This is a scam. We paid for this warranty and it would not cover anything. We could not find a company that would take it. We canceled the warranty but they wouldn't give our money back. I give Carchex no stars. They ripped us off.

I have used this company for over a year. When I was ready to cancel they still charged me and I had to call back to complain. They finally stopped charging me but never refunded my money. They have 0 customer service. They offer no solutions.

HORRIBLE !!!! Scam Artists. Didn't want to pay. I had car serviced in December 2023 due to hearing squealing, Mechanic diagnosed and found bad alternator, in which I paid for @$1200.00. BUT FOUND NO OTHER ISSUES. No where on the invoice does it say they found anything else, no where. I then signed up for warranty just in case there is another issue down the road because repairs are expensive. Unfortunately, over a month later, my car was leaking fluid and had it towed to Ford. They said the water pump is bad and needs to be replaced. I then started a claim, but denied me because on the mechanics notes, he said to "check coolant leak", "check alternator", "check warning light washer fluid." So, they used the words "Coolant leak check' to deny the claim. They didn't even consult me or the mechanic to discuss his verbiage in his notes. The adjuster didn't even call me or the previous mechanic. I then put a couple of requests for CarChex to have the adjuster call me back, but he never did. I then did a dispute on their website, to call back, in which they eventually did. Before they called me back, the Ford dealership called me to say that an adjuster never came by, I then told my service rep at the dealership I was denied because of the previous mechanics lingo. She then proceeded to tell me Carchex very rarely approve, and when they do, they only pay half, they are scam artists. And after talking to people about my situation, they have experienced the same issue with them. They never want to pay. I finally received a call back from a nasty lady named Sabrina and she said that my claim was denied because she/they believed it's a preexisting condition, based upon the mechanic's lingo. I then told her to call the mechanic if she has a problem with his invoice and he will tell her he found no leaks. But she said too bad, I'm denied. I then requested to speak to her boss, but, she nope, no one above her, it doesn't matter anyway, I'm already denied. Disgusting company !

The sales people lie to us about what is covered in the first place. I got mailed a huge booklet with my warranty info supposedly in it, but when I needed to file a claim for repairs, I find out I have another contract online that is different from the one they mailed me. Needless to say, 3/4 of the things aren't covered according to the contract online that I knew nothing about until filing a claim. The admin of the warranty company even said to me "I don't know why they lie to you and make it sound like you're covered bumper to bumper." Say what? If you know this is a common practice because you admitted you know they're lying to us, then why don't you do something about it. Big waste of money for 36 months of nothing. Stay as far away from them as you can. They won't end up covering anything!!!

They are sending multiple unsolicited emails to me a day in violation of the CAN-SPAM act. The address listed is a shipping center in Newhall, CA. Avoid them at all cost and report any unsolicited emails you receive.

I took the car in to be repaired due to a odd consumption issue. When we file the claim the company called check decided that they would not repair the car because they felt as though there was not enough oil in the car. However, I have documents that the oil change was just performed three weeks prior to this issue and they denied the claim for the car to be repaired stating that the car had less oil in it as required and I had all documents of having an all change and I was still denied

Wish I read these before purchasing. Policy should have never been approved. Wasn't notified of change in coverage untill. At time of purchase all vehicle information is given to company for review and processing. They claim not to run carfax on vehicle but only do at time of claim. This is deceptive as they knowingly do so to keep sales and policy holders paying unbeknownst to them that thier cars do not qualify for repair under the contract as to which they are sold. I have a clear and clean nj title in hand but they tell me it's a bonded vehicle un known to me. They fail to act in all honesty when selling their policies.

They tried calling me four times last night in quick succession. Since the four different numbers were ones I didn't recognize, I didn't answer. This morning, I open my business email to find four different emails about the company trying to reach me, explaining that they are just trying to get back to me regarding my requested quote. 1) I have never requested a quote and 2) In the 48 years of my life, I have never owned the brand of vehicle they are saying I'm requesting a quote for. Fraudulent company! BBB rates this company as an A+ company, with a 1.95 rating out of 5 by customers. How does that work??? Bogus!

This company has good reviews on the surface but don’t be fooled. They will immediately sell your policy to a horrible company without your permission. And your car will not get fixed! My car has been sitting there for 2 weeks with the engine open and the auto shop and I keep calling the company to get work started. Instead they make us wait for adjusters who take over a week to come out and then that isn’t enough, they want to see more parts opened up and more videos. We comply but those videos never seem to make it to the adjuster. They won’t honor their rental car policy while I sit here two weeks without a car following their procedures because it is only for the exact approved hours which they can’t get approved even though it is a covered item. There is no excuse for this Carchex!!! Why would you sell off your contracts to inept companies with horrible reviews??? I would never have bought a policy from American Auto shield with so many BBB complaints. Bait and switch! Buyer beware. My car would’ve been fixed in 3 days. Instead I sit without a car while ******** **** ****** is on holiday until next week.
