I've cancelled my account a million times, my account says it's cancelled and yet they keep trying to bill my card. I have multiple emails confirming my cancelation and that I won't be billed and they do it again and again. I'm gonna have to get a new bank card or keep my card locked. Packages of meat have often been arriving with meat juice leaking. It has happened to both beef and chicken packages. I have informed the Home Chef team, and all they do is refund me the purchase of the week and then claim that they are going to send the information to the department in charge to resolve the issue, and to pay back for the inconvenience. I repeatedly stated that it is not about convenience, but about food safety and handling especially since they ship food. It is falling on deaf ears. I am denied the opportunity to speak to anyone in charge of the department, or any contact information from anyone in the company. For this, I am greatly disappointed in a service that I have been enjoying. However, the first and foremost issue is food safety. I do not feel safe continuing to purchase meals from this company. I was disappointed with Home Chef- as I have been with other meal delivery services I have tried. This was my first box. The food arrived later than promised by over 4 hours making it too late in the day to cook for dinner. Once I got the box open, the ice had melted enough to soak the recipe cards- which were all wet and sticking to the point where one disintegrated and was not usable. I was concerned with the safety of the meats- as they had the ice on the bottom but not on the top. There were 2 ice packs present, but the box was dented on the bottom possibly causing the one on top of the protein to shift. Given it took over 48 hours to reach me from the time it was in the possession of the shipper (and who knows how long it was unrefrigerated before that) I had some food safety concerns with the ice melting so I am not going to eat any of the protein. Now I have to go to the store and buy fresh proteins. The packaging is incredibly wasteful as well and the service is overpriced even with the discounts offered for military/first responders. The cancellation process is confusing- it lets you "pause" the subscription- but in no place does it allow for cancellation. I made sure to cancel my billing agreement via PayPal to be sure I don't get billed again after reading all of these reviews. Honestly, I would say to just avoid ALL of these meal delivery services.Home Chef Response

I clicked a link to a promotion they offered, saying it would give 18 free meals and free dessert to your order. Being military I also added the extra 10% off they supposedly would apply to the order as it stated on the website. Once I paid and went to my menu it did not show either of those things. Instead I was charged and could not cancel. Total click bated and scammed and now Im stuck with the order even after I contacted customer service they said they could not cancel the first order so beware if you do start with them the first order is mandatory and cannot be canceled and the promotions are deceitful and they do not work.Home Chef Response

Their cancelation process is confusing and complicated. Cancelation should be just as easy as signing up. Especially when they have no way to look at a menu before signing up when you go to their website through an ad. Their tactics are deceiving and atrocious in my opinion.Home Chef Response

This company practices deceptive sales tactics! You look at their web site for menu items and before you know it, they charge you for an order you did not authorize!When I contacted **************** I was basically told "too bad, so sad" and they refused to issue a refund and are sending meals that we did not order nor do not want!Home Chef Response

Their customer service is absolutely atrocious. They refuse to cancel orders that they auto select for you. Even though I canceled within the window, they say that I have to cancel by 12:00 on Central time. I cancel a 10:40 in central time on a Friday and I'm not allowed to cancel. Mind you this is an order that I selected nothing of and food. I'm honestly not very interested in eating. It's extremely overpriced. I haven't yet had an order from them but I'm betting when they send it. It will be the wrong order because that's what a lot of the folks are saying here. Just avoid it. So much for contacting ***************** ************ from ********************** **************** emailed me today telling me maybe I should take a break from Home Chef. I was also sent instructions how to cancel my Home Chef subscription. All I want is for them to send me the recipe cards showing me how to cook this food. I guess I have to quit Home Chef. It seems they dont want me as a customer anymore because I contact them every time they forget to put 1, 2 or 3 missing recipe cards in with my weekly order. And this has happened almost weekly for the past few months. (I am being told they are not required to send me instruction sheets. But, I cant cook, and I dont want my phone close to where I cook, the words are too small to read easily, and the phone turns off all of the time, and I dont have a printer). I am dependent on these hard copy instruction sheets. (I had years of great service. But for the past few monthswow! Now they want me to quit their service just because I want them to send the recipe sheets with the expensive boxes of food they send me every week.Home Chef Response

Meals are not what I ordered. When asked online to substitute something. They sent me nothing instead of the substitute I asked for. Holy shit! Home Chef has alot of very bad reviews. The God's need to shut these people down before they kill someone!Home Chef Response
