9/9/22 Champs was sent by American Home Shield to check out a 2nd floor air-conditioning problem. The tech did not wait for me to come from 1st floor to speak with him. He knew I was on my way up the steps. He turned off the motor, told the tenant he could run the system anyway and left before I came up to see him. I thought the tech fixed the system. I happened to go back to the property 2 days later and discovered that the 2nd floor system leaked all the way to the basement. I spoke to the tennant and called Champs and spoke with I think the owner. I explained what his tech had done and he agreed that his tech was wrong and he said he would fix everything. The damage was: dry wall and plaster to be replaced, painting done and wood floor warped. He sent a tech to change the motor on the 2nd floor system. Damages he kept promising to fix. He never did. This is over $900 in damage. I sent him pictures and he kept promising to come fix the problem. To date, I have not been contacted by the company.Initial Complaint

We contacted *** the owner at Champs Heating and Cooling, because the air unit was not cooling properly at our house. *** came out and said we needed a new system. We paid him for the new system and it just wasn't cooling off the house at all. *** came back out and said nothing is wrong and it is all set up correctly. after trying and trying to get *** to fix the brand new system he installed. After 2 months of trying to get help with our NEW SYSTEM we can no longer reach *** nor will he call us back. We had to hire another HVAC company to come out and he had to install another new system! He (*** from Champs) had put the wrong size A/C in and had it wired up to run on low electricity.... why I do not know but I would like our money back. I have Champs invoice attached along with the invoice of the correct size unit we had to replace with because *** would not answer or come out and fix the A/C.Business response

We replaced the condensing unit to the existing unit they had with their approval. It is not the system, but that the house is not well insulated, and needs the windows replaced in order for this unit to cool properly. We shared that information with them. We have been out to this location five times to address their concerns. The attic needs to insulated as well.Customer response

That is NOT true at all. We want you to pay us back for the system you installed not only wired wrong, but not even the right size! Are you kidding. This is the first step, we will take this all the way if we have to. I had 3 other HVAC companies come out and none of them would touch the unit. They (The other HVAC companies) all said it had to be replaced AGAIN! And This new unit works and cools off the house PERFECT.
