    On 6/04/2024 my 2016 Cadillac ats broke down in **********. I have Car Shield/American Auto Shield. I also have AAA Texas. I called Triple AAA Auto to come and tow my car back to *********** because they would arrive quicker than Car Shield who would send me through a process. CJ ****************** arrived shortly and towed my car back to my home in ********** (*************************************). I was going to tow the car to EZ Zone Mechanic shop which contracts through Car Shield but they told me that they had no where to park the car until the next day. My issue with Car Shield is my reimbursement for my towing. I paid CJ Towing $136.50 out of my own pocket. They were sent by AAA. ** Towing emailed me the receipt. I called Car Shield that day about my reimbursement and they told me to fax or email the receipt which I did on 06/07/2024 to both (fax ************ and email ******************************** I called them again on 06/13/2024 to find out the status of my refund and then I was told they needed a paid invoice from CJ towing. On 6/15/2024 I faxed and emailed the paid invoice. I have called repeatedly about my refund and has constantly been lied to and put off about my money. I called on 6/26/24 and spoke with a rep. named ***** and he told that the check had been mailed and it had not. I've spoken to several claim agents who has continued to lie to me about my towing reimbursement. I called on 7/2/24 and was told by **** the check was processed, It was not because I called on 7/9/24 and spoke with *** and she said it was processed today (Tuesday) and that the check will go out in the mail on Thursday 7/11/24. It did not because I called today 7/15/24 and was told the check was mailed today and that it is going to take 10 business days to get it. I was told that before also. Every month I pay Car Shield $169.98 autopay. This month I put a stop payment on that money until I receive my money from them. I believe they're trying not to pay me what they owe.

    Very upset. I purchased a Car Shield Platinum Contract for my ****** Tundra on around Memorial Day Weekend of 2024. It is now late July. I experienced a cooling system problem. I called Car Shield and began a claim. They told me to take the vehicle to my ****** Dealer and when he contacted them theyd discuss how they were going to pay for it. I thought great. When I got to the dealer and he called they denied my claim. Told him I didnt have enough miles to qualify for any services. It was never explained to me by the rep who sold me the contract that there was a mileage quota. All he said was minimum 25 days maximum 40 days for coverage to start. He left the mileage quota part conveniently out. He also didnt tell me that the mechanic might not get paid his full amount for his services or that a USED part might be installed for the repair. So when I discovered all this and was denied my claim I had enough. I called to cancel and ask for a full refund. Four different reps tell me my contract was cancelled and closed but they still havent cancelled me yet. I had to put a stop payment on them with my bank. I asked for a full refund for the three months I paid for at $138.60 a month and they told me I will not receive a dime back. This company is misleading. They leave things out when they sell to you and they lie. Then they look for excuses to not pay for you and if they do decide to pay then they undercut your mechanic and they have a USED part replace your bad part instead of new. None of this is explained to you when your contract is sold to you over the phone. Very misleading. Im still pursuing my refund. I only made three payments and was never allowed to use the service. I want my money back. They are refusing and giving me a runaround. I will go to Small Claims Court if I must. My advice is to avoid Car Shield. Save your $138.60 a month in a seperate savings account and use that for your repairs when needed.

    Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We have looked into this matter as well as the sales call. Upon further review our sales representative did recap the miles as well as the days in the waiting period. There would not be a refund as we gave you all the information at the time of sale.Customer Relations.
