Have contacted Cfmoto directly, and they are directing me to the dealer who is directing me back to Cfmoto about warranty paperwork or proof.Business response
09/04/2024
The customer will need to provide additional information as to what the concern is. The last warranty record in the system is a claim from 9/15/23. This claim was denied because the failure resulted from damage during operations, not a manufacturer's defect. If the customer has subsequently brought the unit in for other work, we would need a claim entered in the system to evaluate. At this time, the unit has been out of warranty since 6/7/2024. If there are further details that would support that a manufacturer's defect occurred during the warranty period, a CFMOTO dealer would need to input a claim for evaluation. I cannot see what discussions may have occurred outside of the warranty so please provide more details. I'm not sure what paperwork CFMOTO would be providing. Please detail what you would be looking for here. Dealerships create the claims, adding pictures and supporting comments for the warranty team to consider as they make their decisions to approve/deny.Initial Complaint

bought a cfmoto uforce 1000xl. the speedometer is off by 8mph and higher, along with the odometer reading more then it should. for every 1 mile it will be 1.3 on the uforce. my dealer has tried fixing the issue a few times with no luck. the last attempted made was replacing the dash. witch now has caused the uforce to lose the millage and hours. both now show 0, in long time it hurts the resale value here in the state of ********. after the last attempt in repairing its still not fix. was advised by the dealer that CF MOTO knows about the issue and there is no fix. and that they are allowed to be off due to European laws. last time I checked we are in the ***. with the speedometer being off can and will cause a safety issue. I've tried reaching out to CF MOTO with no luck or help. all im asking is this to be fix.Business response
08/05/2024
We understand that the customer has concerns over the speed shown on the speedometer. Lets clarify that speedometers of this type (car and powersports) are not expected to have the precision they may be looking for. Even auto manufacturers use a standard that allows significant variability (5mph variance at 50mph). CFMOTO and the dealer went beyond what we normally would to replace two parts in an effort to establish there was nothing wrong with the unit. Speed measurement is quite complex.
There are many potential areas for variances. For example, the surface the unit is driven on - blacktop vs sand or dirt, tire pressure, load on the vehicle, tire wear, changes to tire size, etc.
There are not any known problems with this speedometer. The expectation that it meets a radar gun level of accuracy fails to consider the many variables above and is not reflected in any powersports industry standards. The dealer is in agreement with CFMOTO on this issue and considers their work complete.

I am rejecting this response because:
as due part. if you get pulled over by the police for doing 8miles over you simply cannot advise the police, sorry per CF moto my speedometer is off and its ok that will not hold up in court. at 65mph speedometer reads 74mph on blacktop on a roadway not in sand or dirt. and the fact the Millage accumulates more than it should, will cause the customer more money out of there pock if they follow the service by ******* as it's not true Millage on the odometer. also, the fact here in the state of ******** I now have to label the title as unknow due to the milage and hours being reset to zero. I'm not here to fight or ask Cf moto buy back their equipment. all I'm asking as to make this whole and repair or fix the issue. I truly love my Uforce. and would like to work with CFmoto to come to agreementBusiness response
08/12/2024
As I noted earlier, all speedometers will have a variance. That variance is required to read faster than the vehicle is actually moving. This is to avoid situations as you described.
My notes about the video you submitted were that the unit showed it was going 45mph and a GPS unit measured it moving at 39mph. That's what is required in terms of the direction of the variance. For off-road vehicles, there is no US regulatory body that has set a standard for speedometers. That's why CFMOTO uses a widely accepted international standard. That standard is a 10% variance plus 3.7mph. So, at the 39mph you reported on your GPS, that would equal 39mph+(3.9+3.7)=46.6mph limit to the displayed speed. Your unit showed 45mph which is within the standard. There is no defect in the unit and these findings are normal. No further action is required.
The other significant observation is that CFMOTO manufactures and sells off road products not designed for on road use. While individual communities may allow ORV's to be used on public roads, CFMOTO does not manufacture on-road vehicles and recommends only using our products as designed for off-road purposes. This is the same as the vast majority of ORV's sold in the US.
We consider this matter to be closed as the unit is operating as designed.

I am rejecting this response because:
As that *** be true to the speed Variance. Let's now talked about the Odometer being reset zero. My machine was given back to me with zero miles on it in zero hours. Therefore, if I ever to resell this vehicle, I have to note the odometer discreptency. Interns, that hurts the resale value of my vehicle. As I spoke with The state of ********, i'm now must mark it on my title. When I go to sell that the odometer is incorrect.Initial Complaint

We are sorry to hear that you had an incident riding your CFMOTO product. The information you provided is not enough for us to conduct a full inquiry into what happened with your vehicle.
Please provide the dealership name that you purchased the unit through as well as the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) which should be on your paperwork. If the issue is in fact determined to be due to a manufacturer's defect, we will determine the best path forward at that time. CFMOTO dealerships are our partners in selling and servicing CFMOTO products. CFMOTO must be involved in any determination of a manufacturer's defect and approve of any solutions provided under warranty.
Once you provide the dealership and VIN, we will get to work on determining what happened.
Thanks,
CFMOTO

On April 23rd we purchased a Uforce 1000 from Tri County Cycle dealership (******************************************************). They delivered it to our property on the same day. 3 days later while going down a trail, the tire arms and ball bearings broke. Tri County Cycle was unable to pick it up. We tried loading it on a trailer but it wouldn't move. We were finally able to find a tow truck that was able to get it out and delivered to Tri County Cycle. In the tow truck drivers professional opinion, it was a manufacturing problem, not an operator problem. The dealership was able to diagnose the issue and reach out to CF Moto but the claim for warranty repair was denied repeatedly. They are telling us they don't know when they are going to get the parts. The issue should be covered under warranty as described by the dealership. We do not agree with the CFMoto's refusal to cover the 90 day warranty. Now we have to continue paying for equipment we do not have possession of and have no idea when we will get it back. Why sell something knowing you don't have the ability to deliver parts? This customer service is unacceptable. Why pay $14,000 for something that breaks in 3 days, $150 for a tow truck driver, then we have to wait months for parts, just to pay another $2,500 for the repair? When calling and emailing CFMoto the warranty department has refused to speak with us and explain their decision and lack of commitment to their warranty.Business response

The initial assessment from our Technical Representatives was that this failure was due to an impact (i.e. the unit hit something) rather than normal operations. The descriptions in the customer's note just states that they were riding down a trail. This would not cause such a failure. The dealership notes says that the customer told them they went over a hump. Again, this is not something that would cause such a failure alone. It would be good to get a full and detailed description of what exactly happened (road surface, speed, obstacles present, did the unit hit something, etc.) that they feel caused this.
Our Tech Reps have decades of experience in reviewing claims to determine what causes any given failure. This limited set of information pointed them to evaluate it as an impact related failure which is not a manufacturing defect which would be covered by the warranty. If the customer provides additional details, we could further consider that as part of our evaluation.

I am rejecting this response because:
Thank you for responding. We would happily have given a more detailed account of what occurred, had we been asked by CFMoto or the dealership. I'm sure this is an easy way to refuse any warranty claim.
We were riding down a trail (that has humps because it's a trail), Going approximately ***** mph, the vehicle went over a hump and slammed to a halt. The front left tire was sitting at an odd angle and the vehicle could not be moved. Your product is marketed to have "The combination of a front and rear double wishbone independent suspension with double-row tapered roller bearings and variable pitch hydraulic spring shocks enables you to handle rough terrain" ********************************************************************. Which should have no issues driving down a trail with humps.
We believe the initial issue was a manufacturers error and moving the vehicle to the dealership would've caused any additional damage that would make it appear to be caused by impact.
I'm sure your tech reps have plenty of experience. We tried speaking with them in order to better understand the decision but were denied that option. As well as the option to provide a more detailed explanation of the event.
Thank you again for responding and allowing us to further explain the event.Business response

Thanks for the additional details. Based on the description of what you were driving the vehicle on, there should be no reason the unit would fail in that manner. We just do not see that failure under those circumstances. Was there previous use of the vehicle, even on a previous day prior to this incident, where the unit may have impacted something and/or landed hard which may have weakened these components? At the end of the day, the warranty covers repairs needed due to a manufacturers defect vs something that broke due to mis-use or abuse. I will ask my team to review this again with the dealership to include having the broken part further analyzed to determine if a specific defect in that part is found.
CFMOTO, as all powersports manufacturers do, uses a network of independent dealerships to sell and service our vehicles. Those dealerships serve as our points of contact with customers. They are seeing these units firsthand. Our Technical Support team is there to assist the dealership's ****************** with correct diagnosis and advise on service matters. We trust and rely on them to communicate directly with the customers.
I understand this is very frustrating, especially with a new vehicle. We see all types of incidents, to include people who damage their vehicle within 5 minutes of use. I'm not accusing you of anything like this. Just that because of that, we need to carefully review each claim and find the specific evidence of the defect that caused the failure. We will work with the dealership here review the situation and determine any changes to our decision.

I purchased a brand new UTV, 0 miles, on January 20. 2024. From Columbia powersports in Comlumbiw SC. We didn't get to ride it until March. We put 27 miles on it and it starting making a very loud, banging sound from the engine area. It sounds like a drivetrain backlash issue, it feelss like someone is literally hitting the seat with a hammer and shakes the shifter. I took it to a local authorized dealer.m, SRS Motorsports. They looked it over, and could not duplicate the sound, but cfmoto said that it would be normal sounds. I took it back to Columbia powersports, where I bought it. They actually heard the noise. They called the manufacturer and was told it was normal, although the dealer thought it wasnt normal. Please keep on mind I bought it 3 hours from home and the local dealer is 1 hour away. I made a video including they very loud and obviously abnormal noise. So I sent the video to both the local dealer and the one I bought it from and a total of 4 people *** technicians said that the noise is NOT NORMAL. So now I took it back to the local dealer along with the video also. The local dealer, SRS Motorsports, called the manufacturer again only to get the dlsame answer, ITS NORMAL. I have been fiding these machines for 40+ years and have never anything like this. The manufacturer WILL NOT talk to the consumer about the machine I purchased. I put$3000 down and financed thr $8200. As of now I have stopped payment on the loan until it gets fixed. I either want a replacement or a refund or repair. Never buy a CF MOTO machine.Business response

I bought a 2022 Zforce 500 on 5-11-23 from Americas Motorsports in ************. I bought the extended 5 year warranty. The motor started making a metal on metal noise. I took it back to the Dealership and they stated CF Moto warranty denied it due to dust around the air filter. I have maintained the machine with regular maintenance per the owners manual. There is metal all throughout the motor now. 1250 miles and 75 hours on the machine that I bought brand new.VIN *****************Business response

After review of this complaint via the information provided from the dealership to include the warranty claim submitted as well as the pictures that accompanied the complaint, it was determined that the correct decision was made in denying this claim. The Service team knows the signs of dirt being ingested into the engine which is a driver of catastrophic failure of the engine. Dirt entering the engine is not due to a manufacturer's defect and no evidence of a manufacturer's defect was provided to CFMOTO. The vehicle warranty, as with all manufacturers, covers defects in manufacturing or materials.

This unit is a 2021 model year that is about 16 months beyond the end of the warranty period.
In order to evaluate any goodwill for this unit, the dealer would need to take the unit it and determine exactly what is wrong and contact CFMOTO to discuss any assistance. Without this, we cannot assess if any unit may be eligible for goodwill assistance for a repair.

We bought a cfmoto 1000 Side-by-side in October its new off the showroom the machine quit and we took to dealer they said it needs a new motor we have had all the service work done and now they won't warranty the work they tried to say it was abused or layed over which never happened it only has 1000 miles on it and has had problems since we bought itBusiness response
03/25/2024
After review of the warranty claim, it was found that the vehicle showed signs that it had ingested dirt and/or water which can lead to catastrophic damage in the engine. This is not due to a manufacturing defect so it was properly denied coverage. Several places in the manual refer to operating in water no higher than bottom of the floorboards. This is so water/dirt do not enter the engine where they will cause significant damage. The signs of dirt/water ingestion are typically clear and consistent for the Technicians to find. We'd recommend that you continue to work with your local dealer to get the unit repaired to full operating condition.

CFMOTO has to take the best information available to us as we troubleshoot. The physical evidence on the unit itself points to the fact that the unit has ingested **********. If there are other scenarios as to how the water/dirt entered the engine, they have not been presented to us for evaluation. No defects have been shown to exist at this time.

Bought side by side in February 2023. Motor blew up and needs replaced. Motor went out in June 2023, with less than 50 hours on it. It has been at the dealer waiting on parts for 6 months. Cf Moto says they can't tell me when the parts will show up contact the dealer. The dealer says the manufacturer just says they are back ordered. I want my side by side repaired under warranty, like they offered or replace it with a new one. 6 months of waiting for parts on a new item is not what I expected.Business response

We apologize for the delay in getting back to you. It appears that the part that was on backorder has arrived and the claim shows as completed in our system.
Thanks for your patience as we worked to obtain that part as soon as we could.
We hope you have years of enjoyment with your 800 Trail!

A couple of weeks before Christmas 2023, I purchased (2) CF Moto 110cc's from **********************************. Upon loading the units at purchase, noticed that the blue one had a slight looser chain , rust settled on the exhaust and axel, maybe from condensation. That was not a concern for the fact we purchased brand new from a dealer that extended warranty. We had less than 75 miles on the unit and the chain started slipping. I googled how to make adjustments to the chain. I read there should have been a tool kit given at time of purchase. When I took off the seat looking for a tool kit, I noticed the air cleaner (welded Brackets to frame) were broke. I called the dealer and inquired about what to do about the welds busted and the chain loose. I was advised to bring the unit in for inspection. The dealer stated that the broken welds are NOT part of my warranty and that the unit needed an oil change service. I gave permission to tighten the chain and to do a service. I do not understand why the company would not stand behind damage to the frame. Please advise on warranty for welding the brackets. Thank you, ***************************** ************ cell. *************************Business response

I'm sorry to hear that you have had these issues with your product. Upon review with the warranty team here, we have covered that repair in the very small number of cases we have seen it. I've asked that the team here contact the dealer and let them know this welding repair will be covered. They should contact you to make arrangements. We appreciate your business and hope you have years of fun on your CFMOTO!
