, 2021 ($242.00),December 7, 2021 ($242.00), February 7, 2022 ($242.00), February 16, 2022 ($160.00), March 7, 2022 ($242.00) and April 4, 2022 ($95.60). The February 16,2022 payment in the amount of $160.00 was returned by the issuing bank (account ending in #****** account closed), which voided the promotion. A returned payment fee posted in the amount of $25.00 and no additional fees have posted to the account. As a courtesy to *********************, we issued a credit in the amount of $25.00 to his account, to reimburse him for the returned payment fee.

Payments remitted successfully to date total $1,063.60 and the next payment is due on May 4, 2022. The February 16, 2022 payment was remitted by telephone with customer service. The April 4, 2022 payment was remitted online via our website and does not satisfy the $144.90 minimum monthly payment requirement. Late payments, returned payments and payments less than the required minimum monthly payment all serve to void the promotion. All other payments were received via postal mail.

Complaint: ******** I am rejecting this response because: They sure absolutely lying! I have never authorized them to continue to deduct from my bank. I only authorized a one time payment as a courtesy, due to Great American Finance "losing" my check. As it is very plain to see I have remained an excellent customer including higher than my minimum xue bu almost $100.00 a month. I demand my account be reverted back to its original status all interest be refunded and my line of credit restored. If this is not done by my next due date I will immediately withold any future payments and proceed to file a lawsuit within my local jurisdiction.

I am writing this today due to the lack of available ways to contact this business. I've recently made a large purchase at a furniture store and Great American Finance is the company financing this purchase. When the agreement was made there was nothing showing what the payment amount would be or when I should begin paying. I've tried to logon to their site multiple times over several months and haven't been able to set up an account. When I call customer service I'm never able to speak with anyone and have to leave a voicemail which I never get a return call from. Then I get a **** in the mail for over $300. This is outrageous. At this point I'd like to return the furniture and stop all attempts at doing business with this company.

I am being charged interest during my interest free period. I have 6 months to pay off the loan until interest hits yet I've been charged over 270 dollars in interest already. According to my most recent statement I still owe 988 and change yet without the charged interest I should owe 719 and change.
