Better Business Bureau is advising consumers to use caution when considering doing business with Dot Com Products. BBB has received a pattern of consumer complaints and customer reviews alleging defective products, failure to deliver orders, failure to provide refunds, failure to accept returns from consumers, consumers claim they are charged monthly for an unauthorized membership, unsolicited emails, failure to remove consumers from the email list and poor customer service.
On May 17, 2023, BBB sent a letter to Dot Com Products. On May 17, 2023, the company responded. The company states, “We have taken steps to enhance our website, rectify any issues raised by customers, and enhance the quality of our products.” They also stated they have made changes in their organization. They have opened three warehouses across the United States which help with the delivery times. They have also expanded their call center to handle customer inquiries more efficiently.

It seems that others have experienced the same problem I have encountered. Please help me to resolve this situation. I don’t even understand how this entire T-shirt subscription was originated. I will gladly return the T-shirt, but I need my money refunded, and whatever this claimed monthly subscription is cancelled immediately.Business response

This company provides a phone number ************** that has a recording stating the the number is no longer in service. This comes up after going thru the prompts. I called to cancel my order and this is what I went through trying to get a hold of someone. The minute I ordered this product and entered my credit card information, it was completed and I started receiving all these texts for other products and one said I was going to be charged $20 a month to buy more of their products. I immediately called my credit card company to dispute any charges. This company is very deceiving.Business response

I am sorry to hear you had some trouble getting a hold of us. We did have a phone line go down 1/7/22-1/9/22 but that has now been resolved. The text you received was just a receipt letting you know of the Membership you purchased. I have gone ahead and canceled and refunded your order.

- actions span multiple dates in 2021 - This business is routinely sending unsolicited emails with various sender addresses containing verbiage such as S********************** *************************** **** *** **** ********* ****** ****** * * ****** ****** ** **************************** *************************************** ****** *** ********* ** *** *** ** *** ***** ******* ****** * ***** ** ******* * ****** ****** * ********** *** *** ******** *** * **** ****** ******** ***** *** *** ******* ** ***** ************************* ************** * ********* **** *** *** ******** *** - a ****** search of "***************** in addition to some lighting products yields a website with various other unrelated products such as t-shirts, weed pullers, scissors, tape, hats, masks, etc. - A call to the company has not resulted in a cessation of the emails - THIS IS CRITICAL... Since these emails are unsolicited and since the company is employing various devious tactics to reach targeted email addresses, I am reluctant to use their unsubscribe service or give them my email address for fear they will give or sell my email address to other unscrupulous businesses. There is no way to ensure that this will not happen so I am asking the BBB to approach the company with this complaint without disclosing my email address. I am rejecting this response because:- the business offers no potential solution nor help in resolving the problem, just the statement "We do not have your email address in our system. Other companies who promote our products via their email list would have your email."
- the business obviously knows whom they have chosen to promote their products but have failed to provided that information so that I could pursue a resolution
- included with my original complaint was a screen shot from my PC displaying the domains used to send emails to me promoting their products but no information was provided by the business regarding which of those companies promoting their products are using those domains so I include it again for reference

This company is continuing to charge my credit card for products not ordered or received. I did order 3 solar lights from them which I received and the product is fine.
