I ordered some Men's Pathfinder Ripstop pants and paid for expidited shipping. I called **************** and after hearing that I ordered the wrong size, was transferred to another department. Both ladies I spoke with were very nice and accomodating. I told the last one I spoke with about my issues and asked if they could stop shipping on the first pair and send me the correct size. I was told the pants shipped, but she offered to send out the correct size as well, expidited at no charge. She informed me that when I recieve the pair that are the wrong size to call them to setup a return. I have many other articles of clothing, which are of great quality and they last. I have a goose down vest that I purchased in the 80s which is in great shape for it's age.I will shop with them again.L.L. Bean, Inc.

They do not stand by their products. I bought a very expensive comforter that no longer, after three years, evenly keep me warm. It has lost feathers. I sent it back and was told they only guarantee their products for a year after being encouraged by a Llbean phone agent to return it. In any case, a company that had great customer service can no longer be relied upon to stand by its products. I went through the inconvenience of mailing it back Llbean be told that by a special returns representative that it looks fine to her. It may look fine, but it doesn't function well to keep us warm. I'm disappointed and would caution others not to buy products that they expect to last for years from this company.L.L. Bean, Inc.

Upon further investigation and a discussion with the customer, we agreed to issue her a full refund. A check for $215.10 has been requested.

Same story every year. I get an ll bean gift card for Christmas. Try to order winter clothes and everything is out of stock. Sounds like they need to consider increasing their inventory. I'm sure they sell a lot of gift cards at Christmas . You would think they would maintain an inventory to support them. Then again they already have your money, what do they care. My apologies for not updating sooner.
On 1/17/24, we spoke with the customer. We apologized for his experience.
One of the items he attempted to purchase recently is now available. We offered to assist by overnighting the item to him and placing the second item on a backorder for expected delivery late February.
Having purchased elsewhere, he refused our offer.
He thanked us for our efforts and the call.
We hope to serve him better in the future.

I ordered a bag pack for my daughter and less then a year the side pocket for their drink is ripped. LL Bean asked that I have to send it in to have it review if it's a regular wear and tear or it's due to the defect item. This is ridiculous and inconvenient. Their one year guaranteed should be included replacement any defect item. Please take your money else where. Their products are not like the way it used to be. Cheap and will rip less than a year.L.L. Bean, Inc.

1 starI ordered a jacket for myself and had it shipped to ******* because I was leaving for a few weeks to ******* I put my granddaughters name on it so she would hold onto for me the jacket came while I was there and it ran small I didn't think it was a warm jacket and I didn't care for the quality. I returned it and was told the refund would go back to the card it was charged to. While waiting for the credit to hit my card my granddaughter called and asked if I bought her something from LLBEAN they had sent her a gift card from LLBEAN apparently because she was listed on the label they sent her A Gift card who does that I had to file a complaint and it's now suppose to go back on my card I will never order from them again one the quality and two there systemReview fromrichard h

I have been a customer of ********************** for at least 30 years, and my wife longer -- that is ending here. backing way up - they had a policy of replacement no matter how long and frankly it created a loyalty unrivaled - but i am sure as our country had deteriorated - theft, lying, cheating , the policy had to change -- problem is they went way to far - charging for returns after sending out sub par quality product - is a --- really??? my wife bought 6 dress shirts - spending a fair amount of money -- every single one literally fell apart - tearing like a sipper on creases, button down separating top to bottom. she wanted to return them and i told her no - she is not going to get additional charges (a year or so back i dealt with customer service and found them to be rude and uninformed on there own products) i can get better quality elsewhere with faster turn around, free return and immediate card correctionL.L. We would appreciate the opportunity to discuss and clarify L.L.Beans guarantee, return policy and special conditions.
Our guarantee is not now and never was a lifetime refund or replacement program.
As a business we have always reserve the right to ask questions to evaluate a product. Our goal is to determine if a product failed due to a material/craftsmanship defect or a design flaw vs damage due to an accident or simply excessive use.
We apologize for this customers past experiences. We never want our customers to feel as though we are unwilling to assist them.

ll bean did make an attempt to contact me by phone, i have not for medical reasons been available - were i available i would respond as such --- you also noted a response to bbb re: my stance on ll Bean warranty. I beg to differ with the " executive" - Bean did in fact have a policy of return any condition any time for replacement and I did in fact take advantage of for a heavy parka - a parka I needed for the extreme temperatures i was subjecting myself to. !st one did the job without a c/o but the brush proved to being its undoing, even though some of the group extended its life with repair by indigenous pros. I called LL Bean and they replaced it requesting I return the original - The parka was on its 5th season. On the shirts - I stand by my assessment - they were all way way below quality expected by LL Bean - I also must stand my ground on customer service --- Those shirts were used till they became hazardous in the **** - which was a few weeksReview fromSteve A
