Staff was pleasant to work with. The end product is very nice. Beyond this, project management was very poor, communication and managing expectations very poor. There was no real coordination between contractors and the owner or designer. The right hand didnt know what the left hand was doing, and therefore we had no ability to plan a schedule or know when to be home. Numerous miscommunication of expectations to the sub contractors which delayed the project due to missed details. Overall poor experience and I would not recommend. Thankfully, the product and end result is good, otherwise Id be very angry.

Minnesota Kitchens replaced my old cabinets, countertop and backsplash with showroom quality material and design. Their installers were top notch, and the staff is very helpful and creative. This was during the supply crisis in the economy, and they weathered this difficult process with equanimity. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

We hired Minnesota Kitchens for a big remodel (removed a load bearing wall, new flooring, cabinets, counters, etc.). We did not have a positive experience and hope our review can help others decide if this company is the right fit. Our project went 3 months past their given timeline (6 months total) and throughout the length of the project, we went days without hearing from the project manager, owner or having workers at the house. The customer service we received was abhorrent. Hitting timelines was never a priority. The lack of care or service they showed was appalling - no empathy for missing deadlines, not being able to give timelines or deliver on targets, or working to resolve issues. A major issue we experienced was that we ordered a bench mid-project to match our cabinets and to fit under our dining table. When it was installed, we saw it was too tall and we couldn't fit our legs under the table when sitting on the bench. The owner said (over text) - "it is what it is. Buy a new table" - no trying to resolve the issue or show any care for this major problem. In another text exchange regarding the backsplash tile we ordered and asked to return (due to us changing our mind), the owner admitted he allocated $450 for backsplash tile and “didn’t know how much the tile was when I ordered it” - he spent almost $1500 on backsplash tile without our authorization and when we asked to be reimbursed for the $1000 he overspent without our consent, he text back “Stop being unreasonable.” Ultimately we refused to pay and he paid for the additional money he overspent (the tile was non-returnable, unbeknownst to us, so we lost out $450 there). Our experience was stressful and lacked the customer service we expected to receive. We do not recommend hiring this company for your projects, and if you choose to, we highly recommend documenting every conversation and having written authorization of all charges, including the itemized scope of work before signing.

The turn over of project managers along with work not being completed on time (or ever) was a huge disappointment. I had high hopes from the beginning, but was very let down at the end. Lack of commination on all fronts within the business was disappointing, from design to work times and schedules, we would go weeks without hearing from anyone. We did enjoy working with a couple of the subs and have actually hired those subs to do some other work for us in other areas of the house as we continue to remodel elsewhere. We are completing the other work on our own that wasn't completed.
