1 star1 star is too high for this so called insurance company but I had to select one to post this review. They don't deserve a star. I have a family history of breast cancer, and they refused to pay for a mammogram - not a 3D one, but a basic mammogram and only one that year. They will do anything not to pay claims and their premiums are simply outrageous.Review fromNicholas C

Be aware that calls are now screened by a foreign representative. I was on the phone today for about one and a half hours. Never did get an answer. I was told someone will call you back. I am both angry and frustrated. Definitely got to look for a new Insurance Carrier. BCBS obviously don't care about their members.Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Michigan

How is a major insurance carrier allowed to provide such horrible assistance with no sense of urgency for insured parties? In 20 years of working HR and benefit administration, I have never seen any other carrier or **** entity with processing times as long, incorrect contracts, billing mistakes well beyond open enrollment transitions, and generally a lack of urgency in fixing anyone's issues as this group. There are individuals who should have been covered for over a month with the wrong plans and accounts incorrectly set up where policy holders can't access their own information or flex funds for distribution. Where is the accountability to insured parties? Where is the care for people needing health and prescription coverage they signed up for? Most importantly, why is this entity allowed to operate in this manner!?Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Michigan

Worst insurance I've ever had by far. They've denied me a Doctor ordered CT Scan. And, my Medication. Their excuse to my Doctor and to me is. Their Medical Team has determined that it's not a necessary procedure and refuse to cover it. And, I got a letter stating that there's nothing Physically wrong with my Brain and what their Unrealistic Medical Team determined. Then why am I having Dabilitating Migraines and getting very Dizzy to the point of not being able to get out of bed? And, then I get 2 letters stating that their Medical Team has determined that it's not necessary for me to be on WEGOVY. And, that I'm not obese and don't have a eating problem. And, that it's not helping me with my High Blood Pressure and Hypertension. I'm 46 years old and 350 lbs and on the brink of being Diabetic. And, I'm eating 7 times a day. The WEGOVY was helping me with my cravings. And, keeping me from eating all day long. And, keeping my Blood Pressure in normal range. But, thanks to your fake a** Medical Team I can't even have that anymore. And, I've lost 50 lbs on it since the beginning of August of 2024. Eveytime my Doctor sends you Prior Authorization Paperwork. You send paperwork back stating that I've been denied. And, some ******** excuse that my Doctor needs to send more information for Medication and Procedures. Then I got a letter today stating that starting January 1st, 2025 they are no longer going to be covering some of my medications anymore. They really don't care that the people on their insurance get the help and medication that they really need. It feels like they only care about getting their money from the person who's paying for their ****************** And, in the end a double middle finger and a F U. I never had this problem when ****** was still available in *****************************************. I think I'm going to have to switch insurance again.Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Michigan

I recently retired and had **** of MI commercial insurance through a large corporation for over 30 yr. I then had to purchase my own insurance and I'm under the age of 65 I had to get my own individual insurance and since I previously had ****, I figured I would stay with them. The prices of individual insurance for a PPO are very high my husband and I are on the same insurance, and it cost us over $1400 a month with a $8000 deductible each. Which I have PAID ($8000) for my deductible for the year due to my high cost of medication. We are both in good health, see a primary once a year and I see a specialty doctor twice a year. I went in November to fill my prescription which most of mine are for 90days. When I went to pick it up it was for only 30 days, I wasn't sure why this would happen when I just had it filled in Aug for 90 days. After several phone calls (4 hours later), and telling them I will be on vacation and out of the country I need my 90-day script sorry, we can't fill it for 90-days after November 1st and for December I can only get a 30-day script? I said why I haven't seen any email or letter stating any of this, they said I'm supposed to read this too you, since you are on an INDIVIDUAL plan you have a new year which means your deductible will start over in January, we can't fill any more 90-day scripts for the rest of the year. I asked was there an email or letter sent to the customers or your just supposed to figure this out on your own. There was no email or letter sent. This is all about the money and not the customer I have never had this happen to me when I had commercial insurance, but now that I'm on an INDIVIDUAL plan I'm penalized. With the amount of money, I'm spending per month and that high of deductible this is unacceptable and no communication to the customer, I'm supposed to spend 4 hrs. on the phone trying to figure it out for myself, while not having medicine when I'm on vacation. I will not go with **** it's all about the money.Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Michigan

Horrible! If I could give them 0 stars I would. Providers that are in network are getting billed out of network, including preventative services. I have spent hours on the phone with them. Only to be told someone would call me back. Guess what- they don't. Stay away from them.Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Michigan

worst insurance coverage I have ever had. They deny coverage of everything. The only way to reach them is by phone which always have long waits. They gave me incorrect information about surgery coverage even though I gave them the billing codes before the surgery. This has resulted in thousand of dollars out of pocket costs due to their customer service person being misinformed.I have had to spend hours on the phone jsut to try to get the coverage that I pay thousands of dollars for. Now the cost is going up again. What a joke! Avoid this insurance at all costsBlue Cross & Blue Shield of Michigan

Spent over $2300. on optional dental, vision and hearing, only to find out after a year that my dentist doesn't accept the coverage and my optical copay was well over $300.00, and I don't need hearing aids. My bad for not understanding. From $168.00 per month to $179.00 per month.Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Michigan
