1 starMy wife and I just sat through the spiel last night. After 2.5 hours, we eventually agreed to sign up. My complaints go as follows: 1. Misleading or false information presented 2. Poor quality 1. We were completely misled. This company sells in the premise that you get a set number of “stars” each year. They tell you that 1 star = 1 bedroom condo at $249. They did present a few caveats (traveling outside the continental 48 states, peak season, or wanting more rooms). However, this is not true. Some random place in Iowa costs 3 stars to get that price. Same with several places we looked at in Florida. Additionally, we were brought on by the idea of being able to go to Disneyland consistently. There is nothing in LA, Anaheim, or anything near. Supposedly you can request a condo, but several times during the presentation they mention that they have condos “just outside of the gates” of Disney. They have properties in Orlando, but definitely not Anaheim, so once again we felt misled. 2. Quality. They entice you during the presentation with pictures of beautiful condos on beach front property. They also highlighted Hawaii several times during the presentation. There was one unit. It was a studio and want anywhere near the beach and it was older and outdated. The existing members also rated it less than 2.5 stars. We have reached out to the sales person who we agreed on the contract with. They have listed in the contract that we can cancel any time in 3 business days. I’m hoping that the company has some integrity to allow us to just cancel. But I’m not optimistic.Review fromDarlene A

Just contacted them to rent a condo in Kentucky for a week and was told there is NO condos in the whole state of Kentucky so I asked for them to send me a list of states and condos in each state. She told me she could but it really wouldn't do me any good since they change day by day, week by week,etc.,etc. So they said they could help me with a hotel so I said ok. Then they was giving the same rates as any hotel. Where is my big discount for being a member???? In 2018 me and my sister rented a condo in Florida for a week for $500 for the whole week using them. What happened to this company????? Then it's asked about "non-family" members using it. They said non-family members are parents, siblings, and children. Who do they consider family???? Complete rip off. Not like they used to be for sure.Global Connections, Inc.

1 starInvested in what I thought was an ideal vacation savings membership. Something my family and I could use for when we do take vacations. I always told myself I would never fall for a "timeshare scam" however with this I was blindsided. I was told that with this membership my family and I could get a place to stay for a week over the summer (as we normally take our yearly family trip), and it only cost us $368 total, using this membership. See, because becoming a member would automatically grant me two stars, and with those stars is how we would save so much money on the cost of our trip. Low and behold upon getting home and beginning my search for our summer trip, THERE WAS NOTHING available unless you wanted to spend what our normal trip would actually cost! So, what did I purchase!? How and when is it supposed to save me money? I made it clear I cannot afford to vacation often, yet they promised me, ensured me, that I would not regret this and that I could even pass it on to my children to use as long as they wanted to continue paying the yearly fees. I immediately reached out letting them know that it was not going to work, and that I could not afford it. I was then told they would personally help me find the trip I was looking for. After many more calls, I began to be avoided and eventually told I signed a contract and was obligated. I'm 74 and still work full time, living paycheck to paycheck. IF this was what I was actually thought it was, I would be fine paying what I agreed to. But it is not, and I'm embarrassed to admit that, but I was taken advantage of. And that IS NOT OK. I want out of this contract; I need out of this contract. As I said, I know I have some fault here, I should not have fallen for it. I want them to admit their fault and release me from this ridiculous vacation package who's only purpose is to fill their pockets, as it is surely not helping mine with the one family trip I try to take every summer.Review fromKathleen D R

We attended a sales pitch in Honolulu in December 2024. We are a retired couple and think of ourselves as financially savvy as we must watch what we spend. But we fell for this membership and several weeks later, we are suffering an extreme case of buyer's remorse after reading the reviews on BBB and Yelp. We were NEVER given a copy of the contract so we have no idea how to access the 5-year money back guarantee touted during the presentation. In examining the members' website, we found that the deals on car rental are similar to booking through Costco. The deals on hotels are similar to what we would find on Booking.com or from the hotels themselves. Condos do not appear to be available in the spaces we are apt to travel, nor for the dates in which we are interested. The reviews on the BBB site and on Yelp of other condos indicate less than premium facilities. We want our money back, but I'm relatively sure this company is not about to give us a refund. It's embarrassing to us that we were taken by this company while on our dream vacation to Hawaii.Global Connections, Inc.

DON'T DO IT! I don't care if it sounds like a great deal, I don't care if they say its only $43 a month for their lowest plan. I don't care that you have always dreamed of traveling. DO NOT sign up with them. It seems like it is a year subscription for $43 a month. a great deal. No, they count it as a loan and interest is applied. We started in May 2023 with an amount of $1495. We paid $95 up front then have been paying $43 a month since then. I just went to look at what we owe $1405.05 after almost two years!!!!! They won't let you cancel until you have paid the 'loan' back. So in order for us not to renew in March 2025 we have to pay them $1405.05. I am so angry! We have paid almost $1000 and still owe them $1405. DO NOT sign up. We were offered a free trip if we listened and at the time I was so excited. We haven't used it at all and if we had there are more charges. They charge $408 every year just to renew! PLEASE don't sign up with them!Global Connections, Inc.

My Granddaughter and her family selected a week with Global Discovery vacation. Now ready to enjoy their week, to her dismay, the resort phone recorder stated they were closed due to a hurricane. We called Global and spoke to Debbie, Marsha McGinley (who spoke harsh), then Mgr. Kelli Brazier who hang up on me. All said no refund, nor would they help to relocate nor change the date for the family of four who was already packed, with transportation. They all said we didn't purchase their insurance for $99.00 which was never offered to my granddaughter and me being 86yrs old forgot about. I really thought this time share was fare since we had used it before. Please help us get a refund or have them extend their travel date or relocate this family. Thanks in advance, Bette FieldGlobal Connections, Inc.

Mr. and Mrs. F**** Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear your vacation was affected by the hurricane. As you stated, travel protection is offered on all condominium vacations, which you unfortunately declined. We do encourage all members to purchase travel protection, especially if you are traveling to hurricane prone destinations during season. I would be happy to discuss the condominiums, and what options you have available. You can reach me at (913) 660-7780.Review fromLogan W

I would not fall for this scam from global discovery vacations. My husband and I sat through a very long presentation in Florida in 2021 and I was pressured into purchasing this “vacation package” after HOURS of them pressuring me to get it. The presentation made it sound like it was a really good deal but it was nothing like what they said. My “contract” was almost $10,000 for this so called “vacation package” and have used it one time to get a motel in Elizabethtown, KY and ended up paying more for the motel through global then what the hotel was charging. The hotel was in a very bad part of town we were told and was very sketchy. I told GDV I wanted to cancel with in 3 days and they never canceled me and just pressured me to stay telling me things that were in fact LIES. I want all my money back that I paid for the deposit and the payments I made to Monterey financial. This recently hit my credit score as being sent to collections July 31,2024 and this is totally unacceptable. Please do not fall for this. I wouldn’t have even left one star for the review but I had to pick something…no stars for me!Global Connections, Inc.

5 starsI am the most skeptical person on the planet. I read so many reviews. I came to the conclusion that majority of these reviews have nothing to do with the product. It seems to be pilot error. In regards to product, however, I stayed a week at Maui Sands. People were saying it’s outdated and got “buggy”. Maybe not everyone is aware that tropical islands have bugs. I’m an island girl. I stayed in an amazing condo oceanfront and saw so many whales from the balcony! It was magical. The most amazing part is that I only paid $ 400 for the week and that condo costs over $5000 online ( Mauisands.com ). This is a NO BRAINERReview fromsteve j

1 starWe have been members for a few years , we have found the condos to be old dated whatever ,.. there ok at best. But recently we had a week stay in Maui at the Maui sands condo "resort". The buildings are old but the place is relative ok,, The room they gave us was an absolute sh...hole.. Not like the pics on line at all.. Nasty old furniture that hadn't been cleaned in years carpet same .. A wall AC unit out of the 60's that rattled like a Blender from the same decade in the living room with nothing in the bedroom but a plastic standup fan.. Oh and a note on the fridge that said don't put too much stuff in fridge cuz it takes a while to cool down. Seriously !! Antique surprised I dint have to go buy blocks of ice and some salt with a horse & buggy. If you've ever been to Hawaii its 80 humid with a slight breeze ,, Well inside a condo it can get hot .. We called the number for Discovery and there's no one there by the time we checked in ,we told the property manager we weren't happy with the room and we're not staying.. We went to an air B&B ,, I didn't call the emergency number Global provided because I didn't think this was considered an emergency well apparently it is according to Corporate .. Fire Fire the room is on Fire .. We were so busy trying to get another room at 5 pm on a Friday in Maui .. Some vacation! you go on vacation to d-stress and immediately have the stress of finding another room.,, So according to corporate I made a critical error and didn't call their emergency number . Because of this fatal mistake of not thinking this was an emergency They credited me a whopping $100.00 Yippee ! wow ! Went out of their way on that one.. I wouldn't advise anyone to buy into this vacation club, its not what its made out to be ,..Review fromXiaolei Y

It is a nightmare. I signed up for the contract in Hawaii, and didn't realize how bad it is. They do not provide what they promoised. They just get in in the loop over and over again, whenever you are asking a condo, they alway tell you it's not available. I really need to get rid of this contract, they bondle me for 5 years!!!Global Connections, Inc.
