I am making a complaint against RockyTop Inc, **** ******* and his subcontractor ******* ******* *** ************, ****** ******. RockyTop Inc and **** ******* was hired to re-shingle my roof on my house. They did not meet their contractual obligations and have not finished all goods and/or services. That installation, repairs and alterations or improvements have not been completed as set forth in our contract, they violated the Manufacturer’s Specifications and Building Codes, provided faulty construction and materials, and his crew and subcontractor caused damage and potential extensive damage to my house and refused to make it right, demanding payment in full Herewithin, this document and others it is my opinion that RockyTop Inc, **** ******* and his subcontractor ******* ******* *** ************, ****** ******** workmanship does not meet the industry standard of quality or meet the manufacturer’s specifications and building codes and they don’t care. I have many pictures showing my concern. After the installation I notified **** ******* about my concerns with pictures of the known manufacturer’s specifications and building codes being violated, the sub-par workmanship, warranty’s, damages, not abiding by the contract, and many unauthorized change orders (including hiring a subcontractor ******* ******* *** ************ to reshingle my roof without my permission. I didn’t find out until after the roof was reshingled). On 2 different occasions, I gave **** ******* and his subcontractor a chance to make it right. They continued to violate the manufacturer’s specifications and building codes and refused to repair all the damages and created more damages, that they refused to repair. On 1-13-2023, **** ******* & ****** ****** was given one more change to make it right. Unfortunately They were unwilling and/or unable to provide that service and are still demanding payment in full. I am rejecting this response because: This all could have been avoided if RockyTop Inc, **** *******, his crew and his subcontractor ******* ******* *** ************ ****** ****** had abided by the contract and followed the manufacturer’s specifications and building codes and not have caused damages to my house. **** ******* refused to fix all the damages they caused to my house. **** ******* refused to bring the manufacturer’s specifications and building codes up to par. **** ******* was given several chances to make things right and was unable and unwilling to provide that service.
An appointment was set up on 1-13-2023, so **** *******, ****** ****** and an IKO Warranty Representative could come out and inspect my house. I find it ironic that even though at this last appearance **** ******* and ****** ****** states that “their workmanship meets the industry standards and all the manufacturer’s specifications and building codes”; **** *******, ****** ****** and the IKO Shingle Sales Representative all refused to get on a ladder and do an inspection of their workmanship, to prove me otherwise.
**** *******, who is twice my size, is the one who threatened me on several occasions saying he would hire an attorney and was going to make me pay for it, because I would not give in to his nonsense and shoddy workmanship, demanding he make things right! And if ***** feels threatened because we did not come to an agreement it is within my right to threaten to involve the Better Business Bureau, the Attorney General’s Office, and the Illinois Roofers Licensing Board, IKO and/or Court to help aid me in solving this situation, then so be it… It is no one’s fault but his own for Breaching the Contract and not making it right!
And if *****, this threatened man, who took $4,210.00 of my hard earned money, was so threatened that he demanded another $4,210.00 of my hard earned money, for a botched up job that was not completed according to the contract, manufacturer’s specifications and building codes, is offended by a few cuss words from an old lady, then too bad… he should of thought twice before taking advantage of me, damaging my house and taking my hard earned money!! Dear BBB: If there is nothing else you can do to help resolve this matter, then thank you, I appreciate your time and effort. I will send follow-up documents in regard to this complaint. Unfortunately at this time, our responses are limited due to litigation. RockyTop did go back and fix issues after completion. Photos received from ******* are before RockyTop going out twice. RockyTop did fulfill the signed contract. RockyTop had an IKO representative out, and made it clear that the roof is covered under warranty. Please reach out if you need something further. We can also submit Attorney General forms as well as IDFPR if needed. Thank you
