My girlfriend and I recently bought a home and we hired windy city movers to move us into our home on may 18th 2023. Upon moving our furniture in and we started unpacking and taking off furniture blankets off from furniture we noticed that we have a lot of damage furnitures our tiles in the entrance was cracked lamps, boxspring, dressers draws side tables were broken and scratched up badly. We spoke to ** who is the manager he came out and said he would have gotten back to us on the Tuesday which he didn't so i call back he came out was very rude and wasn't intresting in replacing anything or try to work with us on resolving the issue. He said that they can give us $100 back fir all the damage and i ask him if he was serious looking at how expensive and the excellent condition of our furniture you wanted to give us $100 dollars? I then ask for them to replace our boxspring which is new and still didn't want to do so mr ******* and said he will pick up our boxspring to have the board replaced and i said to him how are you going to replace the board that broken he will fixed it i said no you need to buy us a new boxspring and they still refused to do so they haven't been answering our calls or even trying to replace it please help us resolve these issues with the furnitures and crcked tiles in our entry way please. Looking forward to hearing from you soon. And thanks in advance mr ** # is **********

We did move ***************** on May 18th.  After the move, our office was contacted regarding the damages.  *************** did go to their home to view the damages, discuss them, and try to resolve the matter.  Attached, please find a copy of the BL#***** for your records.  The customer signed off on the BL releasing the entire shipment to value not exceeding .30 per pound per article, which is standard Movers Liability for all moving companies moving within the State of ********.

After viewing the claimed damage articles, ** told them that the settlement would be $137.00 based on the weight of the shipment. Attached, please find the claim notes from **'s visit.  ** was informed that as long as the box spring was taken care of, they would be happy.  ** contacted ******************** in *******, and they would be able to repair the box spring to being brand new.  However, when ** ******* this information to the customer, she demanded that the box spring be newly replaced. She would not accept the box spring being repaired. Again, ** explained that the moving coverage is not replacement value coverage.  The box spring is a used household item.  Therefore, we are at a stand still.

The offer still stands that we can pick up the box spring and have it repaired for her, or if she would rather have the refund of $137.00 we will return the amount to her credit card...she just has to let us know.

Please have her call ** directly at #************ and he will finalize the claim for her based on her decision.
