If I could give negative stars on this review I would. Terrible customer service! I have been trying to get a status update on a Prior Authorization for over a week. They keep telling me I will get a call back in 24 hours. Never get a call, ever! Even after I call back. ***** days is the "standard" for approval and there is no one I can escalate the issue to. By the time ***** days have past I will be completely out of medication because you can't even request a refill until you have used up your 75%. Really....***** days for someone to look at the medication that a medical professional prescribed, to have someone at a call center approve or deny it. This isn't a new medication, I have been on it for months, yet need approval each time! They are greedy and just want to take your money and not pay for anything!Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Michigan Response

I went to a participating provider 5 years ago.. I submitted the form and received a small payment from BCBS for the physician fee. Now after all this time, I receive a letter from their recovery department saying that the provider is not in their network and requesting the money back within 30 days. Poor response to privacy concerns. I am a victim of a cyberstalker who somehow got ahold of my historical health information and began harassing me about it. As I investigated my own breach, I was directed by a privacy officer at a hospital to have an audit trail done at BCBSM, as they said BCBSM shares health information through interoperability networks and keeps older records of past billing for procedures and illnesses. I have gotten nowhere with the privacy department at BCBSM, as they don't understand what an "access audit' or "audit trail" is. They are required by HIPAA to keep a record of all employee and non employee access to an individual's health record. If you cannot respond to a member and victim of a cyberstalker's concerns about illegal access to their protected health information, then no patients private health information is safe with BCBSM.Federal law also states that a patient has the right to opt out of the sharing of their PHI, as in they can up out of their historical health information from being pushed through a Health Information Exchange. I was told by BCBSM that they cannot do this, which is not accurate. They can still share limited information for future billing while opting a patient out of sharing of their entire health history.A victim of a cyberstalker should not have to pay for a lawyer to subpoena BCBSM for something that their website claims they take seriously (patient health record security).Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Michigan Response

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan's Blue Cross Rewards program is deceiving at best and a scam at worst. For two years in a row now, I have signed up for the program online, found a "green trophy provider" for the rewardable service of mammogram, had the service provided and waited for my claim to be processed to receive my $50 reward. It has been two months since I had the service, the claim has been processed but no reward has been sent. Like last year, I called customer service to ask about the status and was put on hold for a long time while the representative supposedly worked with web support to "look into" the problem. I gave Blue Cross the benefit of the doubt that I did something wrong last year, but I followed the online instructions to the letter this year, and they are still claiming that the I didn't sign up for the rewards program prior to the service. That is inaccurate. Don't waste your time with this program. Blue Cross Blue Shield does not honor it. You will get nothing for your time other than frustration that they do not honor a program that is supposed to generate goodwill for their subscribers and encourage healthy behaviors.Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Michigan Response

I have been with bobs Michigan for over 15 years. Never had any issues for ***** years but the last 4 have been very frustrating. I have the Blue Cross Legacy **************** had to pay for anything until lately. Every time I go to a doctor we (my husband has the same plan) get a $20-30+ charge. When I call your customer service Im told its because its in excess or its because I have a deductible which I dont or because I go out of state for my doctors and they charge a 15% charge which is wrong because it is stated that BCBS MICHIGAN covers all states.When I talk to a customer service person and Ive talked to many they have all been very nice, they either call the billing department and get it under review or they do it on their end. They tell me it takes AWHILE to get resolved. In the mean time Im still getting bills and no real reason why. There must be a reason but I keep getting different ones. Im tired of having to call every time me or my husband go to the doctor. Is there someone there that knows the answer and make this end once and for all?
