I paid for a timing chain/timing belt to be installed when I got an oil change and a tune up, but the mechanic did not replace the timing chain/timing belt so my car broke down. You cannot easily see that part on a car because the part is inside a cover. If the Kia repair shop does not have the part, then you still get charged for the part and for the labor expense.

Bought a 2015 Kia optima in 2021 with a rebuilt title at a corporate dealership. The car had 65-68k miles. In later part if 2023, the engine started using 2 quarts of oil a week. I sent an email to Kia corporate and they replied that it was beyond their scope of work and take it to the nearest dealership. In sept of 23, I took it to Kia elizabethtown and the service manager told me that it could have a recall engine in it. They did all the updates and told me if the engine fails Kia would replace it. On July 3 it did just that, the engine fail. Dropped the car off on July 6. The service manager called july 10 saying Kia would not cover it cause it was a rebuild, but they can fix it for 7k. This is the same dealership that I bought it from. Bought it for 7k, it will cost 7k to fix and still owe 3k on it. These people are crooked as a dog hind leg. After further reading, these engines has been failing for years. I your in the market for an auto, DO NOT BUY A KIA MUCH LESS FROM THIS DEALERSHIP.

My mother purchased a 2020 Kia Soul in 2019. The car has consumed copious amounts of oil and has been taken into the dealership for consumption tests, combustion cleaning and oil top offs/changes. She has complained about the issue for almost two years now (60,000 miles). Around the last week of March 2024 she took the car in due no oil after being serviced and knocking sounds coming from the engines. When she brought it in the lady said she was going to try to replace the engine and they gave her a loaner car. 3 days later they tell her to come pick up the car without replacing the engine, we have evidence of them overfilling her car with oil. She is 'Passing" all of her tests is the excuse they are using. They keep telling her to bring it back after so many miles to try to run her warranty out. We have been in contact with attorneys, and we are an ASC certified family. We know there is a serious issue with the vehicle and the way they are giving her the run around is absolutely not right.
