I met with the owner, *********************** three weeks ago to consult with and hire to replace my ** and furnace. I have the email stating that I wished to have BOTH the ** and Furnace replaced. I sent him a check per his estimate for both the ** and Furnance that was cashed by his company. The workers came out today and said that "they were here to replace the **, but not the furnace since i didn't want the furnace". I called *********************** right away and asked him why they said that when he cashed my check for both and my email was clear about having both replaced. He started SCREAMING at me telling me "I am ******, do you know how ****** I am?!" Followed by a rant about how I only said **. I was very calm and said I dont know what you are talking about, you cashed my check and he yelled "I dont look at the checks". I said i have it in WRITING that i wanted both done. He screamed again telling me "I'm pulling my guys off the job now, you cost me money" and hung up on me. He was very rude and unprofessional. I'm afraid he will not return my money. I would never do business with someone so unhinged who treats a customer like that and he already cashed my $13,000 check! I need help in making sure the money is returned to me so I can hire someone else.

The dispute is with Alvin Hollis in south weymouth (https://www.alvinhollis.com/). Our account number is ******** closed the house on *********. Noticing the house had a broken oil gauge and some furnace water leaking, we called Alvin Hollis for service because previous owner used them. Then *** (later turned out to be the sales guy) showed up and had my husband sign a contract without explaining what it was for. Of course my husband assumed it's for the service call. It's not until we got the first oil delivery receipt, I called the office asking why. The lady said *** had us sign a two-year automatic oil delivery contract. In total from 28Jan to 14Mar (49days) they claimed they delivered ***** gallon (**** gallon per day) for an empty, non-heated house. The house was renovated and not occupied with heat all shut off until 08Apr.We terminated the contract realizing their oil quantity was way off from common sense perspective. My husband fixed the broken oil gauge. From 14 Mar to 26Apr (43days), we only used 170 gallon (i.e. **** gallon per day) with house heated and occupied from 08Apr onward. We file this complaint because they were ridiculously cheating on the quantity (6 times than it should be). An empty non-heated large house uses no more than 2 gallon per day if you take into consideration hot water heater. Correct amount should be no more than ~98 gallon. We already paid a $1986.32 for 560 gallon by 8Mar2022.We tried to contact this company but they insisted they were correct. Therefore we seek BBB's assistance to resolve the dispute: They must refund us in the amount of cheated and paid quantities (560-98=462 gallon) according to current price, as well as cancel all service bills and ***** (=*****-560) gallon **** (cheated non-paid quantity) because they cheated us into this automatic delivery from the very beginning and they came twice but unable to fix the broken gauge.

Most homes use between one and three gallons of oil per day in the winter. Thirteen gallons a day is beyond unusual. We believe there must be a mistake and we're happy to address it.The contract you signed clearly outlines the benefits of auto delivery. Our goal is to relieve our customers of the responsibility to keep track of oil usage. We're unable to find you in our customer database, so please call me at your convenience.***************************, VP************

When you initially met with our Rep, ***, you signed an agreement that clearly outlines our auto delivery program. All our oil customers receive auto delivery. It’s designed to relieve customers of the responsibility to keep track of oil usage.  You closed on the house on January 24, 2022. We opened your account on January 25, 2022. We delivered 195.2 gallons of oil on January 28, 2022. The previous owner was our customer for many many years. We based our next deliveries on the size of your home (5,300 SF) and our experience with the home. Our last delivery of 107.5 gallons was on March 15, 2022.   You note in your complaint that the house was under renovation prior to your moving in. Although you were not living there, the contractors would have needed to use the heat while working. In the dead of winter they would need some level of warmth for their own comfort and for their materials to function properly. Additionally, some heat would have been needed overnight to assure the pipes didn’t freeze. Our records show the previous owner used 1,431 gallons during the same time period a year earlier. You only used 668 gallons which reflects the reduced activity in the home.  In addition to oil delivery, your new contract with us included a 'no charge' Service Policy. Accordingly we provided the following at no charge:Cleaned your heating systemRepaired plastic fittings on top of the Roth oil tank Repaired a water leak at the boiler You had offered to supply us with a new oil tank gauge, but bought the wrong one. Since you never provided another one or requested us to do so, we did not replace it. When you closed your account on March 23 2022, we billed you for the above services since you terminated your oil delivery contract. You now have an outstanding balance of $1,964.20, some of which is for oil.
