    Better Business Bureau is advising consumers to use caution when considering doing business with Renovate Rite.  BBB has received a pattern of consumer complaints alleging failure to start or finish a project, failure to contact consumers, failure to provide refunds and poor customer service.  

    On April 14, 2022, BBB sent a letter to Renovate Rite with its concerns.  The company did not respond.

      I hired this company to build a patio, following a tornado claim last Fall.************************* Breached contract several times, however, promised to begin work the day after Mothers Day 2022, following a negative review from me. In return, I was to remove my negative review.It has been 3 weeks, and still no show. He took 6k of my insurance money from our tornado damage and hasnt returned a *****.My wife has recovered from 2 major surgeries, covid and the loss of her mother. She cant even sit outside because the damaged patio is unstable and I am concerned for her safety.

      DO NOT HIRE RENOVATE RITE! They are fraudulent and not to be trusted. In brief, I need a new deck and decided to go to the 2022 STL Home and Garden show to look at what is available. We went to the Renovate Rite booth and decided they would be a viable choice.March 08th, 2022, my wife and I met, in my house, with Renovate Rite Sales Representative, **** *****. We discussed what we wanted and agreed on a price of $20,786.00 for the project. Estimate # ****** was written up and electronically signed by ******* ***** and me. Per our agreement check, number **** for $10,393.00 was given to **** in good faith. The check was cashed on March 11, 2022.After not hearing anything for three weeks, we called for an update. We called our sales representative **** and left two messages. We also contacted their business number *************) and received an automated message, "I'm sorry, but the person you called has a voicemail box that has not been set up yet." **** finally called us back and redirected us to ******* *****. ******* did call on Friday, March 25th, 2022, during our only conversation, he stated a contractor would be out "in the next few weeks to take final measurements and give an exact timeline." We have tried to contact Renovate Rite by phone, email (***************************************) and registered mail to two addresses associated with the company. One was delivered. The other, to the business address on my paperwork, has been forwarded to another address.As of Friday, May 13th, 2022, no one has contacted us by phone or email. As stated above our attempts to contact the company have been ineffective:I noticed that RENOVATE RITE has been in business a brief two years. Most recently in that time there have been numerous negative customer reviews for ********************** cited on ************* Buildzoom and others. All of which echo my experiences and frustrations.

      I signed a contract in Aug of 2021, at that time RenovateRite has a very good rating. I gave ************************* the benefit of the doubt and plenty of time to get the job started and never happened. I have asked him to give me my money back and no response. He does not return my calls or text, mail box is full. I drove to both of his office locations to find them vacant. Luckily I put money down on my Discover card to get job started and was able to recover all but 6K ( two checks for 3k for special order siding - was a little suspicious at the time of writing them but understood reason he gave me). He told me he was having trouble getting slandered by someone and was tied up with lawyer and legal issues back on March 21, 2022. He said he had my NextStone samples and was going to bring them by and never did. March 30, 2022 he said he had to let office admin go for not answering the phones for month of Jan and I found out that was a lie as well and he owes her 4 paychecks. April 1, 2022 was my last contact with ******* and he apologized for delayed response, said he was trying his best to get to everyone. I tried to contact him again on April, 5th, 6th 12th, 19th, 22nd, 26th, 28th, 29th, May 2nd and still no response. I understand being behind on the jobs but taking peoples money and not responding to texts make us feel like we are being scammed - and looks likes we were, maybe not intentionally but we were. Contacted his Sales Manager ***********************, who now works for someone else, and he kept telling me to contact *******, but said he thought he was still in business. I have given ******* multiple days to respond before going to BBB and still no word from him. They were a legit business but apparently he could not run it. *******, if you read this, please refund me the $6,000 you took form me and I hope you can get your business back on track, but until then make things right with us whom you took a lot of money from and pay those who you owe backpay to.

      We hired Renovate Rite in September to build a patio cover. We were pleased with the work we had seen, and they had all good reviews at that time. We were told the job would not start for approximately 12 weeks. Beginning of February the project manager came out and measured the job. The end of February Renovate Rite charged us via the third party finance company the whole cost of the job $17196.00. It is now May, we have reached out to ******* at Renovate Rite a multitude of times and get no answer, no return text, or email. We have driven by the old office and the new office and both are empty. He did send a message a few weeks ago with excuse after excuse as to why things were not getting done. We have since requested a refund and cancellation of our contract.

      Signed contract September 19, 2021 with Renovate Rite (*************************) giving him a deposit of $7824. ***** supposed to have been completing a 15x19 framing for ***** style patio cover over my existing deck, vaulted soffit ceiling, architectural roof system, gutters/downspouts, wiring, mounts for two fans and tv, can lights, white underdecking ceiling system, and clean up debris (PRICE LISTED IS ALL INCLUSIVE) . ***** never came to my residence to start the project. I have called and texted him and finally spoke with him three months later when I went by his place of business. ***** told me he went to the bank and was unable to withdraw the money and would have the $7824 the next day. ***** was provided my wife's cash app, negative results. I continued attempting to make contact with ***** by phone, text and going by his place of business, and ***** isn't answering my calls or text messages and here it is May 2022 and ***** have not attempted to resolve this problem. I have a copy of his business license City of ****************, ** ******** his address on the business license is ****************************************************, business license expires on June 30, 2022. I have a copy of documents.

      I hired Renovate Rite to install a covered patio and used their recommended financing through Power Pay in Oct of 2021. In February after trying to get status on my project for months we put a bad review on ******** and instantly got a reply from ************************* (Owner) he said he would let us out of the contract and cancel my loan. He said he would contact power pay and return my loan funds he accepted. It has been a few months and he still hasn't paid the loan money back. His company has not even measured my project but has taken over 25K out of my loan. I would like ************************* to refund my money to power pay so my loan can be canceled.

      Hired Renovate-Rite to install a covered patio in April 2021 which was to be completed by September of 2021. Never ending excuses for delays. Provided them over 12K for the project and now it is over a year after signing contract and still ******** cover. Unable to reach anyone at the business. Found afterwards that they have been in legal trouble in the past under a different company name Home Improvement Select.

      We contracted with Renovate Rite to build an addition onto our home. In May 2021, we gave a check for $89,172 to buy materials. After getting permits from the City (of Manchester), the next step was to submit an application for permits from St. Louis County. This was submitted on July 21, 2021 by ******************************* at Renovate Rite.On July 22, 2021, St. Louis County contacted ****************************************** for an HVAC and truss plan in order to get the permit but Renovate Rite never submitted these plans. ******************* us that the county was holding up our permit and we couldn't go forward until we had the ok from the county. To this day, nothing has happened.After we contacted the County this past April (2022) to get answers, they said that Renovate Rite had never submitted the required plans to get a permit, so we requested a refund from H. *********************** and *************************. They haven't responded and haven't refunded our $89,172.Also, as we were waiting for the permit to come through the County, Renovate Rite never gave us any updates and we were the ones contacting H. ***********************, the self-professed co-owner, for any information. ***** seemed to be stalling and giving excuses when all the while, nothing was being done to retain the necessary permits to start our construction project. It felt like Renovate Rite never intended to do the project after we discovered what was happening from the County. We are seeking a full refund of our capital.

      Signed a contract last October for a four seasons room. Put down $8000. Said it would start in next six months. Checked back in Dec just to see progress. ***** responded and had to check with project manager. Said someone would reach out. No answer. Called again, Someone finally came to measure in February. Told me then it would be another month. Attempted to contact again in March. Weeks without response. Finally received response back via phone. Told me issues with crew and office staff. Gave me a list of what they were waiting on via text. Told me 3-4 more weeks. Tried to contact again, multiple times and ways. Answer machine machine full and wont respond to texts or calls. Ive asked for a refund of my deposit. Extremely frustrated.

      On March 18, 2022 I went to the Saint ******* Police Station to report company Renovate Rite for stealing $1217.00 a deposit I gave them for a deck project to replace structural post and other items to restore my homes current deck. While at the police station I reported that I was trying to get a hold the company for the entire week with no luck. After leaving the police station I continued to research on my phone to find anything that would help me. I found a text message exchange I had with ******* an employer for Renovate Rite PH# ************ email: **********************************************. I sent ******* a text message March 18, 2022; Good evening *******. I have attempted to contact the company phone number but seems to be offline. I was surprised to receive a text back from ******* on March 20, 2022. He apologized and asked what can he do for me. (I have all the text messages). I let ******* know I received military orders and have lost confidence in Renovate Rite to do the service. ******* responded with; we can refund your deposit. *******, requested I remove a bad review. I said I would update the review once I receive my refund. I asked *******, how long would it take for me to receive my refund. ******* responded, only a day or two, possibly today but more realistically tomorrow sometime. March 21, 2022. I sent ******* a text to see if they have had a chance to complete my refund. NO REPLY. March 23, 2022. Forward same text from March 21, 2022. Received text working on arranging refunds for a couple folks, including yourself. Hang tight for me. March 28, 2022. I sent a text again to ******* and received NO REPLY. March 29, 2022. I requested an update. NO REPLY.
