I entered into a contract with Allied Home Remodeling on 3/14/24 for window installation. The amount of the contract that I signed was $11,500. The invoice emailed to me for payment was for $12,880. There was no verbal or written approval from me for a contract increase. The additional amount was not discussed with or approved by me. I was told that I must pay $12,880 by the sales representative (AG) during our 5/9/24 conversation, however, I am only responsible for the amount on the signed contract because Allied did not receive homeowner approval for the increased costs.

The customer was told of the extra work that needed to be done.  This work had to be done due to the faulty siding install done at her house.  We explained to her what needed to be done and our contract allots for unknown issues that might come up.  If the customer would allow us, we can come back, remove what we did and her house can continue to leak water.  If that is acceptable I will send my foreman back to remove that work done to safeguard her home and she can pay us the contract amount as she wishes.

The customer also refuses to return anyone's calls at our office.  Nick has called her 4 times to discuss this and she refuses to return his call

Unprofessional conduct of installers. First, even though we were to be notified of delivery of materials we weren't and walked out our front door to be blocked with materials. The installers were rude, unprofessional and had no regard for our landscaping. They continuously walked thru our flower beds breaking down plants and when asked not to do so they laughed at me. The hotest day of the year they left tarps on our lawn and destroyed large sections of grass. They took a 2 hour nap in our front lawn. They left cigarette buts in our flower beds, nails were left in the driveway, debris was left all over the garage floor and front porch. Not one person spoke English so that we could communicate with them. We have had a new driveway, front porch, stonework done, new fence, etc. and no one has ever disrespected us the way these Allied employees did. I cannot believe that Allied hired such disrespectful individuals. They drug ladders thru our flower beds. Allied took pictures of the damage to confirm our complaint but all they did was give excuses about their conduct. I was even called a racist. We even gave these employees water because it was so hot. I will never recommend this company. No employee representing Allied should call anyone a racist because I complained of their conduct. Taking a 2 hour nap in our front lawn was unbelievable. We now have to replace large sections of grass and flowers that were stomped on.

I had a roof leak in November around Thanksgiving, after having Allied install a new roof less than 6 months before. It took 2 weeks for me to get a call back, and another week for someone to come out. Miguel et al arrived They said nothing was wrong, they added some caulking to the window and left. In early January the roof leaked again. Majorly causing damage to 3 rooms.od my house. Miguel came again and agreed the flashing was improper, then replaced it on one side.. while telling his boss that Im a lier and the leak is impossible. I then had to fight to get a manager to come look and see I was not in the wrong. They agreed and finished the flashing replacement and said they'd fix the interior. It's taken 2 weeks for me to get someone to my home, then they argue what is actually being taken care of after we've already agreed. I asked for a different team as I do not trust Miguel at this point. This I was refused instead I got a call from the Assistant Manager Arty who proceeded to yell at me angrily for a solid 5 minutes, including insults and constantly saying f*ck this f*ck that. It was harassment and an attack because I want to have the warranty honored as described in our agreement to begin with.

We are fixing the drywall either Monday or Tuesday

      Customer response

      02/12/2024

Why I'm dissatisfied is that I was originally told in writing that they would be here Monday to fix the problem. The I received a call from the owner Paul only because I left a cryptic message on his voicemail via the call center answering service, because customer service was told not to give me any information to be able to contact the superior of Arty, the manager whom verbally assaulted me for 5 minutes on the phone. Now the same person whom failed to properly install and fix the roof 3 times in a row, is still being send to fix my ceiling. It's very hard to trust someone who has shown they don't know what they are doing to do more work on my home. There was no option when it came to resolution of the issue. Just even more time I have to wait with my house in shambles to have the problem fixed, and 4 days of having my home based business unable to operate. There has been no apology, just a feeling of "why did you think it was ok to reach out to an owner?" And a very discouraging lack of communication between the moving parts of the company was very very evident. The only semi remedy of this is that the agreement stated in the warranty which we are contracted to will hopefully finally be honored after 4 months of me having to fight tooth and nail to get anything done and taking on verbal assault from the employees here.

Im disappointed and disgusted with this company and the entire process I've been put through. They should honestly not hold any accreditation with the BBB.

The customer is always wrong in their mindset and they allow abuse to their contacted customers. That's unacceptable.

My roof started leaking a month ago. It was replaced in 2022. All levels of the rear of the house. A guy came out on January 27th and met with my mother. He stated he’d try to come that Saturday or whenever. I was under the impression they would come ready to repair the roof. I’ve called almost every day after a no show Saturday to get somebody to tell me if we are at least on the schedule. I get the same response every time. They say someone will call by close of Business. Finally Friday a guy called. I think Dean. He said Alex would call or someone to schedule us. Again no call back. It’s been mostly sunny. The weather is good. Even if they have other houses scheduled but to not give us any time frame leads me to believe they have no intention of repairing it. After spending $7000. This is unacceptable to be paying on a loan of a leaky roof. They need to repair it or refund my money. It’s only a year and a half old.

On 1/2/24 Allied Remodeling replaced the roof of my townhouse but on 1/6/24 I discovered my roof was still leaking. I paid $4,941.00 to Allied for this job. According to my contract Allied committed to replacing my entire main roof. I contacted the company and as of today 1/26/24 they have failed to look at the leak. Some of Allied employees have been very obnoxious only stating that the leak is from a small area (flat roof that includes my main roof) where my house adjoins the neighbor's house without performing any tests to corroborate their statement. I had another roofing installment company look only at the flat roof and determined the flat roof had no leaks. Allied has failed to give me the decency of even going to the attic to look and see the areas that were wet and insists that I perform their due diligence and get an inspector that costs $600+ to fix the issue. My roof is still leaking, and I can see cracked concrete in the ceiling that may fall, making this issue potentially hazardous considering the huge amount of rain we've been experiencing lately. I can move forward and have another company look at the leak but since Allied gave a lifetime warranty in contract and the job is newly done, no other company wants to perform any work here. My request is that Allied with full transparency come out to my house to determine where the leak exists. Please note Allied Remodeling that is supposedly a professional company is making claims that they have absolutely no evidence of to support their claim while failing to do their due diligence to prove the true cause of the leak. Please help me resolve this matter as it's potentially a hazard to occupants in my home, should loose concrete start falling.

The area that is leaking is the customer's flat roof area which is not part of our contract.  We sent our service tech to inspect the roof.  We have since given the customer an estimate on replacing that area and to this date the customer has not given us the go ahead to replace that flat roofing area.  The customer still insists it is the shingle roofing area (the area we replaced) that is leaking and that is not correct.  Our service manager Artie G**** emailed the customer:  "Good morning. My name is Artie G**** the service manager for Allied Remodeling. You and I spoke at length today about your leak. My install foreman said is coming from the flat roofing area.  You said you believe that is coming from the shingle area. We came to an agreement that you would hire a licensed inspector and if they say that the leak is coming from the work that we did, we will cover the costs for the inspection and also fix the leak and take care of the interior damages. Once you receive the inspection report, you could forward it to this email."  That email was sent 4 days ago and we have not received any response from the customer.

The Roofing Job was to be financed (0%) by the company that did come True, after I was required to find a loan on my own, that was put on me. I was able secure a small loan to help pay for the work that was due to start. I advised The Representative multiple times that I’m tapped out and I do not have any more funds period. The Day the work had started I received a text that the roof will require 50 Sheets of sheathing, (@ $4250.00 ) I contacted the person in charge and advised him that work would have to wait due to no funds for work.. He advised me that the work is being done so I drove to the house to talk to the person in charge and nobody spoke English. I looked at the removed wood that was on the property and their was no 50 pieces maybe 20? Very suspicious and shady. I asked to see the damaged wood never saw it someone sent pictures of wood and still no 50 pieces, no way to verify who’s wood they we’re showing. The work is completed, I still have no funds as advised them multiple times. Now they are harassing and threatening me that they sue me and Put mechanics lean on the house. That the work should never have been done until the funds were available That’s common sense

I entered into a contract for roof repair with Allied Remodeling Corporation and ********. The amount for the entire roof repair was $10,352.00 and after the work was started additional amount of $7,190.00 was added. Allied underbid the job for whatever reason and then created a entirely new contract. The workmanship was done poorly and my roof continues to leak. The gutters are not attached and water runs down the side of the house.

None of this is true. The customer is lying to get out of paying for his extra charges for the wood replacement and extra layers on his roofing and we have a law suit pending in which we are suing the customer.

On June 9, 2022 **** **** contracted with Allied Remodeling of Central MD, Inc. (Allied) to repair the area of her roof that was leaking into her dining room at **** ***** ***, Baltimore, MD. Dave W*****, walked through the inside of her home to view the spot in the dining room that Ms. **** sought to have repaired and then identified the corresponding outside portions of the roof to cure the leak. The roof repair was completed by Allied on July 20, 2022. However, on September 13, 2022, there was a leak in the same dining room area that had been previously repaired. Ms. **** contacted Allied at that time and a technician was sent out to assess the situation. The technician applied sealant to the area to support Allied’s previous repair. On October 4, 2022, the leak opened up again in the same spot. **** asked Allied to cure. No additional repair was made. Instead, Ms. **** was told that the leak to the dining room was not actually caused by the area that they had repaired and patched, but was actually caused by another area all together. They then informed Ms. **** that if she wanted that area repaired, she would have to pay for it. Though, she had already paid them to repair the area that they initially pointed out as the area that would cure the same issue. Ms. **** had other roofers look at the roof & they all confirm that the repair would not have appropriately cured the issue. Ms. **** would like a refund of the full amount charged for this useless repair. As it has been almost a year since Ms. ****’s original notification to Allied of the issue and from Ms. ****’s original request to Allied to cure, Ms. **** has already contracted with another roofing company to install a new roof and provided them with a substantial down payment for completion. However, the new roofer, will only warrant the roof if they complete all of the roofing work themselves. Return of the Allied funds is necessary to supplement the costs for the new roofer to cure.

First, initially I was giving the cost to have a new roof installed at my home 5825 Diggers Lane Elkridge, MD 21075 of $4999.00. However, when the installers had pulled my roof off I received a text stating the price of my roof was now $7474.00, that was a 2475.00 increase, 50% increase in the cost of the initial price of the roof. I asked if I could have this in writing because I thought the contract covered the cost of some of the roof boards they were talking about. Needless to say, I did not get it in writing and they had taken my roof off. So, in essence I was held hostage to an increase of 50% in the cost of the roof. Once my roof was installed I noticed the left side of my roof was not flat, like the roof was before the installation by Allied Roofing. So, I asked the installers why was the roof up like that and they acted as if they only spoke Spanish and had no knowledge of what I was talking about and could not answer the questions. I called Allied Roofing and no one responded. Allied Roofing and Remodeling in all of their advertisement states you do not pay until you are satisfied. So, I waited until someone responded to my concerns. In good faith I made some payments on the roof However, I received a text email from Paul with Allied Roofing on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 basically informing me if I did not pay the balance of 3124.00 they were going to take legal actions against me. I informed Paul I had submitted the pictures of the roof as requested and had not heard anything from anyone from Allied Roofing. He went on to proceed to tell me that Artie had called me and I had not responded. I informed him that I sent Artie the pictures and was waiting on someone to come and look at my roof because the money was not the issue. The issue was Allied Roofing and Remodeling in their advertisement states a consumer does not pay until they are satisfied. He went on to want to berated me in a text stating that I am saying there's a problem because it is time to pay. I explained to Paul that I just want some response to my roof because I have concerns. So, Paul called me and I answered my phone he states to berate by telling me I had no intentions to pay because now that the roof is on I have some problems. He begun to get loud with me and wanted to insult me. I informed him that I was hanging up the money is not the problem the roof was the problem. He had Artie to call me and schedule a time on Friday to come out to look at my roof. They were scheduled to come between 8 am and 10 am. They were late and they looked at my roof and of course it was not the roof. They told me it was the gutter and flashing and they would fix it at cost of 1150.00. I asked why wasn't this detected at the intital inspection of my roof and when the installers came to install the roof? At this point, I am out of 7474.00 and not good service. As well as being treated in less than a humanely way. I feel as though this was a service designed to cost the customer more money and you are held hostage because you get these inflated prices when your roof has been removed from your home. It's not good business, it's like being robbed as well as bait and switch.

We finished this roofing install on 5/1/23.  We had to replace 27 sheets of plywood on the customer's roof that were rotten.  When plywood is rotted like this, it is a result of years of water damage and a consequence of failure to properly maintain the roof.  We understand these extra charges are unexpected and can certainly emphasize but these extra charges are clearly spelled out in the contract and when we encounter rotted wood, we have to replace it.  On 5/17 we received partial payment of $4,100.00 leaving a balance of $3,374.00.  Then nothing until we received a check for $250.00 on 6/27 leaving a balance of $3,124.00 (now almost 2 months since we did the work).  At this point the customer had not even covered the original contract portion of the amount owed, let alone the extra charges.  We spoke with her on 6/27 about her outstanding balance and for the first time in almost 2 months, we hear that there is now an "issue" with the roof.  We explain to the customer that we will come out and inspect the roof and perform any service that needs to be done but we need to be paid in full at the time of the "service."  From 6/27 until 7/11 our service manager Arthur G**** tried to reach the customer to schedule a time to come out and look at the roof and never received a call back.  The customer called back one time on 7/3 and promised to send Arthur pictures of the issue but never did.  On 7/12 we texted the customer that if we did not hear back from her that the account was going to go to collections.  That prompted the customer to call us back and Arthur scheduled a meeting with the customer for a service appointment for this past Friday 7/14.  It was determined that the issue that the customer has is due to her rotten/swollen fascia boards on the left side of her house.  We gave her an estimate of $1,050.00 to replace these areas, which is our cost and includes no profit.  We have not heard back from the customer to see if that is something she wants to proceed with.

Date & timeline. We signed a contract with the Allied Remodeling of Central Maryland on 9/15/2021. The initial date of work on our property was 11/16/2021. Dispute began on that same day. On 08/31/2022 we filed a complaint with MHIC seeking mediation. On 09/16/2022, the business filed a lawsuit to halt the mediation. On 10/26/2022, the lawsuit was stayed, pending resolution through arbitration. Amount. We have not paid any money to the business. The business has sued us for $15,495.90 plus court costs. Commitment. The contract specified replacement of the entire roof of our townhouse with *** modified rubber roofing material. The work would be compliant with *** manufacturer’s specifications, and would include a manufacturer’s warranty as well as the business’s labor warranty. Nature of the dispute & attempted resolution. On the date of first install and in the months following, we became aware of many issues (detailed in attachments). The manufacturer’s warranty is void because the business is not certified by the manufacturer, as promised. Initially, the business corrected some of our complaints, then offered us a small discount and to warranty the product themselves. The resolution was unacceptable to us because of the many problems that remained unresolved and no confidence in the business’s warranty offer. We have received opinions from two disinterested experts that the roofing system will fail within 2-5 years. We filed a complaint with MHIC seeking no-cost mediation. The business refused to mediate and retaliated by filing a lawsuit against us, forcing our hand to hire an attorney and seek dismissal, in order to pursue the arbitration as provided for in our contract. After multiple attempts to resolve the issues and complete the contract, we now believe the business to be incapable of providing the promised result, and we seek nullification of the contract and reimbursement of costs. Contract number. None.
