1 starI am at the age when I can easily say that I have experienced multiple US bank accounts, credit and loan services for over 25 years. I have worked with nearly every major credit company that there is. I have never had such a horrible experience in all of those years. The first problem, nothing offered for solving problems at all - horrible customer service. They do not process payments in a timely manner. When it takes at least two weeks to post a payment - (and then maybe 8 days) - there are going to be serious issues with unfair fees, overdrawn accounts, unfair credit reports and some extremely angry customers. They want you to let them take payments directly from your personal account. I advise against it. In fact that all of this seems quite on purpose, as US Bank has little incentive to fix the issue at all, given we have no more protection agency to help us. There is no 'running balance' anywhere - not on the statement and not online. You literally have to use a calculator or download to an excel sheet to ensure that their calculations are correct - poor, poor practice. Online assistance is dismal. The agents that chat or talk with you over the phone are unhelpful to say the least and cannot answer a simple question or solve any issues. You cannot resolve problems by contacting them without spending an exorbitant amount of time moving from one person to another. I entered into a zero-percent initial offer with this bank. Normally, I put the date that the offer expires on my calendar to keep track - but you cannot do that either. Thye don't give you a date. It simply says that it ends on "XX-month" statement. OK...?? but there is a date, so what is it exactly? Do not bank with this agency. Thank goodness it was just a credit card. I cannot imagine having to count on this bank for a loan or depositor account! Yes I would like a response form an administrator! -- at least an apology for all of the problems I experienced.Review fromRobert H

1 starI had an account for 4yrs, had balance of 7500$ paid it off after year of interest at 28% then they up my limit to use after taking in interest 300 out of $400 dollar payments, which means only $100 going to principal, my limit went up to $11k I stop using card for almost a year, they dropped my limit from 11,500 to 500, just when I was about to use the card two weeks prior, they money hungry and was willing to increase my limit back that I had because I didn’t use my 11,5 in almost a year, so I ask for reinstated was denied so I canceled the card, horrible company!Review fromLacie O

1 starThey have closed my accounts with no reason and provided absolutely no justification for doing so. They froze my assets and did not bother telling me until after I started getting payment reversal notification. I do not know how this is legal and am definitely contacting an attorney. I have great credit and make payments on time or ahead of time and have for many years.Review fromMichael C

1 starI was denied a camper loan by US Bank even though my credit scores are above 800. Stated that information received from credit bureau inclined them to deny my credit application. I suspect and believe it was due to my age! I was thinking age discrimination was against federal laws. Regardless, I will never bank at this institution and do my very best to inform anyone else about these crooks and advise them to steer clear.Review fromBrady K

1 starCustomer service NO MORE! As a former employer I am shocked to see the level of service now offered by US Bank. Branch level you have to wait because they have down staffed. Cannot walk in without registering online. Credit card accounts just got notice they were raising my APR to 31.94%. Additionally I paid my accounts in full recently and they put a 7 day hold on the payment. Long term customer. Previous employee. Multiple established accounts. Never late. Screwed over by APR and payment holds. To make matters worse you get a foreigner when you call and ask for service. Obviously not really US bank! Beware. I am likelly moving all my accounts due to the poor service levels.Review fromAlven C

1 starStockton, CA U.S.Bank W. Washington St. I have visited this bank twice, once to "purchase" a money order, the other was I just needed a quarters to complete my household chores. On both occasions, I was asked if I had an account there, I told her no but my Mother did, why? I will need her account number before I can help you, I'm nowhere near "young" and in my entire lifetime have I ever been told in a bank that I would need an account number to get a roll of quarters, or to purchase a money order, even a Wal-Mart will help you. Explain something to me if you can intelligently, banks are a business, they work on the first line of "customer service" and attract and retain your current as well as any hopeful new business. So, if you can't even supply a money order or trade bills for quarters unless the "potential" customer "already" has an account, duh, where's the logic. It's not surprising U.S. Bank has a mediocre or lower rating.Review fromJames E

1 starI have been attempting since January 2025 to get a reaffirmation agreement for my mortgage through them and they keep giving me the go around. They keep telling me it’s been sent to me (which it hasn’t). And they keep saying that they are putting in another request for it which will take 4-6 weeks. US bank gave me the number to THEIR attorney who writes the contract. And when I spoke to the attorney they told me the reaffirmation has not been sent to me since they are waiting for US bank to send them the loan documents. They’re extremely disorganized and everytime I call they give me a different explanation. You have to document every interaction with US bank or they won’t even do what they said they would. It’s now May 5th 2025 and I still don’t have the reaffirmation agreement. Because of their negligence this could affect my future with my home. I can’t refinance or pull out equity because they’re so disorganized.Review fromIllya T

1 starThe worst of the worst They blocked my account because they couldn’t verify that account that I paid from, belongs to me. Representative that I spoke to, was rude, disrespectful and when I told him that I can’t hear him, sounded like he was talking from a toilet, he suggested that I should reach out to my phone provider, even though it was clearly an issue on his end. NNEVER AGAIN!!!
