i purchased a remanufactured 700r4 transmission from powertrain products invoice #****** for my 1989 chevy silverado 350 cid/2wd. they sold me the exact replacement. i installed it along with a new throttle cable and had problems with a flare shift. i am a certified ase master technician with 28 years experience. after checking for technical service bulletins i found a tsb that addresses this concern with an updated spacer plate. powertrain products agreed to replace my transmission. they shipped me another unit first then i shipped them the other unit. i installed the new one and found the torque converter clutch not working. after diagnosing i consulted with the company and replaced the bad solenoid. upon replacement i saw that the transmission had a pre 1986 pre fuel injection valve body. one with out an auxiliary valve body. i noticed a very hard shift from park to drive. the auxiliary valve body is necessary in a fuel injected truck. the transmission also does not downshift correctly. powertrain products disagrees with this fact and told me that i can ship them this transmission while my truck is down they will disassemble the unit and if they find nothing wrong they will send it back to me disassembled. i told them the transmission is not going to show signs of damage because it is the wrong transmission for this truck. they still disagree with me.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/05/04) */ In the remanufacturing world we often will make units more universal then originally from the OEM. This particular interchange does not cause the issue stated and has been used in the field for over 20 years as an acceptable interchange. We are happy to warranty the unit as per our written warranty but given the number of replacements have asked it to be returned to insure there is not a mistake occurring in the field. The consumer states they are a 28 year veteran in this industry . That being said and not discounted we also hold the same tenure and have produced thousands of remanufactured transmissions. We deserve the same respect he is being given. We replaced the unit once at no cost and if there is a manufacturing issue found we will do so again as is our commitment but we are exercising our right to inspect the unit first given the multiple failures. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/05/08) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) this is the wrong transmission for my truck. my truck is supposed to have an auxiliary valve body to prevent hard engagement to drive from park. it is not universal nor has it been made universal by you. it is your fault that you sent me the wrong transmission. all i did was install it. you sent me the right transmission the first time because you asked me questions specific to what options are on my vehicle to get me the exact replacement. i do not want to send you this transmission on a pallet for you to take apart and have all measurements come out to spec and have you send it back to me in pieces. a problem that is apparent during a test drive may not be apparent when comparing specs especially when you are testing a transmission intended to go into the wrong vehicle. Business Response /* (4000, 11, 2022/05/17) */ We apologize for the tardiness on our response here. That being said our stance is still the same. Just because the consumer is of the belief this is not correct for the application does not mean that they are correct. As a stated this adaptation has been in use for years and employed in thousands of units with no issue. If hard engagement or shift issues are present there is likely another issue in the setup of the vehicle. We are happy to work through that and back our warranty as stated above. Consumer Response /* (4200, 13, 2022/05/22) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Read again what I wrote on 5/08/22. I want the same transmission that belongs in my truck which includes an auxiliary valve body. A component necessary for smooth engagement from park to drive in a fuel injected vehicle. I already told you why I'm not going to put my transmission on a pallet. That is explained on 5/08/22.

I purchased a remanufactured engine with warranty approximately a year ago. The vehicle with the engine has been in the shop for almost 2 months. We are waiting for the Tech Dept at Powertrain to give us a decision on what they want the mechanic to do for repairs. Both the mechanic and I have contacted Powertrain on multiple occasions trying to get answers. No one is receiving or returning our calls and the issue has yet to be resolved.

My Jeep broke down in Colorado the mechanic out there bought a refurbished engine from ******** and installed it. It cost me 5700 and a flight to get back out there to pick up my Jeep. Two months after being home in California when it started having engine problems. They went back and forth here with the mechanic and had them replace some parts and do a bunch of tests and said they'd reimburse me partially for the costs. I paid 1400 just to be left on the side of the freeway 50 miles from home. They said they'd send another engine now they've stopped calling me back and I am still without a vehicle. I've eaten through my savings Having to borrow an old Cadillac from my friend. I can't afford any more. I'm now broke because of this. I don't know what to do. They also told my mechanic here they'd call him back and have not

I have puchaised an engine from Powertrain Products. I got the quote from them i paid the amount they asked i paid for the no fault warranty. It was supposed to take 6 weeks to get. It took over 3 months. I was told that there is a shortage of parts with Covid 19. I thought ok i get it no problem. I finaly got the engine got installed started right up ran really smoth. It sat there idleing for about 45 min. My mechanic got in it to bring it to me and about 5 min it satrted making noises. Upon further inspection there were 2 valve rods that bent. One in cylinder #3 and one in cylinder #8 deeming the engine faulty. After i send back the faulty heads i was told that the failure was caused by exccesive exhaust heat blaiming my mechanic. Everyone knows that there is nothing you can do to make the exhaust heat up just from installing all the accsesories on the engine. I talked to Powertrain and they said to file a warranty claim. I did and at this point i'm still fighting to get paid for what i paid for the repair and parts. I just got a check that is $195 short on just the labor itself. They are refusing to pay for the parts because they don't like the cost or they want a receipt or they don't like this receipt. Shoud have sent the parts with new heads than. They are looking at this like in the perfect world my book said this and that is what i'm going to pay you. Regardless of what it cost me. here is a time frame to show how long it takes. Oh and Ashley at Powertrain is the rudest person i had delt with and she keeps up with the talking point from Powertrain. They don't understand that nobody owes them parts at cost. I ordered the engine on August 31st 2021 Received engine in December 2021 On December 10th 2021 i filed the warranty calim for the repair on the engine that failed. It is March 15th 2022 and i'm still fighting to get my money back from the work i have paid for. I like to get the money that i have paid for the repair back. The engine was faulty
