1 starI do like Panera but I have purchased gift cards in the past and their promotions are good. However this time I purchased one and was sent bonus gift cards which while they say can be redeemed online dont work and after contacting them was told they have to be printed and further more the bonus cards that came with my order arent good until next year. Why would I want to buy gift cards I cant use until next year thats ridiculous. Furthermore I bought digital gift cards to redeem/send digitally and now they are telling me the two bonus cards have to be printed and brought in but not until next year. Thats false advertising and though I like Panera completely unacceptable.Review fromMrs D

1 starStaff will stand there holding your bag of food while talking to other employees to purposely make you wait for several minutes and food get cold. This has happened on several occasions. It is clear it is intentional. I have heard from someone who worked there that this is a common practice of several employees to customers who don't tip. I understand tipping is important, when I am being provided a service (being served), however when placing an order they are putting it in a bag, and handing it to me is not a reason to tip. I wouldn't tip the cashier and bagger at Byerlys or the person checking me out at Kohls. If I eat inside, I will tip because they clean up the crumbs on the table, etc.. Workers, if you need more money, this is an issue to take up with the company. You should be paid a fair wage, but you can't expect the customers to be making up for it by putting food in a bag and handing it to us. Don't be mad at us, be mad at your employer. What else are they doing to your food?Review fromHolly K

1 starI went to Panera in ****** **** on ************, and this is a relatively new location. I typically go in every Tuesday and sometimes I order a coffee, and most of the time the coffee is either cold or empty. I poured myself a coffee, paid for it and went and sat down. When I went to drink it, it was cold! I went up to tell them and the girl behind the counter said, I can make another pot, but it will take a while, and those were her exact words. I said, forget it, just take the coffee back and refund me. She goes and gets her manager, and he proceeds to tell me that they stop making fresh coffee after 2pm, and that is why it was cold. You stop making coffee after 2pm and expect people to drink cold coffee? The staff was annoyed at me for not being over happy about this. They refunded my coffee, which I did just on principle because of their attitude about the coffee being cold. Apparently, I am the problem here and I should pay for c*** coffee and be happy with it, not expect them to actually do their job. The attitude of this staff is poor and unfortunate. That manager has no business managing a food business.Review fromChris S.

1 starWorst business to work for. If possible Id give less than one star. The managers treat the employees like ****, the lie about the employees and to the employees. They dont follow safety guidelines in fact they make employees use chemicals that they know the employee is allergic to. They will promise you a certain amount of hours but then theyll do everything they can to prevent you from getting those hours and did I mention they water down the soup to make it last through the eveningReview fromMichelle S

1 starI came through the drive thru to get a drink from my subscription. While waiting in line I turned on my uber app and ended up getting a ride from panera bread as well. I tried to call the store to inform them that I was in the drive thru and that I just received a order so they can start making it. However I didn't get a answer and I hung up when I got to the window. I got my drink and showed the girl my phone and told her I was picking it up as well. She asked if it was a rapid order. I told her no and she told me that I had to go inside to get it. I asked why if I was already right there and she said it's policy. So I had to get out of the car when I didn't want to get out of my car that's why I went through the drive thru for my drink. However I did so. The order was already ready and sitting right on the counter right by the employees. I informed the manager and told her and asked her the same question and she stated that they are just trained that way. If everyone else cam pick up in the drive thru for online orders and on top of that the order was made and I was already in line, I don't understand the logic. If I had to wait on the order, or didn't show that I had the actual pick up, I could see the situation but I can't at this moment. I asked door corporate number and the number I received went to a voice message and then hung up. So I am writing to contact management and let them be aware and give feedbackReview fromYenny Z

1 starI have been a customer of ******************** in ******* for quite some time, but I don't know what is happening with the air conditioning, a few weeks ago it was broken, customers without air conditioning and well at that time I thought about the employees who have to work in that heat, locked up everything the day. A few days ago I went again and again they were without air conditioning. I can't believe it's already been two weeks, which seems inconceivable to me since we are in the south of ******* and in these summer times. Likewise, I can't stop thinking about the employees, which seems inhuman to me. I think that the more people we complain about, not only that we can't go there, but we also have to highlight the poor working conditions.Review fromAlma T

1 starWent to Panera's to get some chicken noodle soup for my sister. They handed me two to-go bowls with broth and a few noodles. When I said that there were not enough noodles to call it chicken noodle soup and could they put a few more noodles they said no, it's corporate rules. "Okay", I said, "Then give me my money back." They were rude and huffing because I asked for a refund. I'm sorry but I'm not paying **** for broth. Their advertisement for the soup is a bowl filled to the top with noodles but beware, they only serve the broth. This was at the ********* ************ location. False advertising on the online photos, actual serving is only broth.Review fromAbigail S

1 starI took my family to lunch at this Panera and the food was not terrible but not great. We dined in and about 2 hours after we left the restaurant, my family all had stomach issues consistent with that of food poisoning! I came back to the restaurant and asked to speak with a manager (*****). I told ***** what happened and she immediately rolled her eyes and stated food poisoning takes days to go into effect so it was not from eating there. ***** refused to give me a refund or any type of comp and continued to belittle the situation and make annoyed faces showing zero customer service skills or professionalism. I left with no apology and I am sure my food safety concern was not documented as I was treated as a nuisance. I am currently still waiting to hear back from Corporate.Review fromCatalina M

1 starOn April 29, Saturday at 12:30pm, at the location Cafe nr. ******/*********, me and my 9 year old son we stop by at that location to grab 2 sandwiches for 2 go while we were getting ready to celebrate my son birthday in that day. While I was waiting for the food, my son asked for a cup to get something to drink because he got thirsty, so I asked for a small plastic cup. My son instead of getting water, he got little bit of soda, soon after I see the assistant manager going directly to my 9 year old son addressing rudely and shaming him that the cup is for water not for soda and he can't do that. I was shocked of what I just witnessed, first of all nobody is allowed to address like that to a minor, is illegal. I asked immediately to speak with his boss and unfortunately his boss was even worst, he said " You should teach your son to not steal our soda" . I was shacking of what I just heard. My son who is an Honor Roll student heard that, he got so traumatized by that, that even today he is mentioning about it and anywhere we go now is afraid to ask for anything. Unacceptable from a multibillionaire franchise.
