When signing up, I called on our recorded line and spoke with *******************, who responded to my question of providing me with ***** leads a month and if it was possible, yes we could easily do that! Well to date, Angi provided me with 26 total leads in 3 months. At my company, we close 76% of the clientele that we engage with. Thumbtack does an excellent job of providing a good percentage of valid leads. I was paying $800 a month for advertising and leads with Angi, and no one on my team was able to follow one valid lead due to false lead information including false phone numbers (people answer and say they never asked for services), addresses (non-existent) and emails (unable to deliver/address not found). The customer service also is no help in resolving any issues because they all have script to read to resolve your issue. Since all the calls and emails are recorded or saved Angi can see I have made many attempts to resolve this matter with no resolution from Angi in return. Angi is currently being sued by the *** for the reasons I have directly stated. The company misrepresented the quality, and the ability to provide project leads as well as their advertising capability to my business and others. Angi uses a wide range of deceptive and misleading tactics in selling home improvement project leads to service providers as well as homeowners.I decided to write this as a consumer, business owner, and developer to inform the small businesses owners, homeowners, and anyone else considering their services, to beware. Youre signing up for a service that you will not receive. Angi has a clause for you to pay 36% of your annual contract if you cancel. I have cancelled my subscription, and currently have my legal department drafting a lawsuit for Angi. Since its hard to get a return phone call, or return email, I am now forced to take legal action to get resolution. I hope this helps anyone reading this to make an informed decision about whether to choose Angi.

We appreciate **** bringing these concerns to our attention, and we sincerely apologize that his advertising experience with Angi wasn't a positive one. To clarify, the leads per month he was quoted on the phone is an average per month over the 12 month period. The amount of leads may vary month to month depending on demand, especially in the construction trade, as pros will typically have a decrease in leads during the colder months while having a substantial increase during warmer months. **** signed with us on 10/19/22 and received 26 leads from 10/20/22 to 12/16/2. His Onboarding Specialist and Client Success Manager both attempted to assist him with his advertising campaign and his lead concerns early on, but we were both met with resistance. We do not have recordings of the phone conversations since the state of ******** has an "all party consent" recording law, so we do not have the capability to record any calls to/from ********. He did, however, contractually agree to the 12 month commitment but did not uphold his end by stopping the monthly payments. Due to this, the advertising was cancelled and proceeded as outlined in the agreement he signed, and we will continue to pursue any balance that is still owed. Additionally, his profile has been excluded from our directory as requested. We do believe **** and his business would have seen success with Angi Ads had he not decided to cancel so early on in the winter months, and would have been more than happy and willing to work with him on success strategies with his leads throughout his advertising campaign. He is welcome to reach back out to us if he has any further questions or concerns.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]

What Angi is reporting is in accurate in terms of my account. Angi was paid up to the point of covering my cancellation. They insist on me paying a balance as a part of a contract signed when they did not uphold the terms outlined. The leads they attempted to provide as part of advertising were not valid and in many cases not even the person they advertised it to be. Angi never vetted any of the leads which lead me to a loss on many man hours to me and my advertising team. I utilize the same service with other providers similar to Angi and have not had to deal with ANY of the same issues. I reached out to Angi and had a conversation with an employee (in which I do have the recording) and I was talked to in a manner that I had to remind the servicer that I was a client and I was not to be talked to in such a way. Her idea of resolving the issue was it was best to hang up on me when letting her know this was not going away and I was trying to resolve this without utilizing my legal council. Currently I am paid up and figuring out how I want to move forward with the remainder of the contract, but I was advised to wait as the contract is being reviewed. Thats all I am allowed to legally say but let it be made clear as a company with a 5 star ****** rating and A+ BBB accreditation, I have never had an issue paying for a proper service when the contract is fulfilled.

      Regards,

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Angi has generated emails to me outlining they are willing to resolve my issue by having me pay 65% of the remaining balance of their contractual agreement. Angi however has not attempted in any way to resolve the true issues I have with the company. The contract that failed to be clear and conspicuously disclose all the terms and details of what services were actually being offered outside of talking to the agent that we had dealt with. The agent presented the companies abilities to be well over their true capabilities. When trying to contact Angi thru phone, and emails, it would be days and weeks before responses were made while I was still being billed at a monthly rate. BLC sent an email to Angi on 2/15/23 requesting a copy of the signed original via email, and received no response. However, we did receive an autogenerated email on 2/22/23 requesting to pay the balance or face 3rd party collections action. So to recap, Angi failed to provide the services I agreed to, Failed to be clear in contractual agreements and uphold their end due to lack of volume that they attest to "weather" effects, and when trying to connect to resolve issues even prior to cancelling, they become unresponsive, and call weeks later without any resolution. Yet their idea of settling the matter is to pay a fraction of what they feel is owed. You provided BLC with minimal leads, and your advertising was not able to help in assisting in one single dollar being generated to the company, while other similar advertising companies have been able to produce. My resolution would be to let me out of the contract, keep the $1600 I have paid you for the advertising, and part ways.

      Regards,

      *********************

01/01/2023 I have an agreement with Angi *** to provide leads for my roofing company. Lately they have been using an untruthful and misrepresenting advertising campaign to obtain leads that they send to us. They are luring people to give their personal information by telling them if they do, they will see if they qualify for a free roof. Angi *** is then selling that information on to us, a contractor, under the pretense that they are in need of a roof. We pay for these leads individually. When we get in touch with the customer, both parties become aware that they have been a part of a phising scheme. We are not able to recover the money spent on these leads- and the customer is no closer to applying for, or seeing if they qualify for a new roof- because we do not offer that.

We thank ****** for contacting us and we sincerely apologize for any frustrations that he has experienced. Angi offers advertising placement in an effort to attract consumers who will make their own hiring decisions. Consumers may utilize multiple avenues to fund their home projects, including grants or personal loans. If a consumer opts to input their contact information in an effort to gather information regarding completing a project, they are given the option to forward their information to additional service providers. These leads are provided to service providers as opportunities for them to provide a service to a homeowner. While we appreciate ******'s feedback, he has been provided with legitimate leads and we will not issue a refund.

On 1/19/23 I filled in an online form on Angi.comfor painting my apartment. I never have permission to share my phone number or email to any third parties.Within 5 minutes I began to get inundated with calls, some people called 3 times in a row. I immediately called angi.com and requested that they remove all of my info, its 24 hours later and I am still getting these spam calls, all hours of last night and early this morning. This is interfering with my work, it feels like borderline harassment. This company is a scourge. I never gave permission to share my info and when I called to request they remove my info they did nothing! I feel like Ive been doxed by Angi.com.I would hope to let any other consumer know to avoid this service like a biblical plague.

We've used home advisor now Angie leads for years and since their merge they have stolen money charging our business without authorization. Their only remedy is sending ** new leads that lead to nothing because they're recycled horrible leads. They have an computer system that catches people's information. Their operation is a criminal and we plan to file a lawsuit. This needs to be made public and they need to be held accountable. Look at their cash flow look at their profits over 1 billion they net 77 million no way if anyone operating this way filed taxes they'd be under investigation. They have to be held accountable there needs to be a class action lawsuit for this just a guess but they have probably defrauded clients out of 200 million easily and we will set to prove this in court. We were part of Angies list since ****. They did a great job. Then they switched to Angi. That's when the problems started. Our phone stopped ringing so I contacted them. They said we were removed due to lack of recent reports. They wanted more recent reports from customers. So we contacted a few customers that took them multiple calls to get the reports on. Our customers did so even though they no longer used Angi. Then to get back on Angi doubled our price stating it now includes both interior and exterior ads. We did get a request fairly quick for an estimate. It was odd that people were not calling back or replying to our emails. Some clients said the work was already completed and they were tired of being harassed by angi contractors. I spoke to Angi support a few times because the names would disappear or phone numbers and addresses were not valid. This went on for several months. ************************* said she was checking into it. At no time in any of our interactions with Angi company did anyone deny the leads/Info were real or fake. During this past year we had 3 real contacts 2 of which we landed small jobs that was only at best a quarter of our yearly cost. When the Angi company sent me a survey I explained all the issues and we wanted to cancel as they were supplying fake info such as addresses and phone and names. Still no response. I left her a few messages. Still no response. On Jan 17,2023 I called the main angi phone number. Tried explaining ******. He was rude and said he didn't want to hear any complaints and we are under a contract and had to pay even without jobs or leads. That I had to deal with *****. He kept pushing the hold button and told me to stop talking that he didn't want to hear anything I said . He told me I was wrong and called me a liar. Angi did not keep their end of the contract nor did they tell us they were now just a leads company. They send the same few leads over and over to all in that particular field.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Angi response is not honest in anyway. They did not comply with any of our request. They also said all companies must do auto renewal. ***** did not help with any complaints. When I filed this complaint with BBB it had an auto response stating that Angi requested us do before filing. Which we did do. I called and wrote to the email address it stated. When calling we were told their was no such person in their employ. When our email was sent our response was not from the person they said it was and it only stated even though our contract was breeched by angi not us they would still expect payment. They have not offered any form of compliance to our request. We were part of angies list for decades as advertisement. They are not in any way the company they once were, they are a lead based company which if we had known that we would not have resigned with them. The are very corrupt and breeched our contract which allows us to cancel at no cost. If we would have checked the BBB listing 1st we would never have done business with them. They have thousands of complaints about the same issues we are having. We encourage any companies out there to not do any business with this company. They do not comply with their own contract or word. They never follow up or follow through with any complaints but demand money. I was given only 30 minutes for this response so alot is missing . We respectfully asked to be cancelled due to breech of contract on angi end. Fake numbers, addresses, leads. All fake. Then most disappear.

I was a contractor for Angi, I recently canceled my account. They charged my credit card with an amount I didnt agree with. I called two customer service reps without any resolution. I asked for a partial credit but they couldnt give me a credit because my account was already closed, however, they took money out of my account after it was closed. A month prior, I called to cancel and they gave me $300 in credits to stay aboard. So Im not sure why they took money from my credit card when I had credits on my Angi account. I also had a monthly limit that they exceeded and charged me for.

We thank ***** for reaching out to us and regret to hear that he has any concerns regarding his billing. *****'s advertisements were terminated on 1/12/23. The charge that he received was due to leads that were issued to him prior to cancelling his account. While ***** did receive a credit, these credits were applied to additional leads that he had received. After reviewing the account, we can confirm that the final charge is valid and we wish ***** the best in his future business endeavors.
