Pattern of Complaint:

Better Business Bureau is advising consumers to use caution when considering doing business with Consumer Law Protection.  BBB has received a pattern of consumer complaints alleging failure to honor a contract or agreement, failure to cancel contracts, failure to contact consumers, misleading sales presentation and poor customer service.

On September 25, 2020, BBB sent a letter to Consumer Law Protection with its concerns.  The company responded on October 6, 2020 stating, “We are unaware of a “pattern of complaints” as you stated. Should a complaint be forwarded to you we will respond appropriately and process those concerns with the customer and work to find common ground with them and resolve the issue.”

Consumer Law Protection has not informed BBB how it intends to address the pattern of complaints.

On January 21, 2021, BBB issued a press release for Consumer Law Protection. The link to this release is provided:

On 2/11/2022, members of this organization met in *******, ** with a small group of older people for the purpose of "selling" a solution to get out of timeshares. After the initial group meeting, couples met individually with several members of Consumer Law Protection, specifically *************************************** (consultant) and Tyler ***** (director). The information was rapid pace and confusing. Questions were answered with a vague jumble of information, and promises to eliminate our debt. We could no longer afford the yearly maintenance fees plus the remaining mortgage balance for Spinnaker Resorts. We are retired and wanted to get our finances in line with our income. The "deal" sounded good at the time. We charged $10,008.67 on a credit card and were promised "relief" from the debt with Spinnaker Resorts. However now a year later, there was little, then no contact from Consumer Law Protection and no one ever called me back when I left messages. I have also filed a complaint with the ******** ************************* and found there is a consumer warning posted for this company. We were clearly scammed and want all of our money returned. I have the original contract from Consumer Law Protection and all the other paperwork pertaining to this transaction. We are now working with another company to resolve this issue - Client Protection Group ************.

Consumer Law Protection in ******, **. invited my wife and I to a presentation on ways to exit timeshare. We attended the event in ***********, ** in July 29,2020, and retained CLP. to process our exit from ********************, ************, **. They pressured us with repeated phone calls to complete all paperwork and pay them $6026 with in 10 days. The nature of this second complaint is different from our prior BBB. complaint filed October 26, 2020 (ID *********. CLP. replied to our first complaint, inferring that they did not have all required documents from us which was a lie. They had all the documents. In 20 months since we retained **** they offer no proof that they did any work. This was confirmed by the ********* GM who had received nothing from them. A volunteer advocate I reached out to said she always first check BBB. reports. She read a BBB. response from ********* in which they stated that owners could deed-back for $1900. This was about February 15, 2022. She spoke with the *** at *********. The *** said they would take it back. I just had to send a notarized letter. She waived the $1900. fee, expressing anger with CLP. The advocate contacted CLP. They said to write a letter to their legal **** to obtain a refund. However, ********************* LLC, associates of **** rushed to take credit by sending a check for $1900 to the *** of the ********* on March 10,2022, asking her to send our documents to them. We had already secured the Deed-back with the help of the advocate. CLP. and Resort Transfer did nothing. Given they did no work, this constitute a crime The General Manager at the ********* returned the check to Resort Transfer telling them that she had no idea who they were. CLP. is associated with Square One, according to BBB. One of the principals served time in jail for child ***********. We are asking BBB. to investigate this situation please.

September 30th 2020, I hired this company to get me out of a timeshare I could no longer use or afford. I paid them $14,378.00 for this service and received nothing that I was promised in the beginning. I have had to pay quarterly maintenance dues this entire time. I had long periods of time I could not reach anyone from this company and when I did finally speak to them, they said that Diamond Resorts were refusing to let me out of the times share. I paid them all that money and got nothing. I called Diamond Resort Directly and they did have opt out options. It will cost me $2000.00 more to get out of this time share.

We really didn&#**;t get any service from them. We submitted paperwork they request and nothing. I call and who I need to speak with is out. I never get any answers. We attended a seminar and signed up for them to get us out of a timeshare. We were able to exit the timeshare without their help. We paid ********************** $6532.00 and we are still paying off the down payment. We paid $4000 upfront. I thought we would pay the balance in installments, but they put it on a credit card. I haven&#**;t been able to make any progress with the company; we don&#**;t need their services.
