      This company does not stand by their products enough to even honor their own warranty. I purchased a Bilana chair (made by Best Home Furnishings) in March 14, 2023 from *** *** ****, before it was public information that *** *** **** would be going out of business. I received the chair from *** *** **** on April 10, 2023. The chair is supposed to have a 1 year warranty. Less than a year later, in March of 2024, I reached out to Best Home Furnishings directly because the base of the chair had broken and *** *** **** is now out of business. I provided the Product ID number and photos they requested, and I got a response saying that the Product ID indicated a manufacture date of May 2022, which put the item out of warranty. I stated that I had only received the chair in April of 2023, and it was not my fault that I had received a chair that had been manufactured almost a year prior, and I could not have possibly known that the chair would only have a one-month warranty under that logic. The representative responded that they have no control over how the retailers they work with treat the product in their warehouses and something could have happened to it while it was at the warehouse. This chair is still less than 2 years old and has been broken for a while now. One representative I spoke with did tell me she would try to get approval for a new base to be shipped to me under the circumstances, but then when I didn't hear back for 2 weeks, I followed up and she told me she couldn't get approval because it was out of warranty, and suggested trying to buy a new base from a dealer. I am very disappointed with this outcome. This was the second Bilana/BHF chair I had purchased (meaning I have spent over $1000 on their products), but apparently that means nothing to this company. I will not purchase anything from this company in the future.

      Since the dealer is no longer in business, we are searching for a Best Home Furnishings retailer near the customer that will accept delivery of a complete base to replace the damaged base on the customer’s recliner.


      We will ship it to them at no charge to the customer. It will be the customer’s responsibility to pick it up and make the repair. 
      The dealer or Best Home Furnishings will contact the customer when the base is available for pickup.

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. However, if for some reason the new base does not fix the chair (ie, the problem is something other than the base), I would want to remain in contact with BHF until the problem is diagnosed and remedied. It is also worth noting (since my response will probably be public) that it seems BHF is only attempting to remedy this issue because I filed an official complaint through the BBB.  When I tried to reach out independently before filing the claim, I was told the request was denied.

      I bought the sofa on 11/12/21. On or around January 2022 I noticed the left side frame was buckling. A piece of the frame came through the leather. I have used books to hold up the left side of my sofa since that time. I contacted the retailer and they came out, looked at the sofa. The retailer presented the information to the Best Furniture salesman and were told the damage was caused by abuse and not covered by the limited lifetime warranty. My husband and I weigh less than 210 pounds each. The sofa is rarely used, only by family at holidays in a monitored area. There is no evidence to substantiate abuse. How can a well-made sofa break after 1-2 years of minimal usage? During Christmas of 2023, the frame started coming apart in the middle of the sofa. We noticed this after having 2-3 people sit on the couch (small in stature). The sofa now creaks when a person sits on it. I would like a repaired or replaced sofa.

      Best Home Furnishings has discussed the customer’s complaint with the dealer, Bob’s TV & Home Furnishings, and they informed the customer on January 10, 2023, the frame issue with their stationary sofa was due to hard use or misused by the occupant(s). The dealer or Best Home Furnishings did not receive any further correspondence on the customer’s concern until December 28, 2023. 


      Best Home Furnishings and the dealer feel that if the customer did not agree with the decision, they would have contacted Best Home Furnishings, the dealer, or the Better Business Bureau immediately and not wait over eleven months to revisit the complaint.


      The warranty does not cover neglect, misuse, or abuse. Therefore, we regret that we are unable to offer any assistance regarding this matter.

      Attached are Facebook Messenger messages with ***** ***  On 1/12/23 they (and I) were waiting on information from the Best Furniture salesman.  On 1/24/23, ***** ** noted they were still waiting on the salesman to provide information about the sofa. 

      I contacted the store on 8/31/23 asking for an update. 

      I have made contact about the frustration with the sofa. Fortunately I don’t have much experience with faulty furniture/equipment and was not aware there was a timeframe in which to report a concern. I don’t see a timeframe identified on the warranty. I thought the manufacturer would live up to the warranty as there is NO evidence I’ve abused the sofa.  I believe the issue was faulty craftsmanship

      I purchased a leather couch made by Best Home Furnishings in 2014. In 2020, I contacted them with a complaint that the leather was peeling and disintegrating. I sent them pictures, so that they would know exactly what I was talking about. I have copies of that correspondence. They said there was nothing they could do, because it was out of warranty. However, after talking to many people, the expectation on the durability of a leather couch is years, if not decades. So I decided to contact the company once again, 9/2023 thinking that maybe they have had other complaints and devised a solution. Their response was the same, that they "have no recourse or options to offer you on getting the unit repaired." We like the couch and for the most part the leather is fine, however on the cushion piping, and side panels the "leather" is chipping off in little pieces. They also said that their warranty was against manufacturing defects, which I believe this to be, since the manufacture choose to use an inferior product which did not compliment the quality of the couch. I have attached pictures in which you can clearly see that the seat of the cushion is not wearing, only the trim. The arms of the sofa are not wearing, only the fabric below. I still have my receipt ordered on 3/1/2014 at Best Home Furnishing, ** ** **** *** *********, IN *****. This store is no longer in business.       I have reviewed the complaint regarding the cover material on the sofa.  The unit was built 3-12-2014, so it is beyond the 18-month warranty period. 

      Best Home Furnishings has no control over the product or usage after it leaves our manufacturing facility. 

      Fabric and leather covers do not last forever even under the best of conditions, and applications of protective coatings, heavy usage, humidity, pets, cigar or cigarette smoke, sun block, hair spray, medications (chemotherapy, blood pressure, and heart), and/or placement in extremely sunny areas can cause these materials to degrade more quickly.  For these reasons, we, like other manufacturers, must place certain reasonable limitations on our warranty.  The warranty does not cover normal wear.

      Our fabric warranty states in relevant part:  BEST HOME FURNISHINGS products feature a one (1) year warranty from the date of purchase, NOT to exceed eighteen (18) months from the date of manufacture, for seam slippage and/or separation.  Surface wear due to use or abuse is not warranted.  Our cover suppliers recommend NO type of protective coating be applied to any fabric or other cover material used on any BEST HOME FURNISHINGS furniture and any protective coating used will void this warranty. Flattening of the nap, pilling, shedding, balling, snagging, matting, and shading are all common characteristics of some fabrics and are not considered defects in material or workmanship.
      Therefore, we regret that we are unable to assist the customer regarding this matter.

      Very disappointed that this material is not holding up to the standards we expected. The chairs have not been abused, children hardly ever use them, food is not consumed on them. We have not applied protective coatings. For what we paid, we did not expect wear and tear to show this soon.

      I placed an order on November 23, 2022 for Best Chairs Bilana Swivel Glider Recliner in Birch Champagne from Buy Buy Baby. We were given an estimated delivery window of 1/6/23-1/18/23. We have received a notice from Buy Buy Baby that the order has been delayed, but no reason was provided. After speaking with Buy Buy Baby customer service via chat, we found out the the order had not yet been shipped by the manufacturer, BEST CHAIRS INC. (phone: XXX-XXX-XXXX). When calling the number, it appears as though the business name is now BEST HOME FURNISHINGS. After a few google searches, I've found numerous complaints of this company being unable to deliver orders. This particular order is for a glider chair that is to be used in our nursery for our baby who is due in April 2023. We are now beginning to worry that the chair will not be here before the baby is, and would simply like answers. Please help!

      Purchased 2 loveseats from local furniture store ************ that have since gone out of business. Currently having issue with mechanism on 1 of these are after contacting Best Home Furnishings, was told they don't deal with customer directly. Explained store has gone out of business and was told to try another distributor. We have contacted several in our area and none can help. After calling back to Best we were told loveseats were over 7 years old and therefore parts not available. When we purchased we were told recliner mechanisms have a lifetime warranty. Guess 7 years is their idea of lifetime but not mine. I now have a loveseat that has one side that is extremely difficult to put down and no way to have this fixed. Copy of ID tag uploaded to this.

      We purchased a Signature Series Leather Recliner for $787.00 with tax and delivery was $944.70 on 1/20/20. From 5/17 -6/6/22 I contacted Best Home Furnishings product support via phone and had correspondence with **** **** through multiple emails. My complaint is the condition of the "leather" on a recliner chair after two years of use in what is essentially a two person household. I understood the chair was a combination of leather and perfect color match vinyl. The areas that are vinyl have peeled so significantly to reveal gray fabric underneath in several areas of the chair. The 18 month warranty had already expired. Please note the condition of the chair did not suddenly occur when I sent my initial email at our 25 month mark of ownership. At 25 months the condition was poor and continues to deteriorate today. The "leather" on this chair was supposed to be on all areas where the body touches, however you can see from the pictures I included, where your fingers might touch or your legs is also awful. The chair looks terrible and I doubt anyone associated with the manufacturing of this chair would like it in their living room as representation of their product. ****'s response was to contact the store where purchased and the chair is out of warranty. Please note I contacted the store Home Living Furniture in ******* NJ during this time via phone and ongoing emails. After viewing my photos the store contacted Best Home Furnishings but the company was adamant that this is not a manufacturer issue and my cleaning agent caused this (which is ridiculous.) HLF offered a tiny refund for the product but they have not responded to me since early July saying they were awaiting further response from BHF. Any customers considering a "leather" product by BHF should NOT buy. A default to a warranty limit is disgusting. As a customer it is 100% reasonable to expect a $900 chair to last longer than 18 months....or 25 months.

Ironically prior to purchase when researching use of vinyl on furniture the pros were longevity and ease of cleaning. Having owned "faux" leather products it is my experience these fabrics are virtually indestructible so at the time of purchase I was unconcerned about the vinyl element. To BHF's point there was no protective coating (or cleaner) applied once the chair arrived in our home. Perhaps a faulty protective coating was applied by the manufacturer when constructed. I see almost identical complaints from BHF customers on the BBB website which makes it clear this is not an isolated case. Lastly, there has been a separation in material in that the wine colored part of the vinyl has definitely separated from the fabric it was adhered to as shown in the photographs attached to my initial complaint here. The company's response and lack of any accountability here is unacceptable.       I bought a Bilana Swivel Rocker chair from Buy Buy Baby on May 5th, originally scheduled to be delivered on June 15-30. It has been delayed three times now, I'm told this is because of the manufacturer, Best Home Furnishings. I have no faith that this new delivery "estimate" of September 15-30 will be followed, either. It has been impossible to contact them, because their only contact method on the website is a form, https://www.besthf.com/besthf/Furniture/Contact-Us and it requires a product ID, which I obviouisly don't have because I don't have the product. This company has 70 complaints with the BBB, and I'm happy to add one more. I just want my chair, which was purchased BEFORE our baby was born, to be mother's comfortable nursing chair, to be delivered around his birthday of June 22, 2022. He is now 5 weeks old, and I suspect that he won't get this chair until he graduates high school. Buy Buy Baby says that I can not cancel this order, either, since it is already ordered for manufacture. I just wan this chair for my wife to be able to nurse comfortably. Buy Buy Baby order (and updated "estimate" of delivery attached. Am also filing compaint against them.

      purchased a recliner on August 11, 2021 from Discount Furnitue World, **** ** ****** Street, ********** NC XXXXX. The reclinder turned out to be defective. Within a three week period of time from the delivery date, I called on several occasions to get a response to my problems. It took several weeks before someone from the store came to my home to do so called REPAIR the defect. The recliner did not recline and did not have adequate support for comfort (inadequate stuffing). Attempts were made to correct the problems by a repair person, but the conditon of the recliner continues to deterioate. On January 7, 2022, I called the store and spoke to XXX, the repair manager. I explained my issues: inadequate support; one arm of the chair is unstable with inadequate stuffing, overall stability of the chair is inadequate and it causes back and leg pain. Due to the unstable cushioning in the arm of the chair, it creates unstable support for getting out of the chair. The instability on the arm can result in a falling accident. XXXXX came to my home on 1/18/22. He presented in a hostile manner. Upon answering the door, he had a scowl on his face, arms folded, no mask. I provided him with a mask. He indicated to me that he would not come to my home again in regards to this matter. Since I did not wish to escalate matters, I proceeded to explain my problems with this item. These included inadequate foam padding, coil springs and the hand wand. It was difficult to open the recliner. He sat in the seat and declared it to be fine that it was comfortable to him. I found his responses to be hostile and inappropriate. When I questioned him about the warranty, he said that the problems that I shared were part of wear and tear of the item. Based on my review of the warranty this is not true. The purchase price was $586.00. I have a copy of the warranty. Also, I have contacted Best Home Furnishing; was advised to have the store call them with the item number.

I believe that any business interested in complying with a customers report issues would rise to the occasion and honor their warranty. I object to their opinion that it is fine with them, however, they do not have to deal with the discomfort and pain that I experience when I sit in this chair. I am thorughly mystified why there continues to be a respone from Best Home Furnishing,Evansville, IN to my complaint. This company has indicated that they bear no responsibilities to mitigate the problems that I have addressed. I do not see a response from Discount Home Furnishing. The response needs to come from Discount Home Furnishing **********, NC, Best Home Furnishing has made it perfectly clea to me that they bear no responsibilites. So why do they keep responding. Could it be that Discount Furniture has dug their heels in and have refused to respond to my complaint. It was clear to me after the last visit by Discount Furniture that they did not intend to do anything regarding my dissatisfaction with their faulty product. Best Home Furnishing has continued to support this business; so therfore, any respons from them is mute. I will plan to take further action to have my complaints handled in an objective manner. I do not believe for one minute that Best Homne Furnishing nor Discount Furniture is open to a satsifactory outcome in attempting to resolve this issue. If you can get a direct response from Discount Furniture, this will perhaps provide a path forward to resolve this matter. I again state that Best Home Furnishing repeated that previous position is not helpful. This has been a very frustrating experience to say the least. I look to hear from you soon.Thank you.

      I purchased the Best Chairs Finley Swivel and Glider from Buy Buy Baby for my daughters nursery in August. We have been using the chair since September when she was born and the whole chair is pilling. There are little balls forming all over the chair, it is uncomfortable to sit in without pants on or a blanket over it since there are hard little balls all over it not to mention it is one of the loudest rocking chairs we've ever owned. This was the most expensive purchase we made for her room, about $650.00 and it is absolutely horrendous, an eye sore! It just looks terrible. There is clearly something wrong with the fabric, so I contacted lbijuvenile, the company that deals with warranties and returns, left several messages, I waited months for them to get back to me! I had to have Buy Buy Baby contact them so they would get back to me about my inquiry. They told me this problem is not covered under warranty?????!!!!!! We have several other pieces of furniture that were a fraction of the price of this chair that are in perfect condition. We haven't even had this chair for a year and it honestly looks like it's 10 years old. They should be ashamed of the quality of this chair! Absolutely disgusting! At this point I just want my money back for the chair. Their customer service is atrocious. I was told someone would call me back yesterday, surprise surprise, I haven't heard from them. Who knows when they will get back to me!!!!

      Business Response RE: Model XXXXXX/ID Number XXXXXXX-XXX.XXX Our fabric warranty states in relevant part: BEST HOME FURNISHINGS products feature a one (1) year warranty from the date of purchase, NOT to exceed eighteen (18) months from the date of manufacture, for seam slippage and/or separation. Surface wear due to use or abuse is not warranted. Our cover suppliers recommend NO type of protective coating be applied to any fabric or other cover material used on any BEST HOME FURNISHINGS furniture and any protective coating used will void this warranty. Flattening of the nap, pilling, shedding, balling, snagging, matting and shading are all common characteristics of some fabrics and are not considered defects in material or workmanship. Therefore, we regret that we are unable to assist the customer with regard to this matter. We trust the customer understands the basis for this decision.
