      Rude, unprofessional and unhelpful staff, no matter the customer. Opaque, discretionary fees. Poor value for money. Obvious SEO and fake reviews by the company to cover their tracks. Avoid at all costs.

      Over priced units, ************ will change pricing on you frequently. They know once you have moved in the storage unit they can raise the pricing as much as they want and like to say they are like hotels, You can be a customer for years and that makes no difference to them. I recommend looking for different company if it all possible. There is cheaper storage rentals out there than this company. I had over 12 years of renting from this company for my business and moved everything out to another company with better pricing and units.

      Ive been a customer (a filmmaker by profession) at ********************** Mini Mart (Hells Kitchen area, **********************************************) since August 2015. Aside from a couple of complaints (which I have posted on Yelp and wrote directly to the ** of the previous owner and complained tio the Better Business Bureau), Ive been more or less satisfied with their improved service and staff. However, ever since they changed owners (Storage Mart) in 2021 or 2022, it has been DOWNHILL.1. SECURITY: Before we had a key card to access entrance, **************. Very secure. However, Storage Mart got RID OF ALL THAT; now there's only one key code for the entrance and THAT'S IT. Now anyone could get in (and weve had a homeless problem in that area before), so it's a big concern since fellow filmmakers who rent this place to secure and safely store our very expensive equipment. 2. **CESS: It was always open, 24 hours a day/7 days a week. However now they close on holidays. Not just the office, but storage access too! Ridiculous for people like us as we may have to work through these holidays... and I heard they're considering getting rid of the 24 hours access (according to a couple of staff)???? COME ON! People in our business maintain odd hours during production, so having 24 hour/7 day weekdays are essential.3. ** TEMPERATURE CONTROL: Last few weeks, feels like the ** has been turned off, and I'm sweating getting my equipment. In the hottest time of the year! One of the reasons I came here is the promise of ** maintained temperature, especially for sensitive production equipment. But after I finally complained to a staff member today (Aug 27), he told me the temperature has been raised to 77 degrees, including the office! It's hotter than outside (which is 70 degrees) !!! I know Storage Mart is trying to save money, but not at the expense at our comfort and security levels! No wonder I see a lot more EMPTY STORAGE SP**ES lately.

      I buy abandoned storage units and every time I buy one from a storage Mart facility. It takes weeks and alot of hassle to get my deposit back. Even though I have always left unit completely empty and swept out. Very unprofessional rude people when you call asking about your deposit. Terrible company to deal with. Matter fact I will not be doing business with any more

      Went from $70 to $96+. January '23 saw it shoot to $115+. May of '23 it's $123+ What's up with THAT?? It's a flippin 5x10. Website advertises it's still $70 for a 5x10. This isn't just the cost of doing business!! It's a BOX for goodness sake!! You can be sure I'll be outta your vicinity as soon as I can be!! BTW - I think I may have been late once or twice since I started, but autopay has your hands in my bank account AT THE STROKE OF MIDNIGHT + 1 SECOND!! Just wish there were honest people in honest corporations anymore - not ripoffs corruptly hiding behind '*********" and slick contract shenanigans to steal from their own neibors!! Horrible RIPOFF! They don't even provide a dumpster onsite!

      I would happily review with zero stars if I had the ability to. I rented a storage unit from this location in ****** ******* BEFORE Storage Mart took over. My rent for a 10x15 non-climate controlled unit was originally $95 under a special with the previous company. When Storage Mart took over my rent became $190. This month I went to pay early online and noticed my invoice stated $213. My unit size has not changed at all. But dont worry, there was some lovely vandalism in my unit when I first moved my things in that still has not been fixed.I reached out by email twice, stated my preference for email/text due to my busy schedule, and was reached out to by phone anyway. And only ever at the end of the day so I was unable to call back in time. A few days later I somehow finally managed to get ahold of ****, the regional manager. My phone call with him was useless. The regional manager was condescending and purposefully unhelpful. I asked what upgrades have been made to justify a rent increase since Storage Mart took over, and he refused to provide specifics when I asked multiple times. He also accused me of having late fees on my account, which is incorrect and I was able to prove quickly as I keep detailed records of everyone Ive spoken to with this embarrassment of a company. **** also made it clear that this is how businesses work as if I am not fully aware of corporate greed. He interrupted me multiple times as I was speaking, and blatantly ignored my questions to speak over me. I do not believe he would have spoken to me in such a way had my father or another man called instead, but **** can take that up with his preferred religious entity.Storage Mart took over my storage unit just to increase rent. This company is a scam at best. The same exact unit I have is being listed for $140 a month on their own site when they increased my rent, as an existing customer, to $213.

      *************************** Manager was rude to me when I asked for a plastic bag to carry a coat. ******* the manager handed me a $10 garment bag & said nothings free here. I said I just wanted an old plastic bag and she laughed at me. I am on disability. 2 days later I got an email saying my unit went up from $65 to $123. It was 56 plus $10 ************** new bill was 112 plus **************** said I have 15 days to pay it or get late fees. They assured me it wasn't a mistake. I recieved a $20 rent increase & an over charge a year ago when Storage Mart bought it. STORAGE MART has terrible service people, took away free storage taxis & have insane price hikes. Dozens of reviews share this complaint. I feel they raised my rent 50% as personal ****************** told them it is illegal to just give me 15 days notice of the raise. When I called her coworker he said ******* didnt double my rent cause of the bag - a redflag that they remembered me.******* refused to give me 30 days & told me to get a cheaper unit at another unit a mile away. I told her I was disabled & showed her proof & need a unit close to Me & have no way to move it a mile & can't afford to move out. I demand 60s days notice or a reasonable $10 increase or I will get a lawyer cause they told me only a small pool got a 50% increase. Well I got an increase last year & have been w/MMini Storage a decade. This is personal retaliation for asking a question & being treated rudely. No regional managers have returned my calls.

      Storage Mart has been unable to process my monthly payment for 4 straight months. Ive called them to pay over the phone but no one answers. Theyve sent me one-time payment links 4 times via email that have been expired every time I click on the link to pay my balance. The worst part is that they keep charging me late fees and threatening to auction off my unit for this when its they whos refusing to take my money to pay off the balance! Its out of control bad.

      I rented a unit from StorageMart for several years. Unfortunately, my credit card number changed and I forgot to contact StorageMart. They attempted to contact me while I was on an online business meeting, so I could not take the call. Immediately afterwards, I contacted them twice, both no one answered. I have several credit cards, and simply did not remember that the card I was using had been changed. Eventually I got in touch with StorageMart and learned what the problem was. It was only the 14th of the month. I was disappointed to learn that they were now assessing significant penalty charges. Of course they reponded that its in the lease. For that reason, I gave my 14 day notice, and will close the unit. Requiring 14 days notice is not standard in this industry. Other storage units I've used, including ********, ***** ****, and Life storage allow you to close a contract the day before the new month begins. I choose not to ever do business with a company such as this. In the old days, a company with such poor customer service policies could do what they want because customers had no way to tell others about the policies and bad experiences. This review would not have been necessary if they would have the locations answer the phone, but they don't. The review would not have been necessary if they did not assess such signifcant charges.. 70% increase because I was late 20 days? ****. The review would not have happened if they would have texted me, but StorageMart will not text! Storage Mart should get with the times, I get text from lots of other companies. By the way, the woman at corporate who I spoke to was very nice, and even agreed to ask management if they would waive the charge if I stayed with them. I explained I'd rather pay more and use a company more concerned with customer service BEFORE i threaten to leave.
