We had Olson replace a large amount of concrete around our house. For the most part the work was excellent. Unfortunately when I informed them that they left an 8 foot wide rough ridge directly in front of our main entry, they will not return to correct it. I have made several calls to the office who keeps telling me they will fix it, but it has been several months. The salesman, ******************* wont even answer or return my calls. Now when all my family comes for the holidays they will see this ugly, raised, rough line across the landing. Dont do what I did. Hold your payment until the job is completed to your satisfaction. I wish I hadnt paid them.

The public needs to be aware of this prior complaint from 2019. My complaint was within the 1 year warranty period. Concrete heaves every winter when the ground freezes which makes my storm door seize and not open to allow me to get out of my own back door. My door sill cracked under pressure. ***** * *** **** * **************** It was dismissed because ***** did not submit to Arbitration and breached the terms of their contract. I spent several hundreds of dollars and they blew it off. My only recourse was to file in civil court - which I did not pursue. $$$$ I was told by the foreman that the "owner" said there was nothing they could do for me. They simply did not prep and compact the ground properly and poured the concrete even with the top of sill. They did a very nice job on my porch and front side walk has no issues. The down spouts that drain into my front and back yard work fine too. They just blew me off on the back yard work. Did not stand behind their work or the terms and conditions of the written contract. When friends request a reference for cement work I tell them to avoid Olson every time.Olson Cement Works Response

Good afternoon ******, Everyone here at Olson Cement & Construction remain incredibly sorry that you are still unhappy with the work performed at your property, As we discussed previously, the city that you live in requires an inspection of all the prep work before any other work can be completed or before the pour can be done. The city inspector was on site and did inspect all the prep work, forms, layout, compaction, among other requirements and the inspection passed. The city also required a final inspection when the work was complete and that passed as well. We do everything we can to make sure our warranty is clear on what is and is not covered, including going over it with our customers and providing a hard copy before work is done. As with most construction/cement companies in cold weather states, we do not cover heaving / hydrostatic pressure issues that arise from a harsh winter. We, nor any company can control what Mother Nature does. We were and still are more than happy to assist in the required repairs needed but the repairs do not fall under the warranty.Sincerely, The Olson TeamReview from Sylvia S

Olson Cement just completed a basement remodel so that my daughter could move in with me. The Project Manager worked with us so that we could get everything we wanted and he also made helpful suggestions of what materials to get. He was always in communication with us to let us know the next steps and addressed any problem areas. My daughter and I are very pleased with the result and feel that it was good quality for a fair price.Olson Cement Works Response

Olson did a deck and slab patio for us with decorative concrete. I was nervous at first because it was such a detail-oriented job. The deck is an unusual shape and the are we wanted the cement has ground shifting issue due to water (welcome to ***** park). I can't express adequately how please I am with the results. The deck is amazing, and the patio is even better! All of our family and neighbors love how it looks!
