Horrible bank they don't know how to Apply a payment to an account. They have rerouted their mail last year kept saying they didn't get my payment. Changed address I called they wouldn't give it to me I'm baffled. Pleaded for 2 hrs on phone with manager she finally gave in and gave me address. They accepted always payment from my bank through ******* on auto pay Sept 24 they kicked it back to my bank because they don't know me. *********. ******* won't deal with them now I have to mail payment to them. They kicked the 2 checks back to me didn't like the way they were written. I've never heard such nonsense these people are deliberately trying to gaslight me. It's going to be heard in court. And suing them for pain and suffering to the max.Review from Crystal B

The worst bank that there is. They are liars and crooks. After paying $45.00 for a skip a pay. Calling to confirm that my payment would not be coming out, assured that is would come out until the following month. It came out, over drafted my account. I want to hear the recorder conversation when she assured me that that wouldn't happen! Now I've paid $45 to be lied to, responsible for my over draft fees after being lied to!! Then it will take 48 hours to get the payment they charged me to not take- back into my account and then I still need to transfer it to my actual bank account. I will be contacting an attorney as this business is nothing but a group of crooks. See you in court CCU! Good luck!Review from Brandon G.

My automatic payment has been canceled on their end 4 times in the past year, to this most recent infraction the ** threatened taking alternative actions, up to and including repossession. After making a payment a few days later online, almost 3 weeks later they have my vehicle repossessed and don't even inform me (which is ok direct violation of state law). Then, the police happen to catch the repo vendor for careless driving at midnight, which is how I found out it was being repossessed at midnight. The repo company is required by state law to provide me with copies of paperwork in reference to their ability to possess the vehicle and what steps to take next. The ** took almost 48 hours after my multiple calls to get any information from them regarding the process for my ability to reclaim my own property, which was late on a Friday so I was unable to complete anything. Their restrictions created a scenario where I couldn't get the steps completed until the next Monday, at which point the auto recovery agency sold my vehicle to an auto auction company, yet again violating state law and according to the credit union u known to them - the ** was creating a release notice for the repo company, not the auction company, so they apparently weren't even keeping tabs on the property supposedly used as collateral for their own loan. On top of that, they weren't ensuring they nor their colleagues involved in the process were following state laws, and cost me an additional $1,000 besides my entire day wasted tracking down my vehicle from various groups the ** didn't know had possession of the vehicle, as well as my required day off from work to travel over 200 miles round trip to return my own property back to me. The auto auction center even admitted nearly 90% of all their repossessions from this ** were found to be in violation with state law, very crooked actions that led to the vehicle ending up at the auction site, and property missing by the time it arrived at auction.Review from Sam S

On April 15, 2024, at 12:38 PM *************************, a loan specialist from Consumer Credit Union, *******, sent me an email informing me that my loan application was approved. Then 6 hours later at 6:37 PM, she sent a second email telling me the loan was denied with no explanation. She wouldn't return my phone calls or emails a wall of silence. Why?? What's different about me that my loan would be denied after it was accepted. There's only one answer that makes sense to me. After the loan was approved, an underwriter realized that my 1947 DOB made me 77 years old. I hear the dialogue in the back office he's 77 and will be dead before the loan is paid back. Get rid of him? I don't know if age discrimination is illegal in the loan business but its certainly reprehensible. Senior Citizens (me for one) are being denied the right to credit by CCU because of their pending deaths.Review from Mark R

**************** is the worst. They don't communicate well at all. Told me I would have my title after the loan was paid and here I find out it will be hopefully mailed because of the state I am in since it is an electronic title. Thought they would know this and tell me. Before all this I went to make my last payment and they somehow put the funds into an account instead of on the loan. Told me it was paid off and I would receive my title in 4 to 6 weeks. Then I get a statement showing I have a balance left on the loan. Do not use this company. It will be a mistake. I could add more issue that I've experienced but I think you get the point.Review from Adriana G

Poor fraud protection. My debit card was stolen and used at a retailer over one thousand miles away. Consumers was unwilling to do anything to seek credit back. I cannot trust them with my debit card spending when they do not protect their customers from fraud nor take any steps to make their customer whole.Review from Carly M

I hate this bank. I literally have mental trauma from what they did to me and the psychological games they played with my head. Took ***** of my money that I needed and never gave it back then Pretended they didn't see it on their end. Lied over and over. Made me call in countless times to verify every transaction and if I made it and used psychological techniques to try and make me look crazy. They are horrible and why should I pay my bill after all the abuse I took? Are you going to pay my medical bills now? Shortly after all that I started getting stalked in person,, so god only knows what kind of shady people they work with. I hope they get shut down.Review from Juliea U

As a banking institution Consumers has been great but Cenlar is their mortgage service provider. To say they are a nightmare to deal with is an understatement. They charge fee's with out notification, they do not mail required commuincations. The service staff are generalist and you will be transferred multiple times with no answer. I am having to involve an attorney to work through my issues. I will be filing a formal complaint if my issues are not resolved in the next weekReview from Raul P

STAY AWAY FROM CONSUMERS CREDIT UNION!! BAD. BAD. BAD COSTUMER SERVICE. NEGATIVE STARS IF I COULD. I contested fraud charges on my **** in June 2023 and they credited my account in full except for the interest and late fee charges against that balance. How can you charge a finance charge to what is supposed to be a zero balance?? So now they are threatening to take me to collections for not paying on my account that I had closed due to incompetence on their part. They are masters at giving you the runaround. STAY AWAY!!
